Fascinating music....Some people, as you say, have to leave their musical comfort zone to enjoy. If you`re used to hear folk music, it`s easier to digest.
Yesss you did it. Thank you and thank you for the shoutout to me. I know this isn't mainstream music , yet i knew you would dig it and others on this chanel will i believe. I think music at its best needs to get under your skin take you to another place, a journey of emotions and gift you with bodily sensations like goosebumps and shivers. And for that it can be any type of music and language. By the way i think its time to react to some Dimash Qudaibergen, right ? Much love and many blessings and quick recovery from your hip replacement Matt. Eszter
What you heard is centuries old music traditions passed through generations, this is Qawali/Sufi music much much older than Jazz and Blues and infact Jazz did take inspiration from this genre thou, Rahat belong to a v long line of well known musicians and his uncle was Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan probably the greatest vocalist of all time also known as King of Kings for Qawali music...and the fact you felt something in the singing capabilities of lady (her name is Abida Parveen) means you have a good ear, she is for female singing what Nusrat was for male singers. She is a living legend simply puts into trance and you can listen to her forever, the more you listen the more you like her, this is coming from a guy who grew up listening to western music almost all genres and later discovered this sufi Pakistani music and have to say there is no better genre.
You've just complemented the Queen of Sufi Music! She is genuinely carrying the spiritual aura alongside herself. Please react to the other songs from Coke Studio Pakistan. Rang, Khabaram Raseeda, and Tu Jhoom, to name a few of them. Your reaction and insights are really good 👍
This is spritual Sufi Music....this song was written over 700 years ago, Sufi music is made to envoke deep feelings and emotions.....and this is a great example of that.......
Nice reaction 😍 Rahat fateh Ali Khan - He is a legend. He doctored in music in Oxford University & Oxford University has named one of its rooms after Rahat Fateh Ali Khan that makes him the first South Asian artist to receive such an honour. His family in Music industry over 600 years, fact he is 17th generation. His uncle is Nusrat fateh ali khan(He is greatest musician of All-Time in the World. He named as Most influential & Famous Musician in 20th generation by Pakistan Government. He was described as the 4th greatest singer of all time by LA Weekly in 2016. He performed over 40 countries & Hollywood used his songs & music in their movies as well. He made in Guinness world records for more sufi recordings. Search about him to know more ..) Abida Parveen - Queen of Sufi Music & legendary singer in Pakistan. She is been singing over six decades. She won many awards in her career. You witnessed two legends ❤🙌🤩🙏
The lady you are speaking about is known as The Sufi Queen or the Living Legend of Pakistan. no one can dare sit next to her.Everyone falls into her magical voice trap. Please react more on her.
Man coke studio sessions are like on another level. These two are like the the icons of the music industry in south asian region. Best sessions of coke studio from pakistan. The latest one is season 14 and one episode left of it now sadly for this year. 🤧🙌
Classic, Qawali and Sufi, all this music related to the name of legends Of music international and local Mr , Ustad (Teacher) Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan who was uncle of Ustad (Teacher) Rahat Fateh Ali Khan . They done international musical concerts all over the world.
I really, really like to ( through your videos ) explore new and different stuff ----- that being said, exploring is one thing but taking up residence in these new areas is another. I love your reactions and it is a very comfortable diatribe when you speak your thoughts and dish out your lovable and corny humor .............. I find myself telling everyone to " take it twice ". We have been introduced to this wonderfully interesting eastern music - now if I want to hear it again I know where to look. I would like to see a lot more "mainstream" reactions, A LOT MORE !
Glad you enjoyed this one! I would HIGHLY recommend the song Haiderium from the NESCAFE Basement sessions. You will be astounded by the vocals and musical arrangement
Amazing reaction loved it please check out coke studio season 14 it's so progressive and showcasing new Pakistani talent. It's amazing and taking music to new levels
No man its not a love song from a woman as a bride to a man. Its a spiritual song relating the worldly beauties such as a "radiant bride". If you search about Nizam uddin auliya. You will get my point. Kudos to your enthusiasm thanks for the reaction.
This is Pakistan Coke Studio and Pakistani legend singers. India is originated from the Sindh River Valley which flows inside Pakistan. Pakistan has great classical and modern singers. Coke studio is the best platform in Pakistan.
This is song is you can say South Asian Classic, It consists of Raag instead of how western music in based on Scales. Ragas or Raags are alot more complex than Modern pop or even blues, Raga doesnt only consist of pattern of notes. But also time of singing, the ascending and descending pattern differences, which note to use more which to use when, and when to slide on notes and when to not, And the time signatures are also usually not the one famouse these days,, mostly consist of weird signature like 3/16 or called 3 taal etc
Hi Matt...great reaction....Yes, on the surface this would seem to be a romantic song between a man and woman....but digging a little deeper in keeping with the Sufi tradition there is a more esoteric meaning/feeling expressed by the singers (both legends in their own right)....the bond of devotion between God and his believer, as in God the husband and the devotee as "radiant bride"
Shout out from Scotland pal, cracking reaction on this, cheers for that. Since you like saxophone 🎷 I have a massive request Moray Naina | Zara Madni | Season 6 | Coke Studio Pakistan Producer of music is Rohail Hayat Giz a listen please. Ta.
Well come to the new world. This is Sufi Music. This lyrics of Song are 700 years old. Its not love for bride, lyrics written by a pupil to showcase love for his master
Well both are legends in there own rights but abida parveen is in ranks of ultra legend and very few can detect it and you were spot on 👏 despite is giving his 110% to even the odds 😁 but those who have sense of music can understand Abida Parveen's standard

You should be a little bit more careful when you react to a music of this part of the world. Western Media music was almost silence for decates because of political reasons . Therefore the people including musicians from west world have never found out there are music which are much much older than the Western music. Example, Even instrument guitar basically was designed of many ancient instruments from Eastern like kamanche or Tar. Or the style of singing of this pieces of music are much much older than jazz or blues music.... Good luck for your next music reaction....

Sorry to say but western music isn’t traditional music. Your music didn’t exist a few centuries back. Eastern music existed before the western music and everything came from there. Also you will never understand this style. Western musicians don’t understand sargam and can’t sing like this and they compare it to scatting lol The guy singing is from a family of musicians who used to sing 8-9 centuries ago in the courts of kings. They are taught to sing before they walk.
