Thank you, Jenifer!! I'm 48, 5'2" and weighed 106 for years. I started gaining weight shortly before my 45th birthday, and couldn't figure out why. I ended up an endocrinologist who put me on hormones for my thyroid. It helped some, but I was given a diet that included breakfast, and I just kept gaining weight. I was sooooo annoyed! It wasn't until I stopped eating breakfast, a practice I too had always followed as an adult, that the weight started coming off again. This lifestyle doesn't work for everyone (especially guys...lucky duckies!) but it for sure works for us petite girls. I always enjoy you videos, you are so sweet!

I am exhausted if I eat breakfast and then I'm hungry all day. Breakfast to me was a marketing idea in my opinion. Please no negative comments. Lots of food is all about marketing. Like the fat free movement all companies pushed in the 90's. All they did was add sugar which is carbs

I get so tired too and get so sick if I do not eat at least every three hours.

Agree. If I eat breakfast (now I don't even like the word!), I feel sluggish, heavy, tired, not motivated. Totally strips away my energy. Even the idea of having fatty bacon or sausage, or eggs, pancakes in the morning makes me sick to my stomach. All I need in the morning is liquid (tea or coffee).

I am so glad that I'm not alone!! However I'm actually pleasantly surprised at how many people agree with this style of eating. I was so worried that I would be ridiculed for being a breakfast skipper, but I just can't. On the rare occasion that I eat breakfast, I regret it immediately.

I ate like this in my teens! Mostly due to sleeping in on summer vacation but you are right, I had so much energy! The only reason I stopped eating like this was due to others trying to drill it in my head that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I could go till noon or 2pm until eating my first meal. So glad to know their is a name for this style of eating.

I eat around 12 or1pm and 5 or 6pm every day. I drink my coffee black in the morning. I eat a low carb diet so my body is used to burning fat for fuel not carbs. This makes it easier to fast because my body easily taps into it's fat stores when I am not eating. I find that I get hungrier when I start my feeding window. I have lost 46 lbs eating like this. Looking forward to seeing your next video on this topic.

I agree for years before anyone talked about intermittent fasting I would tell people if I eat breakfast I overeat and want to snack all day on sweets, and junk food. However if I start at noon I fill up faster and don't have cravings all day people thought that was crazy and odd and would say breakfast is the most important meal of the day and skipping it would lead to weight gain lol.

I also find it so funny that this is now a "thing" as I have been doing this for almost 40 years. I always knew with my body that once I eat, that triggers me to be hungry and eat more the rest of the day. I have rarely eaten breakfast (used to do it maybe once or twice a year when I was in my 20's but now it is never) and it is just a natural rhythm that works for me. ♥ Elle

Elle Is For Living and yet whenever l talked about this perfectly normal healthy eating pattern l got "oh that's an eating disorder...unhealthy relationship with food etc etc"..
It's not...l see it as giving your body a chance to digest and detox.

Hi Elle 😊 I'm the same way. The only reason I eat breakfast now is when I'm visiting someone and I feel like it's polite...then I regret it immediately. Unfortunately Trcey is right. (Hi Tracy 😊), most people look at it as some type of eating disorder. I can't tell you how many times people have had discussions with me about my eating habits with "concern." I felt like I was alway trying to convice people that I didn't have an eating disorder. SO glad I found this style of eating patterns. It makes SO much sense to me! 😊

Elle, I too find that when I start to eat, it triggers hunger. I usually eat at 12 or 1pm and 5 or 6pm every day. I can easily fast for 16-18 hours or more. But once I start to eat, it is as if the flood gates open up and I am hungry for the rest of the day too. It is so weird. I have lost 46 lbs and am now at my goal weight. I eat a low carb diet with lots of veggies as my carbs. Cheers to Health!!

Hi Elle, thank you for that info, as I always struggle with maintaining my weight once I have lost it. I know what you mean in regards to feeling less energy once you eat, but like you say its needed to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I will know be sticking to eating later in the day, reason for that I did it most the time anyway but was not sure if it will make me gain weight by not eating as you metabolism can become sluggish, so when you do it your body ends up holding onto all the fat as it's been starved. I think having a coffee may help with that as at least you are having something so may help with this situation. Can I ask is it every day you eat around 12 ? I want to give it a go as getting married in June and need to keep the weight off plus lose a few pounds.
Can I be cheeky also, where did you get you necklace from as it's beautiful? And how do you keep you skin looking so flawless. Thank again for the info.

