JURASSIC PARK: Isla Nublar Canon and Lore Video (1 Hour)

- Опубліковано 29 жов 2023
- Jurassic Park is a franchise filled with deep lore about Isla Nublar and Sorna. Site B is covered in another video but the world of Hammond’s first island is for now. Dinosaurs like Rexy the Tyrannosaur as well as Troodons and the Tylosaurus (a Mosasaur) are here with canon and lore even from the 2011 Telltale game in a deuterocanonical sense.

I’m loving these long form videos. Almost acts as a JP encyclopedia of sorts
Same here, makes me wanna read the books again but already done it this year 😄
Me too!!
We need an actual encyclopedia tho
@@tucan9111 I agree
@@tucan9111 there have been several encyclopedias out there over the years.
Isla Nublar was called cloud island because of the fog that would often overtake the island hiding it in clouds, or that's what I recall from the book.
According to Dodson, we've got Dodson here. There was 15 species worth of embryos to get off of Isla Nublar in 1993
Or that was all he could transport
“I own an island off the coast of Costa Rica.”
15:18 I suppose that would explain why in the Books Universe, there were dinosaur species on Sorna that were not in Nublar. 🦖🦖
Nice Explanation of the Canon and Lore of Isla Nublar from Jurassic Park and it was a pretty awesome adventure and it was pretty interesting and great points you’ve made on the video especially the amazing prehistoric moments in Isla Nublar from Jurassic Park and Life Definitely Finds A Way.
Great work on this Klayton and as always, Take It Easy and Life Finds A Way.
Today is my birthday!
I'm 33 years old!
Thanks for this, Klayton!😊
Happy Birthday man!
These are great vids to listen to while working, doing chores, etc.! Not so much for falling asleep because, y'know... dinosaurs... but I still love 'em! Keep it up and God bless you!
Thank you brother! I really appreciate that! God bless you too!
The funny thing is that Doctor who says she was here before Dr. Wu saying she was her before the plan, and never agreed to it. By her still being there after it was put into effect, she was giving her consent by continuing to work they and getting a check. She obviously didn't hate the idea enough to stand by her convictions and quit or go public about what was going on.
Just came across your channel, you are awesome dude 👊
I’ve been a JP fan for 15 years and no one has made content for it like you
I love listening to these longer videos while i play JWEvolution
🎯
50:38, man looking back now, that would have been a better plot than what we got for JP6.
An HOUR?! YES!!!!! 🦕 🦖
Damn I've never realized Stegosaurus had a huge typo on the embryo's names during the heist scene! And Tyrannosaurus is missing one n, boy there was some rushed work even in the first movie.
Man i love listening ur JP podcast so much because its so informing and peaceful
I don’t care what I’m doing, I got time for Jurassic Park content😎
When Klayton posts lore, I shall be there
I feel weird saying this but it comes as a sharp relief you're entertaining the possibility that the Troodon might be some kind of hybrid monstrosity, because I've had it with people insinuating the Dilophosaurus is but turn a blind eye towards the fact that both Troodon and Compsognathus / Procomsognathus also have venom.
In The Lost World, Hammond pronounced Isla as "Eyes-la", instead of "Ees-la". But I wish the JP Sega Genesis game would get a modern release, with rewind like most other classic games nowadays. (And an attempt to explain why the Jeep changes to a tour vehicle halfway through the intro).
Well....Jurassic Park Sega has a modern release....
I clicked this because I’m starting a DND campaign, that takes place in the ruins of Jurassic Park
Haven't been on this channel for a while but man do i love long videos like this.
If I remember correctly in the book the construction of the aviary stalled out because the workers kept getting attacked by the Pteras that had already been added. What if the JP3 pteras are just the descendants of the original planned JP1 pteras who were deemed to violent and written off.
Okay I'm going to have to wash this after Tuesday because I love all your Jurassic Park lore You're actually the one that made me want to reread Jurassic Park the book and I'm a huge Jurassic Park fan
The video doesn’t look dirty to me lol
@@SinisterFears Just couldn't resist huh? 😂
This just came up for me and as far as I know I've never seen your channel before. A really well put together video. I love lore and timeline videos like this for both franchises I know and those I am much less familiar with.
Duuuude your long videos! I fucking LOVE them!
Finally a canon video WITH the inclusion of JPTG!
Awesome work mate!
Maybe a video on all the canon species that were in Jurassic park and Jurassic world? I'd love such a video
Absolutely love the fact ibe found your channel. Learning more about JP lore and the vast amount of information is amazing! Keep going
maybe Blue took jeep 18 for a ride like that one velociraptor with the motorcycle in that lost world pitch
I'm sick of pretending like dinosaurs arent cool as hell.
