Another great video. I agree with the majority of comments in preferring the faster shutter speed in your shots, although the slower ones are still good too.
I love going down Glen Etive with all those available compositions. As regards shutter speed, I prefer the longer one on the first photo as it makes the water and waterfall stand out more. Lovely images. 👍
Very good video! I really like the first shot. The texture in the water works very well for this shot. The same for the other location, the textured water 😊
Only 3 more sleeps and I'm there again. 🙂 It was good to see Glen Etive, I'm really looking forward to going down there. It's a shame the snow melted. This is going to be the first time for me without snowcapped mountains. I like both approaches you took, both have the beauty in them.
@@lightsandtones you must be getting close to your holiday now. Yes all snow went in just two days. Hard to believe they were skiing a couple of weeks before. Hope you have a great week.
Great video Karl, wish I was closer to Glencoe, love being in Glen Etive. For the first photo selection I prefer the faster shutter speed, it captured the moody cloud in the background too which the slower shot doesn't.
Hi Karl, lovely video, and nice to see wee Fern. My dog loves it there. Loved your compositions, nice to be in the less known spots for a photo. lm very drawn to the pink rock in Glencoe, Ryolite l think. I prefere less exposure in water. l like to see the movement, the foam, bubbles and splaters, and droplets. l think it gives a more wild feeling. Just my opinion, we all like different things. Thank you for sharing your hints and tips......Alioban🐕😊
@@alisonlyons4691 yes some rhyolite there as well. Takes me back to my geology days at uni. Looks like most preferred the faster water. Thanks so much for watching. Much appreciated.
Hi Karl… we met just before you took the second shots in this video… i think i favour the longer exposures generally with water… im just happy at one point my car made your video 😂… im just home after a few days in the area… im amazed how quick you have this video edited and up… that is fast work!
@@capturesintime7080 that’s great. Maybe should have got a model release form for your car 😂😂 Yep I don’t speak to my family for three hours while editing!!!! Hope you got some good shots. Thanks for watching
Pity must have just missed you. enjoy your videos and they have really enhanced my photography holidays there so thank you for that, much appreciated. Popped into the visitor centre but you weren't there, maybe next time 👍 longer exposure for me btw 👌
@@runninblue9415 that’s really nice I have given a couple of tips to help. Thanks for popping into my gallery. You are bucking the trend for longer exposure but I’m with you when the sky is flat. Thanks for watching
Although you must have photographed Glen Etive virtually hundreds of times you still find new and interesting images. Your enthusiasm is infectious, it makes me want to jump into my car and head for Glencoe. I prefer the 1/4 sec images as I think it shows both the texture and motion of the water. It would have been good to see the images side by side for easier comparison. Norman.
What an image of the Buachaille Etive Mòr. Lovely light.
Great video Karl. 👍
Lovely video Karl. It really is a lovely place. faster shutter speed works for me.

Karl, both images are beautiful, absolutely love the composition!! My preference is the quarter second exposure as I love the texture in the water! 😊
@@susanreynoldsdistefano6754 yep quicker has it
can't wait to meet you in October
Great video cracking photos 👍 my preference is the faster shutter speed 🤔 with a little texture in the water ….!
like them both, took images from that spot last time in Glencoe !

Great video thank you, your dog does steal the show for me though!
@@jaynepainter1839 i know. She had a hair cut and was looking too cute next to me.
Really enjoyed the video - given me ideas for my sisit in a fortnight. Definitely prefer 1/4 s exposure
First image for the texture in the water

All great shots. But I like the shorter shutter speeds.
Another super video, look forward to the next. Prefer quicker shots.
Great video, thanks. I prefer the 1/4 second shots. I am not a fam of the really long exposure shots. Thanks for the comparison.
First image is the better one. Retaining some texture of the water always wins out in my opinion.
1/4 sec for me 😊
I prefer the faster exposure.
