- Jurassic Park has had a lot of alternate canon and lost media from the 1990’s and 2000’s that people should know about. Project Evilution, the online adventure video game and even the cancelled TV series have all been super cool. If these shows and ideas had been finalized or even stuck around longer I think they would’ve changed the course of the franchise in a big way. Especially Trespasser 2. If that happened we very well may not have the Jurassic World trilogy.

It’s crazy to think that some of the stuff that used to be canon is now no longer Canon
And it wasn't Disney's fault 😂
It’s called retconning and it’s a product of untalented writing
It's often when something inorganic or unrealistic to the story happens that the writer doesn't come up with a cohesive reason for, in a story that becomes popular and expanded upon.
In stand alone stories, they're just plot holes, or "mysteries".
Canon only exists in individual minds. Nothing can prevent you from playing in the imaginary of the old canon. The only thing "objective" is what is in continuity with what else. And sometimes there are good reasons for "retconning". The Heisei Godzilla films, or _Shin Gojira,_ would hit a lot different if you had to imagine that Godzilla vs. Megalon was somehow canon to it.
@@coreyander286Godzilla’s a little different in that Toho’s admitted to making different universes/ timelines for the sake of different interpretations of Godzilla’s character.

The animated series Escape from Jurassic Park would be so cool, it would even have some species that would live in Kenner toys, for example Baryonyx, Ornithosuchus, Lycaenops etc...

Here’s the thing…a faithful adaptation of Project Evilution as a straight-up horror movie could be bug-nuts freaky.
Use practical effects and have it basically be a real-time film set back in the late 90s/early 00s, and you could have a legitimately scary movie.
I’d be down for it.
Nice Alternate Canon and Lost Media of Jurassic Park and it was pretty epic in my opinion.
Can’t wait for Season Two of Chaos Theory and the new Jurassic Movie in 2025 as well as other dinosaur media in 2025 and it’s about to get Wild.

Those two animated series one set after the first movie would have been interesting set in the 90's would have been cool to see the other being the sequel to the lost world really would have been more mature being that two of the hybrids would have been that two headed rex as well as the blob t rex abomination seeing that animated would have been cool wish they didn't scrapped them those two would have been cool to expand on those first two movies.

I’m almost 31, I remember JP Survival being in development shortly after Operation Genesis came out because those screenshots you showed were exactly the promo material I saw so it’s cool that I didn’t dream it up or something lol

That was my thought the minute the three-headed rex and power suits popped up. I wonder if that rejected concept art wasn't actually the inspiration for that (bad) game.

@@scottb3034 they are both great in their own way. I think for the continuation of the story from book to book is far better than the movie. The characters are way more built and interesting in the book and there is no “gymnastic scene” 😂 Love both but agree to disagree my fellow park ranger.

It's important to preserve all of this. From the films to merchandise and even those websites that are no longer up. Even ideas that never came to be. They weren't all great, but it's good to conserve it all, regardless.
Man I haven’t watched anything JP related in a while but recently I’ve been getting into Godzilla and the topic of giant monsters is back on my mind, this vid is the thing I needed to get back to JP, thanks Klayton, your stuff is great!

Dude, the part where they almost made a Jurassic Park animated series with a two-headed T-Rex at [16:48]? I’m dying over here! Like, what were they even thinking? Imagine trying to outrun not just one, but TWO T-Rex heads-nightmare fuel for real! 😂 I can’t believe they almost went with that crazy plotline. This video just unlocked a whole new level of what-could-have-been for Jurassic Park. Definitely sticking around to see what other wild ideas got left on the cutting room floor!

I really wish the Jurassic World trilogy had been about biosyn making a park, and then the dinosaurs escape into the mainland that way. It’s always bothered me that Hammond would suddenly go back on everything he’d said, and his “dying wish” was for another eccentric billionaire to make another park…feels a little left field after the lost world .
and his sudden turn of health from becoming healthier to passing shortly after to pass it on to masrani. it was very sloppily handled.
Not to mention the very premise of that movie insults crichton's work and the original film. which made it clear a park could not work.

I miss the old canon before the “Amalgam” testing was added to the timeline.
I always thought the spinosaurus was bred alongside all the other site B dinosaurs and was present on the island during the events of the Lost World, and Ingen didn’t have it on their official breeding list because it was too aggressive to be moved to Nublar as a park attraction.

As much as I love Jurassic park, I wish they’d give the moves a little break. Develop a fresh idea. I’m actually nervous about the new movie. I think an action/horror-esc game would be great.

Any kind of 2 or 3 headed dinosaurs and I would have switched off immediately.... You don't need hybrids, just good writers, good writers + Dinosaurs = Awesome. Simple. All this Hybrid crap and then the Locusts? Seriously? Who writes this crap
I get the locusts, in concept. Mesozoic bugs are Mesozoic animals too. It's a lot more hard sci-fi than two-headed dinos and hybrids.