I work long shifts and these long form videos are super nice! Please do more like this 😊
JP should give you an un official title like lore master or something in the credits of the next movie.
Great video been enjoying these in-depth videos on Jurassic Park/world videos glad your doing a lore breakdown of isla nublar.
Lysine contingency and the Pterodons getting are like the breeding Velociraptors as symbols of Malcom's warning to Wu, "Life finds a way". I believe we can and should see Metriacanrthosaurs, Segisaurs, Proceratosaurs, and Troodons. The latter would present a Deinonychus and Velociraptors-like threat think The Lost World: Jurassic Park game Human Hunter and Human Prey levels. There should be Pectinodons too. I would say Troodon Pectinodon is a hybrid. The Tylosaurus is in the ocean somewhere. I think the Pterosaurs are vicious beasts in the series eg dropping Zara into the lagoon.
I wouldn't mind a good jp horror survival open world. Kinda like a dead island or dead rising. Time events as time moves in game.
The possibilities are endless.
Awesome video! I especially loved seeing more about Jurassic Park The Game, mainly about the Herrerasaurs and the Troodons, lots of interesting stuff there
I love the history of Isla nublar
i think everyone loves these long videos klayton keep em coming
Another good and enjoyable compilation.
This was insane good. Good stuff, man.
i love these long form essay type videos! entertaining and perfect for when i work from home! i learn so much too
Bet this took ages mate. Good job. Appreciate the effort.
It's both a hybrid and fictional creature that's I think love your vids man keep up the good work
I'll never understand how you manage to get so few likes. Your content on JP/JW is awesome!
It’s because this only appeals to smart people.
@@mattg5978 Good point.
Comments on Troodon taxonomics: I think Ingen's clone being called Troodon pectinodon works out. Troodon being the genus designation and pectinodon being a species designation . A genus name can be used as a species designation and has been done in paleontology. The one that comes to mind is Kansasensis (Meaning from kansas) belonging to Tylosaurus kansensis and planulina kansasensis (a marine micro-organism). With troodon being a nomendubium in 2011 and formosus being in doubt, Ingen's solution appears to be maintaining the genus while creating their own species inside the genus.
Colossal biosciences (IRL Ingen) plans to take the same approach with their planned dodo bird based on their planned modifications to its genome. ( I have one or two really bad videos on colossal's comparisons with Ingen).
Ingen's dinosaur may not be a hybrid but without carefully identifying osteological correlates to paleontological taxonomic identifiers (synapomorphies) (something ingen could only accomplish via CT or dissection) a confirmed species designation is impossible, giving it a unique corporate designation is actually responsible in my opinion.
My next issue is ragged tooth, most theropods (all, to my limited knowledge) drop their teeth, much like sharks do, ragged tooth would have to be a physical or infection based disruption to this process. That being said, tyrannosaurs do carry pathologies from some sort of infection of the jaw that is visible as boreholes and bone necrosis in the dentary bones of the lower jaw.
Sorry bout the paragraph, Christ is indeed king! Merry christmas!
Thanks for always delivering
I can listen to this guy forever
Love these compilations!
Enjoying these videos ! Thanks !!
Watching this video, I would LOVE if Universal Studios did a live action mini series on the Jurassic Park game
i love this kind of video and keep up the good work
Love these videos
Happy Halloween klayton thanks for making the lsla nublar video so thanks for making this video Klayton
If the tylosaurus escaped, now it could meet face to face with the mosasaurus, oh dear
Or it would meet a longer, heavier, smarter apex predator such as the sperm whale or a pod of orcas and perish. People tend to forget that the marine megafauna we have currently is very much ahead of the Mesosoic equivalents in a number of ways.
@@wolf2965 yes, i agree, they have evolved a lot, but my counterpoint is: that thing is not natural, it's been juràssic parkified
Awesome! 😊
I didn’t think Jurassic Park: The Game was technically canon. Is it? 🤔
It's not. The can full of DNA gets destroyed in the game, but is in tact in Dominion.
@@monstersandmachinesthere’s an alternate ending where Can’s survive but are eaten by Rexy
love these longer vids!
Thank you so much.
Keep up the lore videos!!!
The Troodons from Telltale's Jurassic Park the Game are, genuinely, the scariest thing in the franchise.
The christ is king threw me off at then lmao
Happy Halloween! 🎃👻
Ok so I have no context for what's going on in this part of the JP game, but can someone please explain to me why some scientist thinks that releasing the Mosasaur is a good idea and seems to act like it's a morally correct decision?
