That might be true for Rickles. I don't know why you would assume that about Sinatra. After Sinatra found out his son had children out of wedlock, he had him over one time to yell at him and give him hell for days. Don't think he saw him after that.

It's a Great story how the 2 of them became friends ------- Sinatra was in a restaurant for lunch, he was in a shitty mood and angry about everything, unknown to him Rickles was also there at the same time, when the waiter brought a course to Sinatra, he really wasn't happy about the quality of food, banged his fist on the table and shouted at the waiter - - at the same time, a glass fell off Sinatra's table and smashed. When Rickles heard the noise and the glass smashing, he shouted "pass the ketchup Frank!!!" , that was it, Sinatra burst out laughing and the 2 became good friends

@@frasermackenzie7275 Yes I know. Anyone that was a successful entertainer playing Vegas and nice clubs in LA and New York knew gangsters, it’s just part of it, even me as just a country music singer got involved with them and didn’t really know anything different. But I recorded at Las Vegas recording studios in the late 70s and even in Dallas Texas I met some. I just tried to be myself and it was ok. Frank was Italian and you’re right grew up in that THING. lol 😂

He was sharp and had great pacing but after a lot of viewing ... seems a bit too racist to me. I mean that not in a comedic way - but there IS a line, and he tends to have that vibe - like Bernard Manning etc. Bit too much, something a bit wrong.

It didn't look like Frank Sinatra appreciated the humor of Don Rickles or even understood it...hahahaha

Frank's facial expression says it all. Not at all happy with Rickles remarks. Rickles did cross the line with the gangster humor. Not funny. But then, never thought he was funny to begin with. He always struck me as the male version of Joan Rivers.
