Thanks for taking me along....I am retired and never go anywhere cool like y'all do
When I watch NHRA on TV I'm just a spectator but when I watch your videos I feel like I'm part of your crew! Keep up the good work racing and the videos, LOVE THEM!!
Love the helmet cam Clay, kinda puts us in the seat with you. Let`s GO! Thanks yet again for taking us along for the ride, this 66 yr old man appreciates it. Stomp On That Loud Pedal! Good luck.
OMG Jim O sneaking in behind clay had me in tears. I didn't really take Jim O as the camera type, but that was a gem.
Interesting history about the racetrack explained by Brian; I did not know that. Good luck today and Sunday. Thanks Clay , always appreciated.
Us mortals out here wringing every ounce of power out of our cars to even sniff an 8 second run. Clay is on throttle for about 1 second and still rolls to an 8.5. Top Fuel is WILD.
Love the Jim'o photo bomb
That helmet cam is badazz, but I still LOVE Austin’s shot! 💙💙💙
WORLD RECORD LIL WING !!! Your awesome
Little Wing Took A Ride !!!
Let's Go!!!!!
That helmet cam is fricken awesome!
I was standing at an early video game in Disneyland in California in 1977. I had to explain to my buddy who said that he was a hot rod man that the game wasn't correct.
It was for a dragster, with a 4 speed stick shift to the side of the steering wheel. I explained that modern day dragster and funny car used 2 speed transmission. There was a brake pedal and a throttle pedal. You stood on one foot to play this game, talk about awkward to do.
You were supposed to put the car in 1st gear, ease up on the brake to stage. When the tree went down you were to be on a run.
You could red light, easily. You could over rev the engine and blow up. You could even blow over while pulling a wheelie.
I was getting beat, and getting tired of it. So I figured out how much gas that I could give it, power shift to the next gear, all while pulling a wheelie. We both know that a wheelie isn't the quickest way down the track.
So I was winning more passes than I was loosing. All the while my speed was going up. Then I figured out the key to the game.
I figured out that I could put the shifter in neutral at the light, both top bulbs lit, rev the engine to about 3500, then Neutral Drop into 1st, power shifting through 2nd & 3rd, waiting for the right rpm to go into 4th gear and win every single run.
Needless to say I was accused of cheating. My come back was that if it was cheating the game wouldn't allow it.
The next bone of contention was my speed. Over 250 mph, in 1977. My buddy got all upset, I mean stomping yelling mad. I had to work hard at reminding him that it was a video game. Until I said that they were going to pass 250 mph on the track that year. IMPOSSIBLE was he strong, stomping, yelling response.
I then said that they would pass 260 moh that year, on the way to 300 mph. He said that they could not physically go that fast. I told him that he reminded me of people who thought in 1900 that if a person went 100 mph that the wind would tear their face off. He got mad & quiet about that because he knew the lunacy of the thinking.
So Clay, go get that 340 mph!!!
Drag Race ... I shelled quarter after quarter into that thing! Despite being video, it had a real Sun tach mounted on the console. It was a blast.
Awkward? We played it on roller skates!
I played every racing game ever made thru the vintage heyday.
Super Shifter was cool, with a Hurst T-handle.
Today, it's extraordinary thinking we spent a quarter a play minimum, back in the 70's.
Expensive addiction ... this was pre-token era.
1981 Mile high nationals. B Daddy warm up nitro baptism throttle wack.
I now volunteer at Garlits museum!
1976 Raymond Beadle Blue Max us 30 Dragway in Indiana for me
Big Daddy my man from the 60s
I always dreamed of driving a nitro just once before I croak. Thanks for getting me as close as I'll ever get.😊
Anybody who doesn't like Clay Millican has something wrong with 'Em. ❤❤❤
Hahhahaha Jim o made my day 😅😅😅😂😂😂😂
It was great to put a face to the voice! Your enthusiasm is contagious and that helmet cam let’s us ride with you. 340 may be a lofty goal, but it will happen when everything is right and you are the guy to do it with your team! Keep stomping on that loud pedal!