Usually have dinner by 6pm or sooner. So I don't eat anything after dinner. I usually wake up by 6am and that means 12 hours have gone by. My 1st meal is usually around 12 or 12:30 and I eat a decent size lunch. usually a snack around 3pm and then dinner at 5:30 or 6pm. I drink lots of water through out the day. :)

Same for me, Jenifer! I get many comments on my weight and appearance, and I always say intermittent eating, and also weightlifting. When asked about my skin, it's daily spf 40+ sunscreen (all over) and vitamin c 20% serum and retin a. Pretty simple, really - and it has worked for me for 25 years :) I'm in my 50s, and my female friends and family spent alot of time in tanning beds. Yikes!!

I'm 41 and have been eating the same way as you (8/16 intermittent fasting) for 20 years. I have never dieted as an adult because I've never needed to. I've eaten pretty decent nutrition in those 20 years but recently I started eating really "clean" to prevent disease. When I started doing that, I lost 10 pounds. I didn't change anything but my pesticide load. It was really weird and now I believe it's also about the quality of food that we eat. So intermittent fasting plus clean nutritious food is the way to go!!!

Jenifer, Thank you so much for this video :-) I used to eat the same way that you do when I was a vegetarian and still eating dairy. I also used to drink lot's of coffee in the morning so I was never hungry and had to force myself to eat. My weight always stayed the same and I never thought about food. Unfortunately I was not healthy. Now that I am eating mostly fruit as a raw vegan I can't fit enough in my belly to get enough calories but I do have so much more energy. I also don't drink coffee anymore and that made a huge difference not consuming all of that caffeine because it really suppressed my appetite. I am still trying to figure out what works best for my body and I'm really looking forward to having a good relationship with food again. Watching your video gives me hope XOXO Lisa.

I've lost 50 pds on IF and have maintained it. I love how I feel. I would like to loose another 20 pds and will! I fast 19hrs every weekday 8pm-3pm and then eat from 3-8 pm.

Oh wow, that's fantatic!! Sometimes I "accidentally" make it to 3:00, but most times I'm afraid if I stretch it out that far I may get light-headed. Also, I'm afraid my stomach might shrink and I don't really want to lose any more weight. But if you feel great, and you're getting in adequate nutrition, that's awesome!! I'm sure the next 20 will just fall off! 😄

now I understand. my whole life I mostly skip breakfast and I feel fine, but by 12:30 or 1:00pm I HAVE TO EAT, otherwise my sugar level goes DOWN and my body starts to SHAKE. Once I eat for some reason my energy level goes down and I feel cold. I can say that 2 or sometimes 1 good meal a day I'm fine and my body is like hers 10 pounds more and people still say to me I look to skinny. Also I have people judging my eating habits for skipping breakfast, for not eating more meals a day, seriously now I understand like I said after all these comments in this video.

I was an athlete and ate this way a good part of my young adult life, I'd say all the years of HS and beyond. Not because anyone told me it was a thing...but I ate that way intuitively. I ran track and through all my younger years, I would have a coffee in the morning (or 2). I would say I had a slow to wake up metabolism. The coffee held me until I was more awake and an appetite kicked in. I would feel groggy in the a.m. and had no desire to eat. Running around campus In uni, coffee held me until lunchtime.
In Uni I started training more with weights along with track. I loved how muscle added a more sculpted look to my physique. I was lean and strong and looked like an athlete!
And then the track coach told me how "unhealthy I was eating" and encouraged me to start eating 6 smaller meals a day. I found it objectionable and struggled with this concept because I would often feel nauseas eating that early, even if it was a shake (I would often gag after finishing it). But the more I heard "the experts" say that "6 small meals" was the way to go when you fitness train, I did it. Of course I got used to (in a habit of) waking and then eating right away...sleepy or not...hungry or not...and I also felt around 11:00 or so ravenous for the next meal...when my normal tendency would have been to not feel hungry at all, until around noon! Not only did I gain muscle but I gained fat. I ate clean...I worked out 5-6 days a week. I did a healthy balance of weight and cardio. And yet... I gained fat as if I was in a body building "bulking up" phase.
I do believe everyone should find their best eating style/plan/pattern, more than listening to the "experts". I don't mean eating junk. I mean, if you are serious about your health and being fit. Now I hear "eating intuitively" is a thing. I went against my own nature NOT listening to myself. I feel this (what you discuss) was my natural tendency...and when I went against that, things went terribly wrong. I only recently started eating this way again after I feel I have a much damaged metabolism... Ignoring my own body's message to me. I continued to eat the way coaches encouraged me to...wondering why I was gaining, when it would start working for me and what was I doing wrong? The coach would say "some people just have a thicker build. In a family of lean people....What I was doing wrong, was eating in a way that was dictated to me by others. Great video!

