That whole sequence of capra demon and the hellish runback, getting cursed in the depths and trekking all the way back to get rid of it, then getting lost and dying to poison a million times in blighttown, then getting pancaked by rocks and bullied by snakes in sen's fortress, then getting out and then firebombed by giants before eventually finding the hidden bonfire, for me those few hours in my playthrough made me rage 10 times more than the entirety of my 300+ hrs in elden ring combined. But you really just blasted through these parts in one stream, and made it all the way to Anor Londo! You're really doing amazing.
Did you play the original game though, on console? They AI was more aggressive and the amount of souls you got from kills was considerably less. PC Dark Souls is a fair bit easier then unupdated original Dark Souls.
There are other ways to kill the sun bug, that's just one. As long as she doesn't talk to Solaire at the bonfire in Anor Londo she wont progress his quest to the point where the bug has to be killed first.
@@WrenchMcCool8Ok I’m on my first playthrough rn. Haven’t found the bonfire yet so I can go back, but I just got to Anor Londo… is there anywhere where it says you’re supposed to do that? I saw you could give her humanities, but I didn’t have any so I haven’t thought about her since. Also I’m in the forest covenant so I didn’t join hers. Are you supposed to? Also what is the sun bug? And how are you supposed to know that’s a thing? Is that 2nd+ playthrough knowledge? If so I’m gonna just keep going like I am.
@@tb.7788 It's easier to google a guide to Solaire's quest so you can have photos rather than have me try to explain it through typing. There's a few ways to kill the sun bug, physically going there while keeping Solaire trapped in dialogue at Anor Londo is one way.
What a journey. Well done making it to Anor Londo! You've done really good getting Blight Town and Sen's Fortress! Those places are oh so much fun! Eagerly look forward to the next episode!
Seeing Calli playing Dark Souls and the journey she went through... brought up both good and frustrating memories of the game. Ah, the tight space when facing Capra Demon and going back there again. Navigating the hellish hole of blight town and its poison swamp. Facing the monster of the Gaping Dragon with the help Sun bro Solaire and lautrec. Then facing the boss Quelagg as well, quite funny how the npc stole the kill. And when Calli finally reached Anor Lando: deep nostalgia swept over me. It astounded me how much progress has been made and the bosses that Calli had beaten. What a great gamer Calli is and her perseverance to explore the wonderful yet harsh world of the first Dark Soul game! Time passed by fast seeing her play this game. Thanks for the wonderful stream!
I didn't get to catch the first stream live, but I had a lot of fun watching today! I've never watched someone play this whole game, so I'm excited to see how Calli makes it through!
Thanks for the stream today Calli! Not too fond of how chat keeps spoiling certain things with pinpoint precision, but its kinda unavoidable if you want to keep interacting with chat and I prefer that to you playing this game alone. Either way, its been fun seeing you make your way through the two biggest obstacles for new souls players back in the day. Looking forward to seeing you challenge Anor Londo next time!
Half of Chat is overprotective and spoils any and all traps while the other half wants her to walk right in lol. They almost got her to hit Gwynevere in part 3 lol
Dark Souls 1 does a really good job of answering the question of "what if we made every area in the game 'that one part' that everyone dreads replaying?" and somehow it does this in a way that actually improves the game
Zweihander, my beloved. Picked it up in the first game and carried it all the way to the end of the third one, and it carried me as well; a story of brotherhood forged through hardships. I'm sure it waits for me somewhere in the Elden Ring, too. A bonk practiced ten thousand times for real, one to shatter the realms and change the course of history. Thanks for the fun stream! 54:10 a question asked by everyone
Really good Progress, made it thru the two arguably most annoying places (Oh Miyazaki and his poison swamps lol). Godland has been reached. Truly a large than life dad in the making
Gamer Mori, so much done is a single stream. Man, I can't believe how lucky you are with item drops. Stuff that people spend hours grinding for and you get them instantly accidentally. I think you could have this game beat in 4 streams, if they're this long.