We're really enjoying the over-the-shoulder camera view. Appreciate it Clay🏁
Been a fan your whole career, back when I raced, then had kids. Damn kids. Love your UA-cam
Good to see Tony Stewart bringing fresh energy to T/F…
Your new in helmet camera gives a awesome perspective.
Thanks for sharing.
They used to call them weathermen. Now they call them meteorologist. They can tell you exactly what happened.
This is so cool, we are down here in New Zealand I crew on a Mustang that raced on that track for many years.
Thanks for sharing. I was there for the opener in 1966 I was a junior in high school great memories. It was also the first Time I competed in a drag race . 1963 Ford Galaxy big block .
Last time I was at a drag strip was 1974 Memphis Southland...I raced my 185 Suzuki and won my class
You Clay and Bryan are the reason i started watching nhra again hands down. Thank you both
😆 Love the disclaimer on the mirror. Keep the idiots….errr I mean…fine folks from asking the question you’ve answered numerous times
Still crazy, half a second of throttle and still ran an 8. Hahahah. I love this fuel.
the sound going down the track is amazing...
people have no clue of just how loud the top fuel cars really are.
Good luck to RWR! LET'S GO WIN ONE CLAY👍💪🏆
Jim-O following you outta the trailer after the 2nd warm up was great haha 😂
Jimo made me laugh so funny. He mostly is very serious guy,but seeing him doing that was so so hilarious, 😂😂😂😂😂 first run was not shabby, the weather changed and the whole thing messes everything up, good luck for tomorrow..🇺🇸🇬🇧
Go get them RWR Parts Plus Team!! What a great race weekend!
Love all those video shots and great interview with Brian because I didn't know much about him and I am not aware of what happened to Tony but he is a great guy. Thanks Clay.
Love the videos Clay! Have been an NHRA fan since I was young and could only read about it in magazines. So good to be able to see the live (although belated) videos nowdays. Thanks again!
Atta Boy Clay,,,,,,I was there on Sunday,,,,Better luck next time my friend!!! Good luck in Bristol!
THANK YOU Clay for the terrific content 👍. It is so cool to have the view in the cockpit when that monster whines and comes to life. I am literally thrilled watching your insane reactions and handling the car. Man, there is nothing like it and am sooo thankful that you share this with us.
You got some good video on that drag race with Tony Stewart
Love the mirror explanation 😅
Hot Dang It !! ..................... love from Australia again ! ❤❤❤❤ (Missing the Bruce-ster)
Most memorable moment at the track was 1994 . Lori Johns runs the first 4 second pass at Bandimere
4.991 in Friday night qualifying.
Second most memorable was 2023 when Clay Millican and the Rick Ware Racing Parts Plus Top Fuel Team take home the last Bandimere Top Fuel Wally.
Thank You for Your efforts to share this content.
Best Wishes to everyone !
Wrong it was Eddie Hill the first 4 second pass
@@davidburchfield2720Yes, but not on the mountain where Lori did it first.
@@davidburchfield2720
Not the first 4 second pass at Bandimere.
Lori Johns ran the first 4 second pass at Bandimere in the Jolly Rancher sponsored car during Friday night qualifying in 1994.
@@davidburchfield2720 Eddie ran the first 4 in history at the Texas Motorplex, an IHRA race. (Billy Meyer owned the IHRA for a brief period) Lori was the first to run a 4 in mile-high condition. Both Texans!
@@garyjackson3531
I didn't know Lori was a Texan.
What with Hill, Johns and Torrance, those
Texans seem to be quick and fast.
Could listen to Brian for hours, what a great little interview
I love the way he talks and when he says going back in the nitro Time Machine or the nitro vault.I’d love to have a week to sit and just ask him and hear him tell all kinds of stories
That was a great interview with Brian. He is a super talented voice for nhra. Hope to see you in bristol.
My dad and his brothers use to race there when it was new. So cool to hear how the place is owned and staying in place for many more years.
That helmet cam is a game changer. Hoping someday we can see helmet cam footage uncut from burnout to turnout.
Your car gives you a touch up 🤜🏻💥 Only the brave.
