Hi, thanks for these videos, but I'm struggling with a ghd mk4 mini. The ceramic plate does not slide off the switch side. It looks like the fuse is protruding out the cover so it cannot slide. It does look like it has clips though, but not sure what to do. Can you assist?

    Hi. Great video(s).
Can you tell me where to get a replacement on/off switch for a GHD MK.5 please. eBay only seem to sell the whole PCB assembly which is very expensive and a waste of money. Can't see any on Amazon either.
Replaced the thermal fuse here which had blown. Replaced the element/thermistor also and the elements were not heating up properly. Cleaned the switch up after taking it apart, but it still seems a bit intermittent i.e. sometimes the light glows, goes off, glows goes off, but GHDs never bleep to say 'ready'. Then they will sometimes work OK.
R8/11 are fine. Both at 51 ohms. At a bit of a loss if it isn't the switch? Run out of ideas.
    Thanks for any suggestions.

Wouldn’t adding a bit of thermal paste to the back of the thermistor work?

The thermistor needs to be well glued down and in good contact with the heater. Thermal paste under the bead of the thermistor may improve the performance, but the important thing is solid contact.