I am so glad you left this comment!! I've been told my whole life that the way that I was eating was unhealthy for me. I can't even tell you have many conversations have been had with me from a "concerned" adult or parent. I felt like I was always having to defend myself against having some sort of eating disorder. My husband eats the same way I do. Not always the same foods because he drinks a couple of protein shakes a day, but both of us have been able to hang onto muscle tone for all these years without spending hours a day in the gym. My husband just recently started going back to the gym, and it's amazing to me how quickly he's building muscle. I agree that we should all find an eating plan that works best for us. Hope you're having a fantastic weekend!! 😊

One way to lose weight fast is with intermittent fasting. Not only can you lose weight quickly but it is a very easy diet to follow. Most people have a lot of misconception about fasting and think that it is an extreme thing to do to lose weight but in actuality it is safe and possesses a number of health benefits.

  • @meganmiller9640

I went from 16-8 to just starting to eat around 5 pm and it's been incredible. Particularly my gains in the gym. High intensity training increases human growth hormone around 200% and intermittent fasting increases it 2000%.
If you are trying to build a butt or make gains in the gym, a fasted workout and then waiting at least an hour afterwards will definitely enhance your results.
You really did yourself a favour by intuitively eating this way so long ago! I only discovered it 4 years ago. Thanks for sharing :)

Well, you know, most of us women would definitely like to build more of a butt! 😉 I think that's great that you feel great and are strengthening and building muscle at the same time. Not sure I could fast that long, as I think I would get light headed. Do you feel as if you're getting adequate nutrition?

hi Jennifer. I did one week of intermittent fast and as like you didn't realize I do this already. although my problem was that I didn't eat the right foods all the time. I didn't eat much but my dinners were bigger. and weekends I ate breakfast because of my husband. I maintained my weight and I would go from 165 - 155. so far I lost 12 lbs and 13 inches total.. 5 inches was my waist. I am a fan of this intermittent fasting and added ketosis plan. got my husband to finally do this with me and he lost 25 lbs and haven't measured him yet. but he's wearing a belt for his pants now. lol. of course his motivation was a trip to cancun. haha.
I definitely want to understand it more and scientific measures of this. I love it because I like to workout but don't love to workout. well at least not anymore. but I do workout 3-4 days 45 -60 minutes just light weights and piyo or low impact exercises and some walking. thank you for your videos.

I'm in my early 50's and have been intermittent fasting off and on for about 30 years. The earliest I remember is in my 20's and I would stop eating around 3pm. In my 30's I picked it up briefly, in my 40's and on I have made it a practice and it has kept me at a nice weight all my adult life where my peers have struggled with weight. I make my biggest meal lunch and by 3pm I do not eat anything else, so I'm fasting about 20 hours a day sometimes more. I have tons of energy, I'm on no prescription meds, I'm slim, it makes you look younger and food tastes so much better when you wait to eat until you're really hungry. I'm 5'6" 112-115 pounds.

I can totally relate to this... Except! If I eat after 8pm (bowl of cereal w/fruit) I wake up STARVING!! It's like I stretched out my stomach while I slept with a full belly! If I don't eat after 8pm, I am not hungry until 10-10:30am. I think you are replacing the food with caffeine, and that's why you aren't hungry - if I have strong tea in the morning, I can wait to eat until noonish/ lunchtime. I would love to know if anyone has the same issue as I do, with stretching my belly during Sleep! I have excellent metabolism & wished that I had to worry about weight gain. 😦 It would be easier for me to lose weight instead of gain. Thank you for the great Videos! Hugs, Tammy, Mesa, AZ ❤

I have never been a person who wanted to eat breakfast. When I was a kid my mom would make me eat before school and I would feel nauseated. As soon as I was able to make my own food I skipped breakfast, but over the past few years I bought into that you are supposed to have breakfast. I felt subconscious , like I wasn't healthy. It's supposed to be healthy but it has caused me weight gain and I've been super tired. I'm glad that other people feel this way. It's kind of a relief.