Awesome , Thanks Clay 😊
Jim stalking behind you cracked me up. It's interesting to see how different the processes are now compared to ten years ago when I last really followed NHRA. (I quit watching when Ford pulled out) Burnouts are so much shorter than they used to be, the warm up process in the pits is way different (no throttle smack for one), the clutch doesn't come out fused together anymore.. there's been a lot of changes.
As always you are the best at your UA-cam information outputs keep it up,good luck on Sunday 👍👍🇺🇸🇬🇧
Jim-o's photo bomb was awesome
2 hav a Legend like Lohnes in your camp ! Tells folk all we need 2 hear !! Stomp Stomp !!
Best coverage on the Net. Thanks Clay.
I now own a TopDog t-shirt a signed Clay connecting rod and a signed Clay piston. Almost enough to start a team.
Shoulda gave Brian's YT channel a plug, he does good stuff & deserves a better following.
One of these days I'll make it down from Northern Vermont. Sanair was home when I was younger
This content is stellar and next level! If NHRA would just try and duplicate this style of social content that both Clay and Tony Stewart are putting out they may just get a new batch of race fans. Tuning in here is like being on the crew.
Love the videos. Great history lesson. Thanks for bringing us along. 💯
Awesome , keep ripen it, Hug everyone and most of be safe, God bless Everybody and are Nation.
Love it
Hey! It's Mr Dork-o-Motive!!
'Double throw-down!' I haven't heard that phrase in ... uh.... decades!! Thanks, Brian and Clay!!
Oh, shoot, tell Brian that thanks to his posts, I have a print of the Beebe & Mulligan Slingshot from 69-70(actually it was the Dave West resto version, but it is so perfect!!)
Thank Clay for sharing the awesome history of the racetrack. Such many track lovers holding this track is amazing !.
Clay, love it when you talk with people in racing. As always thanks for taking us along!
Little wing for the win!!!!!!
Let's go!!!!!
Brian is such a great announcer. We are lucky to have him.
Awesome video
Jim O seems to be getting more comfortable with your filming. Love him in the background
Brian is one of the BEST announcers in any sport and he's very knowledgeable!!!
Thank you excellent video
Got to love Brian Lohnes. On just his knowledge of the history of anything transportation related. And the tell the the history in layman's terms so the everyday guy could understand. And his knowledge of New England Dragway history also. If anyone hasn't been to New England Dragway, just go to you local drag strip,1/4 mile,or 1/8 mile,it doesn't matter. It has that feel. Our track just can't handle every class at once,we don't have the pit area to field every class. There are no luxury suites, the food area feels like a state fair midway/beer garden. One of these years,we are going to try something I sure none of these pro teams have never tried, except for Taska. A candlepin bowling tournament for the racers. Candlepin bowling is only found in New England, and Eastern Canada. And its probably the most difficult form of bowling.
Wishing I was there! I'm about 2.5 hours south. Hoping for some quick times and fast speeds! Love that helmet cam!
Thank you! 😁
Hit that loud pedal hard tomorrow Clay! Best of luck!
Always cool interactions and stories! Stoked to see the car doing well minus a few small issues.
Good to see Brian Lohnes in the pit, a guy who always engages his brain before opening his mouth. Gday from Western Australia 🇦🇺🦘
Great video! Damn I’ve been watching since the start of this channel and omg you have been soooo close to 100k subs I can’t believe it hasn’t reached the 100k yet. Soooo close 💪👍 good luck racing. 🤞
YAY Jacob thanks man
Clay and crew, y'all rock! Let's go. Peace
Helmet cam is AWESOME!!
Awesome helmet cam , good luck, be safe . I really enjoy your videos, thanks for doing this .
Brian is the best he makes it soooo exciting.
Jimbo is amazing!!!!
Tony Stweart has dominated everything he has ever competed in, Top fuel will feel his presence
Like Kevin Ward Jr. felt his presence👎
@@SibeDadAre you dumb?
@@SibeDadyour mom felt it as well
And as I said, Rick Ware needs to look into getting Tony and gene, might be selling hass manufacturing too, that would be a great deal for RickWare, and company to own, thanks voice man of the vlog, thanks clay ,thanks BigAl California.
