So yeah this is one I absolutely want so I'm keeping my best eagle eye trained on all European Benchmade-dealers hoping they have some in stock soon. Love just about everything about it, especially the colour combination with the black and blue... thanks for sharing!
If you can’t find one and need to buy one from America, I can ship you one (if you’re up for another wait - I can’t believe shipping is taking so long!)
There are numerous businesses you can use in the United States that give you a address for you to have companies ship to. They box up all your items in one box then ship to you for a cheaper rate. I've had a few buyers use them that I sold knives to on ebay. Here are just a few...
Nice, but I think that the thumb stud is too forward on the blade than the 940 and for the cutting use is not very practical ;) with a small deep pocket carry it will be more EDC's knife maybe :) but first I need to buy a 940(-2) and then maybe a 945 ;) Thanks for sharing :)
I bought one already cause I love the 940, but I have to say that I think the mini bugout that I have just might feel a bit better as well as more secure in hand than the 945. I wear between a large to xl glove depending on the company.
Thanks for the review , I like this mini alot but now that you mentioned an aluminum version is coming out, I'm now on the fence if I should wait, what's your thoughts , I also have the 940-2 , new in box that never had any pocket time because of its size
I am guessing that an aluminum version will come out. Nothing has been confirmed yet and it probably wouldn’t be for a little while even if it did, I prefer aluminum to g10 as well, but I have to say I like the g10 on the 945 better than the 940 since it’s smaller. It just works better on a smaller knife. I can’t really put my finger on why.
@@vikingfury2065 the more the moving parts, the more things can go wrong. Being in Malaysia, it’s harder to get fixed or replaced. And since there isn’t an official retailer in Malaysia and Benchmade doesn’t allow US retailers to “export”/ship to me, and even Benchmade doesn’t list Malaysia as a shipping destination, and they haven’t replied to any of my communications, it doesn’t give me any confidence in any warranty service...more of a rant, my apologies...but mainly for the first reason I mentioned. That said, I’m taking the plunge on the mini Osborne via another knife guy in UA-cam who has graciously agreed to assist me in getting the 945.
Just got my first nice knife (sage 5lw) and I’m already looking for more knives hahaha. How is the handle durability? I’ve heard that the bugout has a lot of flex. I don’t really like that. This knife looks really nice that.
Yes. The g10 scales for the Bugout are rigid. If you like a more solid knife you might like the 945, mini grip, or mini Freek better than the mini Bugout. The biggest differences with these being handle thickness and weight. From lightest and thinnest to thickest and heaviest, I would use the following order - mini Bugout with FRN scales, mini Bugout with g10 scales, 945, mini grip with FRN scales, mini grip with g10 scales, mini Freek with FRN and versaflex (I don’t like this version), and mini Freek with g10 or cf.
Where did u order those bugout scales from? I’ve been looking for those with the ground out pattern in it as opposed to the plain flush flytanium ones.

The split arrow is actually one of the strongest clips they have and was designed by warren osborne himself. That's actually why it's on the mini as the salute to him. I love the split arrow pocket clip with black oxide finish.
The Benchmade 943 was the first real knife I ever owned and I had to save up for it with my job working in the kitchen at Red Lobster. I was actually about your age at the time. You’ve got plenty of time to build the collection and if you’re doing to be deployed, you should have some funds saved up to get you there by the time you return...or you could stay tuned for some giveaways 😉🤫
@@TripleEEDC will try to if i have the chance to record, might just record some early and have them go live when deploy. Have to think about it and see if i can still record or not.
I was on the fence too for months on end about the 940 (costs around $225 here in Europe) and after I got that the same happened before I recently pulled the trigger on the 943... As Triple E EDC said you've got plenty of time to build the collection, and in my experience something you've saved for is usually all the more valuable and precious once you're able to actually buy it!
Love the blue with the black. Great looking mini. Benchmade did a great job with the 945. Great video as always Triple E.
Finally a review of in hand finger grip. Seen 4 video and none did that. The elementum fits perfect in my hand and good to see you did that
Wrangler dude cut himself with this knife
I still picked up it was on sale for $152 the mini Osborne 945bk1 ... 👍
You mean all the doomsday prepping he does didn’t prepare him for handling a tiny knife?
Great price on that one though!
Seems pretty cool. Just wish the axis bar was black or blue to match up better. Great video 👍
I have often wondered why they didn't do a mini of the Osborne, like they have done with many of their designs.
Exactly! It’s been a long time coming

Very on the fence with this. I’m not an axis lock fan, but this and the mini crooked river keep haunting me
It’s quite nice. I still like the 940 better but this is turning into a keeper for me.
What don’t you like about the axis lock?

I have this and for me the g10 is a little too slippery, if it had more texture, it’ll be perfect
The aluminum version has a little more texture to it.
I’m hoping for a 943 version