I do a type of fasting too, but what works the best for me is to eat breakfast and then about 5 hours later I eat my second meal. That is all I eat for the day. I do this because when I go to bed at night my stomach gets to rest when I rest. Going to bed on a full stomach is not the best because your poor stomach is still trying to digest all that food and you don't get as good a rest. That might be why we feel like we need the coffee in the morning. I wake up with plenty of energy when I eat this way. If you eat your biggest meal in the morning your body has the rest of the day to digest that big meal and you never gain weight that way. I have been maintaining my weight for 5 years this way. Coffee is very dehydrating and actually will age you quicker. I know these things are hard to hear but I don't mean to offend just offering what has helped me.

I am 25 with two kids recently just had my baby 5 months ago, I was so tiny before having my daughter. I am a little on the curvier since, I am latina so my old typical stats are 5'0 always between 113-117lbs which I love but now with doing Keto and exercising occasionally im 125 and I hate it so much. I used to do this method and I loved it, think this is the one for me to go back for :)

I agree 100%...When I age breakfast, I was hungry all day...NO matter how much I ate. This made me miserable! That's when I decided to not eat in the mornings, no matter what people said...I usually ate at 11:00 for lunch and dinner around 5:00. Along with exercising, I have been able to maintain my weight...I don't eat 'fat free' crap, rarely eat fried things, and occasionally eat a desert! I was glad to accidently finding out about "intermittent fasting" and feel like I wasn't crazy after all!

I recently stopped eating "breakfast". I wake-up at 3am, workout, and prepare oatmeal which I bring to work. I do not get hungry until around 7:30/8am, which is when I eat. I go to bed early. So I feel best when dinner between5-6pm is my last meal. I think this would be considered intermittent fasting, but I was not sure. this is a VERY recent thing. I used to NEED to eat breakfast every morning because I was STARVING. I think that the main take-away from this is listen to your body! Now, that I am almost 40, my body is telling me all sorts of new things!

Thank you!!! This is my lifestyle. Have been doing it for so many years; empirical data is publicly available to support the very many benefits of intermittent fasting.
I turned 40 not that long ago & I'm still getting carded.. something to be said about that, not to mention the TONS of energy I have all day long.
Please Keep up the good work! Ladies of a certain age must stick together.

I know this is an old video, but it's great. I always eat more and am groggy all day long if I eat breakfast. It triggers my hunger, too. IF has really helped me lose weight and feel better. I eat between 12-6pm and eat 1-2 meals during that eating window. I have coffee before noon & eat lunch at around 1:30-2 pm, we eat dinner around 5-ish. Zero snacking & nothing but water or herbal tea after dinner. I feel amazing.

You are so right on about not eating until around noon! I FEEL so much better Not eating breakfast. I usually play Racquetball for an hour or do the Stairmaster 20 min-100Floors, lift weights... Every a.m. And I'm 65, and way past menopause! I usually make a huge protein drink w/ all kinds of good stuff made with 1/2 gallon water and sip on it all afternoon. Oh, the firstthing after black coffee in the am, heading for the gym, my husband and I have hot water, with Organic Apple Cider, and locally grown honey. Cleared up all our Sinus problems about 5 years ago...never have a problem now.

I’m a new subbie! Your videos are so informative. I’m going on 42 and it’s harder each year to maintain my body weight. It doesn’t help that my husband and kids it whatever and I’m trying to stay healthy. I don’t think that you offend anyone. I remember being pushed to eat breakfast even though I wasn’t hungry in the morning because “breakfast is the most important meal of the day” and “your brain needs fuel in the morning”. Now it seems the thinking has changed. After watching some Dr. Berg videos I started skipping breakfast and I definitely feel I have more energy in the morning. I’ve always had this rule to not eat anything after 7pm except herbal tea. So I fast between 7-11:30 ish. So I fast at least 16 hours. I just eat when I get hungry usually between 11:30-noon. Before that I only have water, herbal tea, or coffee. But when I was weight training my trainer kept trying to make me add a protein breakfast back in. He said I wouldn’t gain muscle if I didn’t eat 5 times a day. I only eat 2 meals a day.

