I think the deal was that for him to return he had to wrestle up 3 weight classes to make it fair. I'm not sure if this is accurate or not though. I could be wrong. You would have to clarify this because I don't really know if it was 3 or 4 four weight classes they make him wrestle up now.

  • @b.t.8879

Lee's problem (aside from the obvious knee health issues) is that he's very good on the feet and good at scrambling and then he masters one high scoring move better than anyone else in the world (in folkstyle it was the tilt, in freestyle it's the leglace). But then he coasts using it. I think it prevents him from being well rounded, so, if someone can counter it, he gets into positions he's not used to.
Where is his defense? Where are the chest wraps or any other defensive scoring moves. His defense is mostly based around outpowering his opponents.
That will get him some NCAA titles, it might even get him a world championship. But I don't think it will let him win the Olympics. He will meet a competitor that is as good as him on his feet, can counter his big scoring move, is as strong as he is, and has more techniques in their arsenal.

@@user-wx2cq8ey7y I don’t need to “spark controversy”. ESPN, Flo, and Big10 all got their rocks off showing his mom break her glasses when he was upset by Ramos. Media and sick fans from everywhere loved popping off at the mouth when had to injury default the rest of NCAAs after than match. Then everyone gave him hell for pulling out of the US Open. I don’t blame you for you not knowing this stuff as it’s evident you’re not as big of wrestling fan as I am. And that’s okay. I don’t hold that against you. But to try to say I’m “trying to spark controversy” is laughable when I’ve said he’s the best in the world. Don’t blame it on me. I’m Team Spenser all the way. Always have and always will, unlike many that only jump onboard when he’s winning. 🤔. Hmmm. Seems like it might be the same people claiming that no one talks crap about Spenser. GTFOH. You’re lost and I hope you find your way my brother. We’re all praying for you to this time.
And I’ll take the bait and act like you dont’ know what I’m talking about. With that said, Consider yourself lucky if you haven’t seen some of the evil hater spewed at him during his time at Iowa. And as a wrestling fan, it disgusts me seeing this as it ruins my perception of wrestling fans all over.

@@echalvorson That’s laughable. To neglect that there haven’t been more shit talk about Spencer than any other wrestler in a decade, makes me think you’re another front runner who pulls for him when he’s winning but shit’s on him when he’s losing. Wooow we all know guys like you. Just know I’m still praying for you and hope you find your way. While your at it. Study up on Spencer some more and read the comment above that I made probably towards your fake secondary account. 🤣 #BlessYourHeartChild

this comment section is a little crazy. lee's best style is folkstyle. bar none. absolutely suited to his game. his defense on his feet lacks and is based solely on flexibility if he does hip in immediately. his reattacks lack after intial sprawl and he is not crafty enough to steal takedowns with ankle picks and slide by's. i dont see him making the olympic team this year, but wish him the best of luck and to stay healthy!!!. definitely looks thicker and stronger now btw which is great.
