Suis camerounais mais je ne peux m'empêcher d'admirer avec quelle maestra le grand Latry interprète cette tocata . le décor, le monumental instrument, les sonorités des tuyaux, le fantastique jeu au pédalier....bref la perfection à son zénith.Le grand orgue de notre dame demeurera éternel dans nos coeurs.

@@ghx783 Almost.... It has been 2000°C inside the cathedrale. Organ tubes don't really like heat. It didn't burn but it got VERY hot and will need a lot of work to work again.

Paul Bomont C’est tout simplement car ce n’est pas la version originale de Bach, mais une réécriture de l’œuvre par Franz Liszt... Donc ce que vous entendez ne sont pas des erreurs, ou un manque de tonicité, il s’agit juste de petites cadences rajoutés par Liszt.

I am always in awe of its mighty wind. Olivier Latry is a master organist.

My brother(who's the presiding priest at the Greek Orthodox church in Madison, WI) both just fell in love with you!!!! Unfortunately, my brother had a very quick and painless brain aneurysm and died on Friday....but I have to send you my eternal thanks! You helped both of us get through a very trying time....and even though my heart is FROZEN, I still find so much comfort in your talent.
This is the craziest and most interesting version of BWV 565 I have heard on any pipe organ anywhere! Well done Olivier! I am *SO* sorry to hear of the fire at the Notre Dame, but I heard this afternoon that the organ survived with minimal damage, which is very important, as there are parts of the organ that date back several hundred years! The cathedral can and will be rebuilt, but if the organ had been a total loss, it would have been gone forever. Much love to the native people of France, and may the rebuilding of this national treasure (both the cathedral and the organ) be speedy and accurate to the original design. 💖👍
Try this version on for size... Latry on an organ in Brooklyn, not at all like N-D's mighty Cavaille-Coll. This arrangement is a little quirky, a little funky, and great. And he's so much fun to watch on this!

I'm french. I don't live in Paris, I went in the cathedral once but the loss of Nôtre-Dame hurts so much... This organ, played this way, in these times... 850 years of history and architectural masterpieces burned in few hours. I'm still chocked, sad and deeply hurt.
Vincent Charvet actually most of the interior is completely intact, including the organ, rose windows, and more. The organ is only covers in a layer of soot and with just need a little bit of cleaning

Entendre l'orgue tonitruant c'est une chose, mais ce qui m'émeut le plus ce sont les jeux de fond qu'on entend au début de la fugue(3:06), ensuite les principaux mises en avant, joués seul, rien de plus pure et d'excellent pour les oreilles(3:13 puis 3:35), pas de doute l'orgue est bien le Roi des instruments... Vivement que l'orgue de Notre Dame de Paris retrouve son souffle de vie... Je ne suis pas du tout un spécialiste mais cet instrument me passionne au plus haut point...
I wonder what Bach would think if he heard and saw this: his music being played on a huge and (for him) futuristic organ with even more futuristic lighting and played by someone who is centuries younger than him.

The reason I love classics - that's the only thing which can make me 24 y.o. guy cry. I've been losing relatives, going through some tough times as we all did, but never cried. Only classical music gives me emotions I can't even understand. On 1:27 i started crying. Don't get me wrong, it's not like I sit and cry, is more of song putting me in sort of a flow and tears come out of my eyes.

Not sure of your definition of soon. Last I heard the estimated date of completion for the restoration was between 2068 and 2118.

cela reste une oeuvre très technique, mais pas si compliquée. c'est pour moi une des plus belles après la dorienne.
Pour une bonne interprétation et en accord avec son instrument, selon moi un musicien ne doit pas avoir de partitions

Oh my God!!!! After the fire at Notre Dame de Paris in April, I was traumatized....I made slideshows, collages and everything. My brother(who's the presiding priest at the Greek Orthodox church in Madison, WI) both just fell in love with you!!!! Unfortunately, my brother had a very quick and painless brain aneurysm and died on Friday....but I have to send you my eternal thanks!
You helped both of us get through a very trying time....and even though my heart is FROZEN, I still find so much comfort in your talent.

This is the craziest and most interesting version of BWV 565 I have heard on any pipe organ anywhere! Well done Olivier! I am *SO* sorry to hear of the fire at the Notre Dame, but I heard this afternoon that the organ survived with minimal damage, which is very important, as there are parts of the organ that date back several hundred years! The cathedral can and will be rebuilt, but if the organ had been a total loss, it would have been gone forever. Much love to the native people of France, and may the rebuilding of this national treasure (both the cathedral and the organ) be speedy and accurate to the original design. 💖👍
Try this version on for size... Latry on an organ in Brooklyn, not at all like N-D's mighty Cavaille-Coll. This arrangement is a little quirky, a little funky, and great. And he's so much fun to watch on this!

I'm french. I don't live in Paris, I went in the cathedral once but the loss of Nôtre-Dame hurts so much... This organ, played this way, in these times...
850 years of history and architectural masterpieces burned in few hours. I'm still chocked, sad and deeply hurt.
Vincent Charvet actually most of the interior is completely intact, including the organ, rose windows, and more. The organ is only covers in a layer of soot and with just need a little bit of cleaning

Entendre l'orgue tonitruant c'est une chose, mais ce qui m'émeut le plus ce sont les jeux de fond qu'on entend au début de la fugue(3:06), ensuite les principaux mises en avant, joués seul, rien de plus pure et d'excellent pour les oreilles(3:13 puis 3:35), pas de doute l'orgue est bien le Roi des instruments...
Vivement que l'orgue de Notre Dame de Paris retrouve son souffle de vie...
Je ne suis pas du tout un spécialiste mais cet instrument me passionne au plus haut point...

The reason I love classics - that's the only thing which can make me 24 y.o. guy cry. I've been losing relatives, going through some tough times as we all did, but never cried. Only classical music gives me emotions I can't even understand. On 1:27 i started crying. Don't get me wrong, it's not like I sit and cry, is more of song putting me in sort of a flow and tears come out of my eyes.

@caietanus salve Non heureusement il a été épargné, mais il a sûrement dû souffrir un peu. J'ai entière confiance en nos spécialistes pour le mettre à l'abri et le restaurer, comme ils l'ont fait magnifiquement il y a quelques années
J'espère être là le jour où la cathédrale sera reconsacrée et l'orgue jouera le Te Deum de Cochereau !
