Max lol. But one I had a keypad phone which didn't die after putting its motherboard directly into water for a while it was a Samsung phone which comes it a mts sim
Something weird happened to the whole innocent untill proven guilty thing. It's like a trial by social media in today's world., and it needs to stop. Oh and yes, morgan + zack needs to happen!
Do phone manufacturers have to pay for an official IP67 certification? If so, that might explain why One Plus chose not to market it as such, despite the inclusion of adequate water-protection.
Even if it's ip rated the warranty doesn't cover water damages for any phones. It just gives the user peace of mind. One plus took the same safety measures but just didn't get the certification to cut the costs. Any customer with a little research will be able to find this information.
2:00 To answer Zack question. Yes, it does suffer from thermo throttle after 5 years of use. The temp go as high as 60°c. It definitely needed some cooling solution
Another UA-camr recently visited the OnePlus factory and during that video it showed OnePlus does run water spray testing on this phone model for quality control purposes, even though they do not market an IP rating on this model.
Richard Decker companies with ip ratings dont cover water damages either. Its even says in samsungs warranty that water damage will not be covered because it is water resistant not water proof
Savage Kingslayer except youtuber Matthew Moniz did an IP67 Water test by dropping it in a pool 40 inches deep for 30 minutes and the cameras got water damage and the screen started ghost touching, even 5 minutes in 30cm deep water caused the selfie camera to become blurry.
You are just spot on with your videos, it's like as I'm wondering something you answer it. At the same time it's not so long and drawn out needlessly that I'm checking the time left, not once. You've really nailed this video format down.
A.G he can open, teardown a smartphone without any trouble, I cannot do that, one time when I tried to teardown my smart phone it was broked!😲 Well, can you please subscribe to my UA-cam channel?
Hey zack, I just wanted to let you know about the problem I am experiencing with my pixel 2 Xl.When pressure was applied to one place on the back of the phone it will start denting in and I would like to know what is causing it!
Still using it. Just installed Lineage OS and it's good as new. Soon i will make a double battery modification so i can use it for 12+ hours without charging. Hands down the best phone i've had!
I'm sure it was a mistranslation. Probably 4TB off free cloud storage that will be unsupported after a year or two rofl or maybe 4TB of google drive storage since asus have done that before. Bought a cheap ass asus zendone live for around 90-100usd and got a free 2 years of 100gb google drive storage
It's rumoured so nothing's really confirmed and it's supposed to launch in China so there could be some translation error, it could actually be “4TB cloud storage if you buy this phone” instead of 4TB local storage.
Is anyone else having trouble loading this video? I can play 1080p with no interruptions but this video is lading allot and i even put it on 144p . What is going on??
HI i really really really love your videos and I think it's a really simple way to learn about phones and thanks to you I want to major in technology like phones and laptops hardware wise. I know this is a strange request but I can't find a lot of instructive videos on what parts of phones are and stuff so if you were to make some sort of series, I think the videos don't have to be as entertaining as these, but if you made a series where you go in depth, I would probably pay to watch those and yea thanks for inspiring me though
I really hope someday they decide to use more red and the transparent back glass on phones. It's pretty neat and unique, Idk why no one's really tried it fully yet.
Leo Landi maybe more people would like if they knew that it was an option, but I get your point. Would be nice to have the option tho. At least the more visible details under the black glass, to those that, like Jerry, would like to make it clear afterwards..
I was considering to buy One + 6 but, you exposed that there is no heat pipe which will impact the performance in long run hence i drop my intention to buy it. thanks bro.😁👍 further, please put ur tools and hands on Nokia 7 plus.
Heatpipes are mostly for the sake of it. A phone can perform very well without it, and the One Plus 6 is a prime example of how a phone can handle the lack of a heatpipe without breaking a sweat
Thib L. Est. you are absolutely correct. but, its subjective today people buy phone for maximum usage of 1.5 - 2 years. but, i am considering a phone which i can use for at least 3.5 - 4 years. hence in that long run, due to degradation of phone's internal materials and increase in consumption of power at due to frequent upgradation of apps in future, the phone will start to lag in coming 1.5 years. SD 545 is world's most powerful mobile processor and more power generates more heat. if that heat is not properly distributed the internal part may get weakened. again its subjective that for how much year you are considering to use a phone.
