I like the little snafu at the beginning when Adam comes in too early. It's nice to know that even one of the biggest bands in the world and they're still human. They played it off pretty well, too.
@ThorsteinKlingenberg Correct. Do you happen to know who controls the backing track? Somebody has to start it. I’ve gone back-and-forth between whether Edge’s does it at his feet or a roadie does it behind/under the stage. I feel like I’ve seen it done both ways. But I’m not sure.
Achtung baby was the very first album I bought when I was 13 years old. When I heard this live version of " Even better then the real thing" I couldn't believe my ears and how it sounded so much better than the actual album version!
Butterfly of my heart and soul. " I was on the inside when they pulled the four walls down." From being afraid to fearing nothing and no ONE.!! The Fly..💜(🖤)..
having said that, once they got to the first chorus i was in heaven haha - amazing song! no other band could write a song like this and as disappointing as the gig was it was amazing to see them play at Glastonbury after such a long wait. even if they did drop 'Zooropa' from the set for that ONE show! ;)
MUSIC IS THE LANGUAGE OF THE SOUL. 20 YEARS AGO, U2 RECORDED IN BERLIN A RECORD CALLED 'ZOOROPA'. BONO IS A MESSANGER BUT HE IS CONTROLLED BY THE ESTABLISHMENT AND THEIRFORE ALWAYS TRIES TO REACH MANKIND WITH HIDDEN MESSAGES WITHIN THEIR SONGS. LAST TRY TO REACH THE PEOPLE WITH THEIR MESSAGE WAS THIS YEAR IN GLASTONBURY...
@TheKenoflaherty Yes,I noticed it too. Larry is always in time ;)! But isn't it harder for the Edge to play in time because of all the technical stuff (delay, echoe)? Still, great start of a concert. I was really surprised they started to play this song during their 360 tour in South America. I was so jealous they hadn't played it in Europe. Couldn't get enough of listening to it. It is fun to re-discover the old gems.
As much praise as Joshua Tree (justifiably) receives, Achtung Baby is the better record. I don’t think there is a better example of a band with two completely different sounds on back to back albums as JT and AB(yes I know Rattle and Hum was in between.. but that’s more of a mash up collection than an actual album). If you listen to AB and JT and you didn’t know who they were, it’d be virtually impossible for anyone to realize it’s the same band. And taking that fact into consideration, for both of those albums to be masterpieces is absolutely remarkable.
awesome version of EBTTRT!!! once again, U2 'cover' one of their own songs and make another classic (ever see The Fly from Elevation tour as another example)
u2 have now been put into the 'love them or hate them file which is fine? I would be willing to bet if you listened to their previous,everybody on this planet would like at least ONE of their tunes.....ACTUNG
I shall emerge like a butterfly when my head is pure and the thing finally leaves me and the hard work I've put in fighting it bears fruit. " Your Honey child to a swarm of bees.".. Bring on the girls.. Yeah !! Ha ha. .💋...What More.!!
This was their first performance in 20years where it wasn´t their own stage, lighting or show. Larry blew the intro and they were simply on the back foot for the rest it. They were very disappointed after the performance.
@TheKenoflaherty That's right, i just got the tempo that Larry does... and its right, Edge was late... too bad it happened in Glastonbury... the proof that even one of the best bands in the world can't be "even better than the real thing"
Jo Whiley s intro was understated . A fistful of dynamite songs . This is U2 for fuck sake not the foo fighters or poxy Coldplay. U2 were awesome at Glastonbury. But they won’t be going back
i love these guys more than any other band...but after this big build up the fuck up with the timing was the worst start to a gig i've ever seen and they never fully recovered :( i hope they weren't completely spooked out of playing anything out of their comfort zone and they play glastonbury again...even if it takes them 20 more years ;)
Drumming is superb
just so amazing no other band will ever be better then u2
all those people who hate U2 would have been watching this thinking, oh shit ...
The highlight of my year! I was there baby!!!! still gives me goose bumps
I like the little snafu at the beginning when Adam comes in too early. It's nice to know that even one of the biggest bands in the world and they're still human. They played it off pretty well, too.
I don't think Adam came in too early... I'd suggest it was more Larry who somehow got ahead by a beat coming out of the intro.
It's the backingtrack that's off, not Adam.
Best performance in years... no doubts!!
Achtung baby was the very first album I bought when I was 13 years old. When I heard this live version of " Even better then the real thing" I couldn't believe my ears and how it sounded so much better than the actual album version!
I'd say 99% of U2s songs sound better live.
The audience is part of the band.
Combinação Perfeita: 'Even Better Than The Real Thing' e 'The Fly'. Parabéns U2!
loved you since Under a Blood Red Sky you just keep getting better and better :) Bono
Puro Rock, Puro u2, demais !!