My husband and I did Intermittent fasting together with keto (keto were we did avoid unhealthy fat like butter, greasy meat and too much oil) and it was the best way to lose weight. My husband lost 30lbs in 2 months and I lost 10 lbs (that’s all I needed to lose, and I did vegetarian keto). My husband mostly stuck with salads and lean meats, eggs, low carb veggies and avoided breads, rice, potatoes, pasta, sweet fruits and all sugars.

Good afternoon Jenifer ...... thank you for giving good guidance when people are watching UA-cam. People need to understand that works for you and we all have to find the right cocktail in our food consumption and what works for us. I've lost 15 pounds with this method. But I had to cater it to me needs. It definitely does not help with three teenagers in the house. My weakness is a snacking after dinner or before bed. I'll gravitate toward 1/4 cup of nuts or 1/4 of an apple 🍎. This video was very informative Jenifer. Be been off coffee. I like a iced coffee but it tends to make me very twitchy but it does not make me hungry. Coffee actually does not make me hungry. I do drink a glass of water 💦 first thing in the am and a glass before each meal. Can't wait for your next video. Love your pendant ..... so beautiful. Stay fabulous. Big hugs 🤗 from me to you Jenifer. Great editing and conversation.

I did IF and Keto for 3 months at the beginning of the year and lost 2 lbs onlyI I loved IF because I’m not a breakfast person at all and only start getting hungry around 11 am but can definitely wait another 1-2 hours before eating. What didn’t work for me was the high fat content. My body doesn’t do well with high fat diets at all (I learned that the hard way 😆) and I used to be able to loose weight by just cutting dinner and eating plant based with small amount of lean meat. Unfortunately after I turned 40 I noticed that even doing those things are not helping me loose weight or keep a healthy weight like before. I also gained a lot of weight around my waist/belly area. That was the most puzzling to me because it happened without me eating anything different than what I used to eat before when I had a flat stomach and small waist. I feel like my body is such a mystery now 🤷🏼‍♀️ but I’m still trying to figure it out

I usually feel a bit hungry in the morning but I've learned to like the feeling, actually. It feels more productive for some reason. One or two cups of coffee and then wait to eat anything until 2:00 or so. Even then I eat pretty lightly. Then our family has a super healthy and robust meal at about 7, and after the meal the fasting starts over again. I haven't needed to diet for 20 years now.

absolutely intermittent fasting can give you great results, however there is one important piece for woman. this does not work for all women and can actually destroy your hormone balance, prevent ovulation and actually make you GAIN weight. you did give a great disclosure which is awesome. just wanted to give the bad with the good. I tried this and it did the opposite. I train pretty hard, lift weights etc, and the intermittent fasting actually stopped working after a week or so and did the opposite. There is intermittent fasting for women where you fast 3 days a week only. This might work better if doing it every day isn't working

great job, Jennifer! I love how emphatic you are at stressing that this isn't a "diet", and that you use it primarily because you are listening to your body and energy levels. Your body obviously has a really firm "set point" weight which is wonderful. I love IF for the reasons other people have said, too - I think that yo-yo ing during my twenties and eating horribly processed foods with zero exercise, combined with a slightly more endomorphic body type means that my weight fluctuates quite drastically even day to day, I have some insulin resistance and metabolic issues in general, and therefore what my body thinks is it's "set point" weight, is several pounds above what would be my ideal now! But I've adopted a majority prepared-from-scratch, whole foods way of eating, intermittent fasting, and lots of exercise over the past five years and my health markers are fantastic now, so, though I sometimes still feel like the overweight girl of old, and though I'd like a few pounds less on the scale, my mindset and energy has completely 180'd. Just goes to show, it really can be turned around!
Thank you for your commitment to responsible information sharing! x

I find this very interesting. I am starving in the morning, so I eat fairly soon after I wake up. Then after about 45 minutes, I am absolutely ravenous again. So then I eat something small about a half an hour after that I am starving again to the point where my stomach is growling out loud. I also do feel foggy and tired in the mornings. I even went and got my blood levels tested and a bunch of blood work done, it all came out normal and I never knew why I felt like this. I will absolutely try this a few days in a row next week and see how I feel. Thanks !!

