I just got this knife in 2025. 2nd hand. Love it already. Very pocketable and comfortable to carry. Doesn’t feel heavy. 5.5oz or so on my scale. Feels great in the hand. Sturdy. Blade shape is ideal. Unfortunate it is discontinued. Presidio 2 should be a good alternative.

No, the lock is for it to turn into a fixed blade. You lock those pegs in, and you can chop wood or whatnot with it.

Very informative vid! I read somewhere that applying KPL heavy on the springs will eliminate the spring sing. It’ll probably work for a bit but KPL heavy will still move. The grease will stay put. The KPL, once it moves will gum up the action because of its viscosity.

The auto full size is a fun knife. Very happy with how sharp I got mine. Also was able to get mine pre owned but it was basically just the pre Owen price :)

Feldspar looks NICE! I love Benchmade, was never really a Bugout fan until very lately, but yours with those micarta scales is one of the ones that has got me liking that model more and more. That looks really nice!

With the polished micarta does it stay nice and shiny or does it eventually turn into matte finish?

Couple things. 1. We can hear the click on both blades you open, that noise is when they lock. Your hands are right by the release tab, my best guess is you are hitting the realse, hopefully by accident, but who knows. Next, all multitools i have owned by any brand do give resistance to open. They dont use ball bearings like pocket knives. This is intentionally done so you dont wind up with a blade sticking out unintended. Lastly, i have been using this multitool daily for about 3 years doing construction hvac. It has never let me down and has held up far better than most other multitools i have gotten. I think some of this is just user error my friend

The ones I’ve gotten seem to be decent. Definitely good bang for your buck. And outdoor55 walked back his making fun of the d2 blade as the edge on his was severely burnt. It may be hit or miss with these, but I don’t mind a slightly softer knife, but I even doubt they’re that soft, and the play and action in mine have seemed fine.

I worked at Buck in Post Falls ID when they first started producing this knife (marksman). In fact I helped assemble the first run. They were so excited about the lock/bearing action but I immediately saw the drawback with the bearings making it swing way too fast. I was mostly edging/sharpening on the paradigm line!

I used to work for Buck in Post Falls Idaho. Great benefits, crappy wage (in 2015)

Magnacut Livewire I got for $174.99

It's a multi tool not a Benchmade pocketknife with ball bearings it's gonna be hard to open, so are leathermans, and they loosen up over time. As far as the not locking I can't answer that one lol.
