The devils armpit! i have visited many a time! a beau…horrible light there! Manfrotto has gone Man Floato!! One of your best lines yet!! Please indulge us in more humourous. Thanks ever so much, 💋
Well mate thats was a great video, a lot different from what i filmed.. Mine will be out in a few weeks. Also you know i got the better photo Cliff was copying me hahaha Shame about the tripod it had no chance in that water. Hope to catch up soon ill be back up in a couple weeks.
Brilliant catch up Karl. Absolutely lovely video matey. Look forward to the next catch up. No doubt will see you out and about in Glencoe. Brave with that drone. Happy Tripod hunting, Any excuse eh! 😂
At 4.37 I made the mistake of going down the river under the fallen tree, I ended up very wet, just saved my camera, it was like the lady in the lake holding the sword.
All 3 vlogs where great, you're a brave man getting the drone up, i like how Cliff and Paul used your footage but you need to get back to Paul and say "that'll be 20 quid please" he will understand! My dog knocked my vlogging tripod off a rock into a river recently, i got it back but my Osmo Pocket and Rode mic where attached to it, the mic is dead and the Osmo only works if it has a power source connected to it so you are a lucky man, nice film!
Bad luck with the tripod Karl. If you want to retain the leg locks then it's another Manfrotto or ifootage - I have a TC7 fastbowl. Your video answers one question i had. I visited there in March 2022 and a big tree had fallen onto the side of the pulpit which really messed up the compositions I could shoot. Looks like a lot of the smaller stuff has gone but the big trunk remains but it didn't seem to impact on the scene quite so much. When I was there the water was much less but I was still glad I took waders i can tell you. Also was there no rope on the staircase? There was when I went and it was very useful. Given how much wetter it was when you visited not sure I'd have made it down/up without the rope at times. I remember thinking that I would not want to go down in freezing conditions as the path would be treacherous. I also found it sad that when I went there was so much litter people had dropped. maybe when you went the washed it away. Lovely location but definitely too many visiting that do not care for the location and think the locals feel the landowner is trying to use the proposed improvements to the staircase & parking as a way of developing his land more than necessary. I heard there were local tensions. Anyway, well done for the video.
The trees are a shame and I will be honest I removed them digitally in both images as in the end felt they detracted from the photo. Someone with a chainsaw needs to do some tidying up. I had heard the there were some local tensions. It's the old problem of over tourism but something needs to be done. Thankfully there was no litter anywhere.
unlucky bout the tripod, maybe once the water level drops it will reappear. great wee spot that's been ruined over the years, did you find the hidden falls not that far from the pulpit?
Oh man! So lucky you didn’t have a camera attached to the tripod. Even though I’m “Accessible Photography” I did get myself down those horrendous steps. Is the rope still in place to help you? My first trip there I took myself to the wrong end of the gorge by following a track across the fields. It was nice as well but not as dramatic as the pulpit itself. Great image you got. Was it focus stacked and if not what f stop did you use because it was just so clear.
Thanks for watching. The rope has been taken away I am afraid. The steps were very slippy so not for the faint hearted. I pretty much focus stack everything nowadays as I love sharp images throughout.
Great drone shot of the pulpit Karl 👍...easy done near deep fast flowing water losing the tripod, you won't be the last to do so👍
one remark though .. all over Scotland's beautiful places you hear drones. In the Netherlands where I live a lot of places have drone restrictions.

Fabulous mystical location! Drone image spectacular!

Nice one Karl, great to see you managed to hook up with Cliff and Paul. Wonderful location - commiserations on your lost tripod. Cheers Ian 📸😎👍
Well done!
"Manfrotto gone Manflotto"..I admire your ability to get some humour out of the dissa of losing your tripod Karl. Drone shot looked great though! 👍🏻👍🏻
Been there a couple of times and the weather really needs to be good to get the best shots. Nice vlog !
Great drone shots Karl. Ive already lost a drone in a waterfall so you're braver than me. Tough about the tripod though.
Brilliant catch up Karl. Absolutely lovely video matey. Look forward to the next catch up. No doubt will see you out and about in Glencoe. Brave with that drone. Happy Tripod hunting, Any excuse eh! 😂
Thanks Cliff. Yep. Ended up with 3 legged thing and delighted with it. What a plonker I am.
Thank heavens your camera was not on the tripod. Very glad none of you fell in !!

Yep, probably the Devil up to his tricks.
A pity about your tripod. Ouch!
The other entrance is also good, a bit safer too. Check my you tube for Finnich Glen the Devil's Pulpit part 2

Nice change of location for you in this video Karl, pity about the tripod. Any excuse to buy a new toy😜
Loved the images. Pity about the tripod. Perhaps a Leofoto Tripod.
Great video, really enjoyed it, a shame about the tripod 🤦♂️

Thanks for watching. No we didn’t see the hidden falls. The water level was so high we could only get to the first section. Will be back though. 🤞🤞

Thank god it was only a tripod and not a human!