I totally can relate to your experience. I myself use to eat basically one meal a day as
I really couldn't bear the feeling of tiredness after a full on meal let alone 3! As a result I was always 46/48 kg for 5ft 7. The reason was the difference I would notice in energy levels. Then I kind of gave in to the mainstream 3 meals a day and, as result , I packed on 20 kg.. I am now back, it has been a month ,on intermittent fasting and I feel like myself again.. I am supercharged with energy and sleep so well. My body is getting tighter again and my cortisol levels which have been afflicting me just went down dramatically. Overall I just feel like myself again, and truly doubt I will ever go back to the 3 meals way anytime soon.. NOT GOOD FOR ME. I do not diet, when I eat I do not count calories yet I do not feel hungry all day and enery depleted. We are all different but I do believe that in general in our society there is a glorifying culture for overindulging on on food to the point that we can't watch a program on tv without being bombarded with food ads at any given time of the day. People will alsways have something negatice to say, but scientists are showing over and over again that low calarie consumption is the key to good health, less disease and longevity, so your fasting includes that thinking. I eat once or twice per day (no milk or gluten and I try to stick to complex carbs only (but the brain needs access to sugar in a pretty basic form) and the meals are pretty small. I only need a little bit to feel satisfied and then I stop. If I eat more than that, I get extremely fatigued and could fall asleep or be miserable fighting sleep all day. I also have gastroparesis so the littler I eat, the better for this condition. Wating larger meals during Christmas feels like I've been tranqued by anasthesia meant for a hippo. This makes so much sense to me! I usually eat breakfast, but when I do have to fast, like when I have a Dr appointment and need to do a fasting blood draw, my energy levels are so much better. I've tried IF in the past and found myself getting pretty crabby after a few days. I think maybe I was trying too hard and going too long (20 hours). I could probably do 16 hours without any problems. Great video! Can't wait to see the rest of the series 💕

Hi Karyn 20 hours?! 😊 Not sure I could go that long either. On the days where I've "accidentally" gone that long because I left the house without eating and didn't realize I would be out as long as I was, I ended up getting a little light headed. Not a good feeling. Now I always keep food in my car in case that happens. 16 is a breeze once you're used to it. My younger sister just started doing it a few month ago and she tells me all the time how she's never hungry now and she doesn't feel like she needs a mid-morning nap anymore. 😊

Wow it is so me.........I can't do breakfast. Oh, I did the eating every two hours thing and I actually gained weight. I am a vegan and I eat carbs...lost 10 pounds and went back to this method as well. I did this in my 20's and i was always full of energy.

I do it from 6pm till 10am the next day but only have a coffee then (I hate it black so it has milk) I have my lunch at 12pm some snacks etc through out the day. I have my dinner for 5ish usually full of protein. And that’s me for the day. That works fine for me. I’ve only 7 pounds to lose so it’s taking a while, but this is really helping. I don’t tend to do it a day at the weekend so I can have a few drinks. But I don’t usually eat after a dinner. I have loads of energy and I feel good. Not depriving myself and because I’m sleeping for the most part I don’t feel bad.

I just started this very thing... including the coffee. I love that you included coffee! I add collagen and gluuccomannon to it and food is not even needed until lunch. Very inspiring video. You are very likeable!

Tonya Stutz I looked and my collagen has 43 calories in 2 tsp. So I moved it to my fed hours. I used to put it in my airborne after it fizzed in the am. I thought it would break my fast.

This is very interesting because when I was my thinnest at 20 years old, I was working out in the mornings and I wouldn't eat until about noon. I had a dress made for my wedding and the dressmaker told me to stop losing weight because she had to keep taking the dress in. I am 5'6" and at that time weighed 118lbs and I really was not trying to lose more weight just tone my muscles. After I got married and my schedule changed, I found even though I worked out with the same intensity I gained about 6lbs in about 3 years, until I got pregnant with our first son. Now I am 57 years old and 35lbs heavier, but through the years I have had times when I have worked out very hard but was never able to duplicate the weight falling off like when I was 20. I just chalked it up to being older, and/or slower metabolism. I never thought about this until just now, I am going to try this, as long as I can have coffee in the morning I am good no eating before noon. Thanks for sharing Jennifer!

