As an Upstate NY resident my entire life I was in no way offended by this episode. In fact, it is probably the best episode of the Simpsons in a long time. People are too easily offended these days and that’s a problem. Being able to laugh at oneself, especially in an instance like this, is healthy. I also think inviting the writers of the Simpsons to the State Fair will only give them more material. Therefore, I absolutely hope the writers go to the fair and write the sequel to this episode with a whole new song that we can all laugh with. Best Episode Ever! 😬
Also it puts a spotlight on the issues that Upstate NY has. Can't keep ignoring the population decline and the fact that our tax dollars are stolen from us to benefit NYC.

I've lived all over the country in the last 20 years and I can say the worst potholes are for sure New England and Upstate NY. But, if we count Puerto Rico as part of the USA then it's by far the worst.

For being in the same state as NYC and even Long Island , Upstate NY is a pariah. Economically disadvantaged, low income households, lots of drug abuse and addiction , poor access to healthcare, endemic of teen pregnancies, yet politically liberal (you’ll find BLM posters still up on peoples homes And pride flags). Just a strange region of the country. In winter it is extremely depressing. But in summer and fall it is scenically beautiful.

Tesla was committed to producing 2,500 jobs in exchange for hundreds of millions of New York State tax monies towards a new plant in Buffalo, New York. Thus far, several years latter, only about 500 jobs have been created.

I too have lived in Upstate NY all my life and thought it was hilarious. I live a stones throw away from Niskayuna, so the water tower was fun to see. There’s tons of good here too. Adirondack Park. Our downtown is coming back to life. Loads of great restaurants and they are always packed. Our park is pretty big for the city size and the rose garden is gorgeous with tennis courts, dog park, frisbee golf, hiking trails (those need help), pool, ponds, baseball, basket ball, playground. Almost every city/town goes through its ups and downs throughout the years. I could pick apart the good and bad where I live. So what? The vid was still funny!

If you live in Utica or anywhere else in Upstate New York, I have a simple question: why haven't you moved to Florida yet? I used to live in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Thank god I own a 4x4 just so I could negotiate Whirlpool Street to get to the Wegnans or I290 in NFNY. My wife and I moved to Orlando years ago. Orlando may be like Buffalo with palm trees, but at least the roads are paved.

I live in Upstate NY, The Simpsons hit it head on. The population in NY has been declining for years and for good reason. The liberal government of the state has run Upstate into a virtual ghost town. I guess the old saying "the truth hurts" is true.

@@tommytruth7595 It ain't just the weather. I left Poughkeepsie 2 years ago and headed to the west coast. NY has utterly and completely failed as a functioning state. NY's Golden era ended in the 1980s. I know third world countries that still treat their people better than that regional black hole known as "Upstate NY".
This video is just like the gift that keeps on giving. Only it's called reality that keeps on showing truth that is definitely truth.
From New York, I encourage the Simpsons to keep going it. People need to lighten up.

I used to live in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Thank god I own a 4x4 just so I could negotiate Whirlpool Street to get to the Wegnans or I290 in NFNY.
My wife and I moved to Orlando years ago. Orlando may be like Buffalo with palm trees, but at least the roads are paved.
