I own the Alliance at the beginning. Honestly after using it in 3 skirmishes so far, it is actually fairly decent. It is extremely hard to counter that many cannons at once. It is great for organised battles only though, and what you said was almost exactly true. Btw the bow chasers outrange mortars 😀 We also 1v1ed an astra, and demolished it in less than 30 seconds. We were at 70 percent health afterwards.
I did see that video, that was a good one. Like we say in the video the ships just came out and our first impressions are likely to change. I can't wait to give the alliance a spin myself.
Hello! Around the 13:15 mark you and kalen both mention that the hook will be hard to helm snipe or snipe guns off of. This seems to be false. I have used it in combat twice, got helm sniped once in the first battle, sunk since i had no crew in the private server. Second battle i got half sniped, took damage, then full sniped and died (with respawn) we also lost a side gun and chaser in that same period of about 30 seconds. This was against Taipans, which aren't particularly high ships. the helm seems to just be a particularly easy target from the front/side area of the ship. However, this is an excellent and thorough video. glad to see you back strong in TL man. It is important to note that i was crewed by WCN crewmen, so while we should have shredded a Taipan or two, we actually got smoked by some upper WCN helmers/gunners. Also, i may use the Hook exclusively because the radio will be great for annoying my crew.
They had only used it once in the very first day that it came out. ideally proper combat testing takes place over the course of the next week this video was just to get the message out there first before everybody else.
Nice video, the audio was excellent and in general the video was very smooth except the ending, you could have used a outro but ofcourse you are just back so it's understandable.

Alliance is a trophy ship. It’s basically a flex, and a support ship like the Neptune. It’s basically a collection ship to have. That’s why it’s very expensive. Not meant for use everytime. Cuz it’s slow. And ofc, sternlockable.

i made an oak and pine alliance and people say oak is not good for the alliance but in my opinion the alliance is one of the only ships that looks sick with oak
yesterday they gave the Alpha hook away to everyone but then they realized there mistake :c so now only alpha players got the Alpha hook also im 2 hours late as i was grinding for the starling so oof
Honestly I think the stiletto is still better than the hook, just for the fact its that 1 speed faster, although not being a lot, it defines who can stern-lock who, and the hook is only the speed of a beaver or phoenix, so although it will definitely be a good ship for pirating, i don't see it doing well against other warships, i think it would lose a 1v1 against a stiletto, the 1 less speed is a lot more of a disadvantage than it seems.

Id say the Hook is more comparable to a combat log than a stilly. After spending a few hours helming one. Still a great ship to have.

It’s be really nice to see a merchant version of the alliance, or maybe a multi-roll version.
The Stilletto will still be use for combat and raiding but more as a support ship to the Hook now.

Ye would be right in that. We play tested it and while on paper it sounds nice the combat test proved otherwise.