This opening is reel amazing!!!! U2 rules!!
having said that, once they got to the first chorus i was in heaven haha - amazing song! no other band could write a song like this and as disappointing as the gig was it was amazing to see them play at Glastonbury after such a long wait. even if they did drop 'Zooropa' from the set for that ONE show! ;)
best intro ever of U2 LIVE
this is the moment that many people thought it would never happened, it's been a long time coming.....CORRECT? but tonight...??? I can't get it...:(
this really is fucking mind blowingly awesome
they didn't screw up at the start, the epicness just couldn't handle itself for a couple of seconds after they ripped into the song XD
eu estive em 1998,no Autódromo de jacarepaguá,no Rio de Janeiro vendo esse showzaço foda de mais
The best of the best U2

Wish they would play the original version

How it’s possible compares u2 and coldplay even chris martin knows the truth......U2 another level
Always makes me laugh when’s Bono pretends to play his guitar during Edges solo 😂😂
fucking kick ass rock and roll i was there ,outstanding
this song is fcking epic, Better then the real thing, Waam Waam WAAM!
lol they messed up at the beginning but it doesn't matter because their awesomeness took over!
Bono with a laser light in his eyes there, so many haters for you Bono

Blew the intro? How?
@@danbest1984 at 1.00min Larry is way off. You can see Adam going over to him to rescue it. He then played just hihat to get it back in sync.
True, it was disaster, really. A performance they wish to forget
@MrRaisch I agree with you... U2 is an influence to Coldplay... they said that, by the way
Hot!
Wat is u2 in vorm zeg yes the fly
Ze hebben veel voor dit optreden uit de kast gehaald dvd waardig
coldplay arnt even in the same class as U2
@thedge86 when???
I think we all would have noticed the mistake if someone in the crew had remembered to turn on his AMP. I think they turned it to negative 11. ;)
is adam clayton using a pick?
The weather was bloody awful! But Jesus Bono Christ, it was some show!!!
Do l even know how big this is. Michael.
@thedge86
Its a shame we can't write to a Musical Ombudsman to complain.
aaaaa meeeu Deus, isso é o céu! \o/

It’s Larry not The Edge on fault on the Intro , looks like ears problem for Larry here
@steelundergrounder Hahahha, nearly nothing. But at least its plugged in, you can hear it start at 4:22 ... sort of. haha
Must be Chris Martin who pressed the dislike button!
Disapointing crowd , not gig , U2 never done a bad gig in 40 years
Jo Whiley s intro was understated . A fistful of dynamite songs . This is U2 for fuck sake not the foo fighters or poxy Coldplay. U2 were awesome at Glastonbury. But they won’t be going back
Why won’t they?
funny!!!!
Prefer the original 1991 Achtung...
@cahillgreg ;)
Really god, but in the beginning Edge and Larry just lost themselves
Actually, Edge was right but Larry was a bit off and Bono was totally wrong, but they focused very quickly.
@2y2dorg Shush now.
i love these guys more than any other band...but after this big build up the fuck up with the timing was the worst start to a gig i've ever seen and they never fully recovered :( i hope they weren't completely spooked out of playing anything out of their comfort zone and they play glastonbury again...even if it takes them 20 more years ;)
