This is one of those pairings of episodes that seem to share a moral. They're about a character who wants another life, only to realize they're not up to the responsibilities of that life. I can think of some post movie examples like that: Ghost Host/Chimps Ahoy Life in the Day/Sun Bleached
It seems that Spongeguard on Duty is an episode that has a slight life lesson for kids of why you shouldn't be spmething that you're not. But at least SpongeBob (and Patrick) gets some decent swimming practice by Larry at the end.

The first 3 seasons and movie are good. After that the creator left the show. He only intended for it to be 3 seasons but nickelodeon kept it going. He eventually returned for a few seasons before passing away.