You talk about how the Lysine Contingency was flawed due to Dr Wu’s arrogance to think it was a viable control measure. But I question if it was an intentionally flawed failsafe that he engineered to ensure that his work would not be destroyed simply because INGEN or the Park failed. Any non biologist would hear the explanation and think ok good we have a failsafe but he may have known it was all smoke and mirrors and his work would survive.
I think after their escape, the pterosaurs would've eventually calmed down and lived in much the same way as seafaring birds like the albatross
I decided to binge watch the series again. And just never knew how it was a horror-survivor book. I saw a meme on iFunny showing how dark the book is.
❤️R.I.P Isla Nublar❤️
I don't think they would have stockpiled dinos for parks that hadn't even left the drawing board yet.
One of the horniest channels going spared no expense!
The JP tell-tale game "Troodon" is an addition that is as fascinating as it is baffling. It IS a fun creature concept but so weird and horror-heavy it almost feels out of place for the franchise and more at home in a Carnosaur knock-off or even Dino Crisis. Their design is also so cartoony, it was hard to take them seriously. There ARE interesting things to do with an animal that for a long time was held as most intelligent non-avian dinosaur, cousin of dromaeosaurids but still different. I wrote JP sequel pitches where a Troodontid would show higher than usual intelligence and use it, not to kill, but to free itself from the confines of Costa Rica.
Klayton, do you think there’s been a significant drop in quality from the original three movies, to the newest three? I could watch the first three a million times, but the new three, I couldn’t really only rewatch World, and not many times.
Anyone else listen to these when sleeping? CUH I DO!
Randomly googled "Jurassic Park Lore" and stumbled upon this video. God damn, this is exactly what I wanted!
Is there lore about the “unused “ islands that are mentioned
If you’re referring to Peña, Muerte, Tacañao and Matanceros, they saw very little if any use, as InGen never set up any facilities on these islands.
Where the hell did this native slaughter plot come from? Like seriously, did Jurassic Park really need that?
I think it just adds to the lore of the series, Jurassic Park The Game’s use of the slaughter to build up a character within the story was really well done.
I'm always down for an hour long JP deep dive
Got this suggested earlier and just reached the topic above diseases plaguing the dinos. In the novel The Lost World, it's revealed that most if not all dinos were infected with prions the carnivore hatchlings were fed. The infection vector was minced sheep meet.
Wish we could get a post jp movie showing clean up/ then jw set up, capture of dinos/etc
The dinos getting around the lysine contingency always struck me as BS in The Lost World. The animals wouldn't adapt quickly enough to "start eating lysine enriched foods" naturally to continue surviving before they slipped into comas. Just like Malcom's death, it was a work around Crichton needed to come up with to tell the story he wanted to tell.
Man, as an old JP fan, this lore fills the missing pieces of how JP began and how it went down
Oh boi oh boi oh boi more j park lore
Another fun trip down Nublar Lane.❤😂
What is the background music at the 4:23 mark? I remember it from your earlier videos.
you could have in theory an InGen team hunting the tylasaur, if InGen actually succeeded in this it could explain something
LETS GOOOOOOOOOOO 🎉
Yay!!!!
I totally think the 'lysine contingency' was more of a 'tick the box' for legal reasons sort of deal to get the sign-off. I think Henry Wu and John Hammond were both fully aware that it wouldn't actually work.
A point that I constantly see getting glossed over is the fact that Isla Nublar could NOT contain their assets. In the book there were a few accounts of dinosaurs getting off the island and surviving even with the contingency plan in effect. They never had control. Tim sees raptors on the ship with binoculars during the tour, and we can't forget the baby that had its face eaten by a compy.
I personally think that the apparent decision to go carnivore heavy in their choices to clone is the biggest reason for so much damage
Currently reading the first book and damn, it so much better than the 1993 movie, the characters are very different and i like them much more in the book
anyone knows where can i get a physicall copy of the jp books?
Hey what are the background themes you used?
I think the biggest hole in this timeline is that the 5 deaths were an after thought when they needed a second island for the lost world
So the whole "needing to extracate" conflict makes no sense as hammond would never have needed nublar...sense he had five islands right next to each other
Im going back in deep into my JP/Dinosaur hyperfixation and dear lord, what I would GIVE to have a JP horror movie with the Trooadons
I hope Herrerasaurus appears in some Movie with a Canonical Appearance
I never knew about Ingen removing the Indigenous people of Nublar. And killing them, well that changes my view on Ingen entirely to villains. I hope we see a video totally about Isla Sorna. I wanna know when it all started over there when INGEN began work.
hi klayton
AM BIG FAN OF JURASSIC PARK /WORLD MOVIES THINKS TO KLAYTON
What music plays at 14:10? Anyone know 🎶
The carnos in the lost world book were the most terrifying dinos InGen made. Wish we got to see that in the movies instead of one scene with indominous rex...