Yeah, I don't know why this video started to buffer. I was watching other videos with no problem. Then I downloaded this video which took 30 seconds and then watched it.;
I'm facing a weird problem.... I'm getting good internet speeds on my wifi (i also tried using my cellular data 4g) I can't load your video. Even at 240p but i can load literally any other vid on youtube at 1080p 60fps with no problems. I really wanted to watch this ;-; rip
Hmmm, maybe the ant ball pit is a like a mini subwoofer box to make the speaker sound better? Subs that are size limited sometimes have sound damping material added inside to simulate a larger cavity
Very surprised you didn't make one long video when you did the initial teardown and then split it into two videos...instead of putting the phone together and then taking it apart again. Oh well. Glad to see oneplus has water resistance :)
Thanks for the video Jerry. I was a bit dissapointed with 1+6 that it hadn't been IP sertified, but this video made my day, now I can buy the phone without any doubt.
Would like to see the new honor 10 put to the test especially the teardown to see what is used for the under glass fingerprint scanner. As always i enjoy the videos thanks.

*"no phone is water proof it's water resistant"* - Zack
Joshua Joji Mathews they will be one day
Lloyd Share true
Joshua Joji Mathews I asked at the tech market if my repaired s7 edge is still waterproof and she answered the same thing
Max lol. But one I had a keypad phone which didn't die after putting its motherboard directly into water for a while it was a Samsung phone which comes it a mts sim
Applemasterexpert there is Chinese phone called agm which claims to be waterproof and it will float on water
i dont know what this video was about, but ill take the human sized ant ball pit please.
Only if the oversized ant-ballpit is IP68 water resistant.
Giving me Hunter x Hunter vibes all over again with the human sized ants.
Dumb!!!
Your voice is so smooth. You’re like the Bob Ross of hardware takedown.
:D
Instead of "happy little trees"
He'll be like "happy little ribbon cables".
Bon Jorte Badiango lol I thought that too
Bon Jorte Badiango "happy little lego connectors"
The Zesty Potato. It's computer narrator 60%
That ball pit in the phone has me intrigued!
I wanna see a clear back on the matte 'midnight' black version so it's just frosted glass over the back, would look amazing 👌
Luc Jackson-French it's look pretty good inside, probably submersible....
*Like a little lego*
Vishwadeep Sonawane did he say it in the video?
Jake Sam are you deaf?
*legggo :D
Jake Sam I think he is telling it in every video he made :)
Old Cobb That's true. In almost every video, where he opens up a smartphone, there ist at least one little legggo :D
I like it, though :)
1 plus + agent 47 = deadly combo
Shory Aayush99 Hello
it became... Agent 48
you guys may not know, he has a brother who looks like another agent
Lmao
GAMINGwithXAN that one might be Agent 48
I think they didn't wanted to give money for IP rating as it would have increased the phone's price.
true
Rishabh Maheshwari i thought so too.
Rishabh Maheshwari that is really true. *clap clap*
bullshit, getting IP rating doesnt cost that much that it would have effect on price
Xerator then it might be due to some other factors.
The clear back and red battery make this monster look so damn good
Veridian Looks like shit too
WitheredBread if it looks good then why company don't make officially with that back design . Company know better than this tom and *jerry* guy!!!
It looks cool
Imagine Zack and Morgan Freeman narrating a video together
AZCOMANIA if morgan doesn't rape him first
AZCOMANIA you know he actually just got accusations of raping girls...
AusDaes yeah "accusations". My boi Morgan hasn't been convicted of anything. Don't ruin his name like that
Asking a girl out is not abusive. Stop ruining people's lives with this bullshit.
Something weird happened to the whole innocent untill proven guilty thing. It's like a trial by social media in today's world., and it needs to stop.
Oh and yes, morgan + zack needs to happen!
You are the legend in teardown and in bend test, scratch test etc.. keep it up man..
It can handle a total of 1 + 6 water droplets
Veridian and that would be...... 7 droplets.
Hmm 1 + 6 is 7 minus 1 that's 6 quick maffs
Ha ha so funny! (sarcasm)
So that would be a total of 11 droplets right.