I'm so glad you posted this video. My husband loses crazy amount of weight doing Intermittent Fasting. .i always was confused because i thought breakfast was essential. I guess not. Thank you. Im trying this today

Isn't that funny? I thought the same thing about breakfast because that's what we were all taught growing up. But as I got older, I just started listening to my body and it was amazing how much more energy I had, and how LESS hungry I was through-out the day. The first 3-4 days might be a little tough if you're used to eating breakfast, but you'll quickly notice how easy it becomes and you'll start to recognize how breakfast actually initiates hunger. 💖

Thank you so much for this video! You explained everything so well. My husband & I haven't eaten breakfast since we got married 43 yrs ago. We both realized that when we ate breakfast we were "hungry" all day! Didn't know why, but realized we didn't like the feeling. I'm fighting cravings for carbs. Ugh! I need to lose weight to be more healthy.

Liked to hear this because I am the opposite. I just naturally ate breakfast, snacked/grazed afternoons, and very little or no dinner. Always worked for me....UNTILLL I relocated to the west coast. Eat dinner about 7 or 8, sleep in, only coffee until around noon when I may eat pancakes or eggs, snacks in the afternoon, and a big dinner as I said at 7ish or 8 pm. I've gained almost 15 lbs. in a year's time!!! 😞 So this is fascinating. My system is really mixed up. I was always 110 (am 5ft tall) & have been trying to lose weight.

Yessssssss!!! I used to eat breakfast, then was in a coma by about 10:30, then was completely ravenous and ate all day long. This happened especially with a breakfast high in carbs - oatmeal, granola, cereal, pancakes (my favorite but the worst). I kept trying because I believed "breakfast is the most important meal of the day." What a crock of sh_t ! Well for me it is. I found that I did much better when I ate a small amount of fatty fish for breakfast, like salmon or sardines. I'm doing even better with skipping breakfast. Now when I see people eating a breakfast of orange juice, hash browns, toast and/or pancakes with jelly and/or syrup, I just think OMG that would ruin me for the rest of the day. I'm experimenting with IF. Thanks for the video... and you are so beautiful you could motivate me to do anything.

Thank you Shiva! ❤️️ It baffles me that we've always been told that breakfast was the most important meal of the day and that it gives us energy. That could not be further from the truth for me, personally. I'm just so glad that I can finally put some actual scientific evidence behind why I've always felt that way. 😊

I naturally do this as well. and I never knew there was a name for it. it's comfortable to me. I haven't had weight problems since I started. in fact as I get older I have trouble putting on weight. I try to eat healthy but I'm not perfect. I'm 39 and people tell me I look like I'm in my mid twenties. I hope this is one of the habits keeping me young. definitely going to read up on it more. thx for the video!

This is how I eat too! I didn't know it had a name. If friends want to go out to breakfast I get so bummed because I know I'll feel tired and regretful afterwards. I always just order oatmeal and all my omelet loving friends look at me like I have 3 heads! Haha! This is great information Jenifer!

That is Wonderful!! So glad it's working for you! The best thing I like about this way of living is the energy I seem to have more of. On the RARE occasion that I eat breakfast, it seems to immediately strip me of my energy and initiate hunger. Hope you have a fabulous weekend! 🤗💕

Really fascinating concept. My mum is in her 60s and is very slim and she does this also (I don't think she realises that there is a name for it) I'm in my 40's and have always been slim but have definitely notified a bit of that middle aged spread over the years! Thanks for sharing this system, I will trying it out and see how it makes me feel

Wow, I will definitely try this! Like you said, most people are taught that breakfast is such an important meal. Unfortunately I'm the kind of person, who will think about what to eat all day. I have gained 20 pounds over the last 3 years (I am over 50), so I might as well try this approach.

I am the opposite. I go to work very early. I get up at 3AM. I am starving at around 8am. I eat a small breakfast of eggs OR a breakfast sandwich on my break and I am NOT hungry for lunch at all. It doesn't deplete my energy to eat. If I don't eat at least something I feel weak. I am diabetic so I have to eat but not because of that. I am actually hungry in the morning. I sometimes will eat a small lunch if not, I then eat dinner at around 5 or 6. Jenifer you and I are the exact same height and weight. How funny!
