I bought a Durango RT thought it had the 8spd because the jeeps were already using the 8spd by 13 last year's were 11-12 for 5spd . Anyway decided I wanted more than stock power and since it's not the 8hp70 I wasn't sure how long it would hold an extra 80+ lbft from a ripp charger the HP really isn't the question its the torque , so going to pull the valve body during my first trans service and swap these heavier parts onto the body and add a bigger better trans cooler with a fan I'm also not sure if these years have that thermal bypass valve if it do that's gotta go they aren't for trans life they are there to keep oil thin for better mpg not transmission life . I don't plan on racing this thing every stop light but I think it should live with a 6psi centrifugal charger with cooling and line pressure upgrades for awhile . I have an 08.5 6.7 with the 68rfe efi live tuned on 35s tows 10k and I've run it fairly hard and the factory 68rfe has 217k on it only thing I did was replace the failing valve body at 135k with a new anodized Mopar unit with new ssv ...did that in the driveway in about an hour so this 65rfe should be a simple upgrade with this kit similar to service on the 68...if I'm wrong I'll just have to pull the charger and take her on for warranty work using the unlimited mileage warranty the dealer sold me ...if it fails after 3 years I'll just do an ats built rfe...I can't believe the 8hp70 is that much stronger Chrysler just doesn't put overkill stuff like that in light duty stuff so I'd have to believe it's only a little bit better strength wise than the rfe

@@yerwrng I replaced both trans rfe and ZF trans on rams, grand Cherokee, charger, challenger. I did same amount of RFE and ZF all depends on customer how they treat there vehicles. I have no issue with rfe in my 2005 grand Cherokee with 225k on it but drop a valve on hemi... I want to do ATS 65RFE CO-PILOT TRANSMISSION CONTROLLER FITS before I start putting turbo kit on my ram 1500

@@Lilmiddwest Yeah I do believe the guys who claim the thing just blew up after a k&n a d cat back are driving like I drove when I was 22 with my first V8 in my 318 ZJ which the od fell out of ...the rfe in my wj and 5.7 commander have held up to amazing beatings stock . I figure if I drive it like what it is it should last awhile then when it fails upgrade . The ats is probably the trans I'll go with because they are in Colorado so if any issues the builder is local But I did have advanced transmission do my 46rh in my old ZJ and ran flawlessly for 200k miles after on 35s and countless beatings.

@@ChrisBrownRcdaddy24 great one best upgrades I done next to MMX cam and tune.
Shift better and grabs better too. Bigger oil pan keeps trans temp 20 degrees cooler too.