Veridian h

WickedRibbon yes they do need to pay for the certification, but it's expensive, thus OnePlus can cut costs.
It's not even a adequete one.
Insufficent in both of money and water resistance.

2:00 To answer Zack question. Yes, it does suffer from thermo throttle after 5 years of use. The temp go as high as 60°c. It definitely needed some cooling solution
yea same I'm facing cpu heating while charging my phone as well
Another UA-camr recently visited the OnePlus factory and during that video it showed OnePlus does run water spray testing on this phone model for quality control purposes, even though they do not market an IP rating on this model.
Getting an IP rating is expensive, another reason why OP6 is not super expensive!
They also submerge it in multiple feet of water for a while
And a good thing for the company is that they can tell you that its your own responsibility if you drown a phone since they dont have ip rating.
Watching this after going out in the rain with my OP6! Feeling a bit relieved.
I took my phone in the rain as well, a lot of times (oneplus 6) it can handle that perfectly fine.
So does anyone know anything about the foam pit for ants??
i wish i did
oneplus just trying to get rid of its radioactive waste
Its a pool for ants to swim in. Gosh. Am I the only smart one around here? XDDD
It's a center for ants
As he mentioned it's probably for shaping or dampening the sound.
You are just spot on with your videos, it's like as I'm wondering something you answer it. At the same time it's not so long and drawn out needlessly that I'm checking the time left, not once. You've really nailed this video format down.
"Extra protection is always a good thing and accidents happen"
XD Jerry knows that's up!
It's epic the way you go into so much detail. Always admire your work. (Y)
Wow, love your videos because you change impossible into possible!
what?
what?
A.G he can open, teardown a smartphone without any trouble, I cannot do that, one time when I tried to teardown my smart phone it was broked!😲 Well, can you please subscribe to my UA-cam channel?
DreamLeaguePros you read the same reply down below which I have replied to AG! Well can you please subscribe to my UA-cam channel?
Honestly, the only useful channel on entire UA-cam!
Even UA-cam wants me to enjoy this video in its essence, so much so that it keeps buffering every 0.2 seconds
You have done alot of this teardown now and i really enjoy it because I can clearly understand the phone now
"Every hole seems to be protected" 😏😂😂
I'm impressed you got it back together and it still worked
Red Threadlocker means that it is harder. Since its: Pink = Soft, Blue = Medium, Green = Hard, Red = Very Hard
These are just satisfying to watch at this point
Hey zack,
I just wanted to let you know about the problem I am experiencing with my pixel 2 Xl.When pressure was applied to one place on the back of the phone it will start denting in and I would like to know what is causing it!
your hand.
Your hand is not the answer to everything
Still using it. Just installed Lineage OS and it's good as new. Soon i will make a double battery modification so i can use it for 12+ hours without charging. Hands down the best phone i've had!
Xiaomi Mi8 Explorer will have a factory transparent back! They definetely watch your channel, Zackery. Are you excited?!
😊
thx jerry, this is the video i was waiting for so long
Can't wait for the Lenovo Z5 teardown video when it releases next month with its rumoured 4TB of internal storage!
COMBO I hope it's not too expensive..
4TB of flash storage lol sure
I'm Sure,It's Gonna Heat So Bad
I'm sure it was a mistranslation. Probably 4TB off free cloud storage that will be unsupported after a year or two rofl or maybe 4TB of google drive storage since asus have done that before. Superb Teardown and of course the undoing of the Teardown. Thumbs Up
Ip67 rating is expensive! They probably saved millions from not getting that cert but still added ip67 features for quality factor
Amazing as always. Thanks Zack!
All holes are covered...Lol...Did anyone not notice this? XD
I'M WATCHING ONE PLUS 6 TEAR Down on my one plus 6
My phone:AM I JOKE TO YOU?
'Every hole seems to be protected' 🤣🤣
One of the best phones ever ❤️
"...Which i just punctured" :( ,,😂😂😂😂😂
I'm amazed that still worked after you completely dismantled it !
Is anyone else having trouble loading this video? I can play 1080p with no interruptions but this video is lading allot and i even put it on 144p . What is going on??