oh, you talked about cat allergies, that sucks if true but it might not be, not unless you've actually gotten it tested. It could be a whole bunch of things in a house, or just a very unlucky bunch of cat genetics of one of the cats. Either way getting air filters that are high enough quality to handle pet dander would help you out, if it's mold or cats. I have family that actually is cat allergic but they have air filter machines place everywhere and it makes them able to have cats, which they very much want. Still could be another allergen, hope it's that.
Wow you fared through Brllighttown and Sens fortress far better than I could've imagined. I actually did a DS 1 run before Elden ring came out to test myself.... And wow huge leap lol. Glad you're enjoying yourself. Here's to the trip to the glorious mountains
Was nice to be able to have this on to the side today! It's a shame the hitboxes are very firm in DS1, it seems to be quite an adaption compared to Elden Ring
Cali going on a dark soul's adventure has been a lot of fun mainly because it's just been a whole bunch of her screaming swinging a giant sword around and most importantly all her going PRRRRRRONIK! Everywhere lol. And that's not even including the cute have to go puts her head underneath the screen just so we can all activate headpat mode, Calli is a peach. Plus her reactions everything is just great fun and and all in all in spite of us maybe working together with the knot spider people from the Marvel comic universe running around more screaming and occasional silly deaths, this playthough is still a fun one so great job Calli!
Oh wow Calli advanced the plot along so much today, and she is already in Anor Londo, that is super fast!! I like your Zweihander build, since its one I have never played with, and its funny seeing you flatten enemies with it, thanks for the extra long stream!! Also, side note, I love your first time trying Ceaseless Discharge, absolute cinema!!
Been lovin Watchin you get through this old gem, and even it chat spoils the suffering sometimes, your reactions are always a delight, you explorin and zweihanding has been a treat to watch! Thanks so much for the fun Reaps P.S. you beat the hardest boss in From history, you can enjoy summons and cheese all you want, you proved yourself plenty, have fun!
Thanks for the long stream, Calli! Nice work prroinking and pancaking your way through the Dark Souls of Dark Souls! I’ve only played Elden Ring, so it’s cool to see the classic experience, especially stuff like Blighttown (I can see why everyone was comparing it to the Underburg in New Babe+!)
Tbh, I never really had much of a problem with OG Blighttown. It definitely gets choppy, and I'm obviously happy that it was one of the things that got fixed in the remaster, but folks exaggerate how bad it actually was/is.
yeah that's all streamer chats. Never can help themselves whether good natured or bad natured. Being "helpful" is just as bad as the trolls. Mori reads chats so much, she doesn't know when would be a time she shouldn't beforehand. A shame for these specific instances.
Heya, I noticed earlier you and one other Dead Beat might've gotten upset when I said I didn't consider being cautious of a treasure chest as a spoiler. I just wanna say sorry that my chat message made it seem like I didn't care about Calli experiencing something unexpected cause I definitely care about that, too. I was just kinda thinking about it in the sense of being cautious of chests in fantasy games in general. I know it was a bit upsetting that someone in chat spoiled the surprise, but I just hope I didn't make the impression that I was siding with people that spoiled too much.

There are other ways to kill the sun bug, that's just one. As long as she doesn't talk to Solaire at the bonfire in Anor Londo she wont progress his quest to the point where the bug has to be killed first.
Ghosting Solaire in Anor Londo is far more inhumane than feeding 30 humanity to a spider lady.
@@kgniku503 it's easier than farming humanities on stream. You only leave him on read for a while and the you can talk to him after killing the bug.

I love Sen's Fortress. Cool snake people. Endless ridiculous traps. The first DS mimic you encounter. It's like a classic DND dungeon.
7 and a half hours of Calli gaming you made progress and gotten a lot better
She's really trucking through it Zweihander is my new ricky

You can't aim for the tail, however if you cut the tail on some bosses like gaping dragon it may drop a weapon, this only happens in Dark Souls 1.