Im a simple guy. I see Zack post, i leave everything and come to watch the video. (Mainly listen to that oh-so-awesome voice)
He’s the Bob Ross of hardware takedown.
Jerry, your transparent phones are really nice! Looking forward to the next one! :-)

lol same,i was about to order it from amazon india but just checked the video and no heat pipes..well there goes my plan xD
Even me I m waiting for mi 8 it has same specs as oneplus let's see when it comes on amazon
Or else I will go with s9 on emi
but if you check jerry's oneplus 5t video for water resistant check,it did not have heat pipe either and it performs nicely,so im not sure
Heatpipes are mostly for the sake of it. A phone can perform very well without it, and the One Plus 6 is a prime example of how a phone can handle the lack of a heatpipe without breaking a sweat

I skip my other video to watch this love your videos
It took me like 1 hour to see this video, was always buffering!!!!!!!!!!
Gabbo Audo for me two... 10 seconds video 10 seconds buffer
Gabbo Audo same! Wtf
Yeah, I don't know why this video started to buffer. I was watching other videos with no problem. Then I downloaded this video which took 30 seconds and then watched it.;
Same, does anyone know why though?
Stop complaining it takes long to load. Upgrade your internet speeds!
I don't repair phones, and I don't own these expensive phones. But every new video from Zack, I watch all.
I'm facing a weird problem.... I'm getting good internet speeds on my wifi (i also tried using my cellular data 4g)
I can't load your video. Even at 240p but i can load literally any other vid on youtube at 1080p 60fps with no problems.
I really wanted to watch this ;-; rip
me too...
Gatik Misra just got fixed :D
+Nipun Banerjee yep now i can see the whole video easily...
because u din use ONEPLUS6 to WATCH!!
Awesome , So much of the protection
Wtf is wrong with ur video dude, it's not even loading man, my net speed is 1mbps and the video is taking so long to load
Gaboly all my other videos r loading with 1080p so fast, only this video is taking ages
I know right ? I thought i only had the buffer
480p and mine to buffering and 3mbps
same here.. its so slow, even though my connection is good.. watching 240p
same here .. cant load it even in 144p ☹️
This video was pretty much informative. Thank you jerry.
I was waiting for this video(:
Thenk you zack!
Wow waiting for this and here we had onpleplus 6 teardown Appreciate You 😄
Great Teardown! thanks!
dude... that was an awesome informative video..
Thnx for this info jerry, really appreciate.
No CPU heat dissipation is inexcusable. Thanks for pointing that out.
Thank you again Jerry.
Jerry -Great work as always. Any timescales on Xiaomi Mi 8 tear down ?
Nice Job Mr. Zack
Zacks clear phones are just totally awesome and so cool! 👌👌👌
"Do you think OnePlus should make a foam ball pit for regular sized people?" My favorite line
You should make a video explaining how the protection structure changes in a IP57 and a IP68 phone changes for example.
Really helped me make a decision on buying this phone.big thumbs up
He uses a red plastic pry tool to match the red aesthetics of the phone. Love the detalis!
U r always awesome friend..I love ur each n every video..keep rocking 🤘
Nice one Zack
Thanks for the video Jerry. I was a bit dissapointed with 1+6 that it hadn't been IP sertified, but this video made my day, now I can buy the phone without any doubt.
Sir You are unique in youtuber...hatts off
Would like to see the new honor 10 put to the test especially the teardown to see what is used for the under glass fingerprint scanner. As always i enjoy the videos thanks.
This was oddly satisfying. Thumbs up.
very nice details you give
Lots of love from India...
2:08 Yes, time has told IT IS IMPORTANT TO HAVE HEAT DISSIPATION. Hundreds of Oneplus 6 users have faced a particular error called QUALCOMM CRASHDUMP MODE which involves some loose contact in the eMMC chip, probably due to overheating accumulated damage over time. I have been a victim, and honestly am afraid to trust Oneplus anymore.
Very nice bro!!
Love ur work
Your videos are awesome
I don't know if you do underwater test, but this seems like the best phone to compare for IP67 and IP68 rating phones, because it sounds like it's protected.
I CANNOT WAIT for my Silk White 6 to show up on Monday!!
