I used a green paint on 2 pieces of furniture. One I antiqued with dark wax and the other I used white wax on. It looks like I used 2 different paint colors. Amazing how much wax can change a color and so much fun to play with !
I did a wall with the linen on the top of the room and the bottom was done to look like leather wainscoting. I have used fine toothed combs to do the linen, and I have used the combs to do flowers in plaster. Your work is awesome and you have loads of personality which inspires beginners and seasoned artists as well.
Sarah! This little table turned amazing! I love the way you did this technique! The wax makes it Beautiful! Thank you so much Sarah to accepted this collaboration with me ! I have to much fun and enjoy ❤️😘
Maaaaaaate!!!! Love it!!! Gonna do this to chest of drawers in my room. Have been undecided for over 18 months. Thankyou xx. You pulled it off with style!!! It's gorgeous!
Amazing! Above all, you are such a nice person Sarah! The texture is beautiful and the white wax was a brilliant idea! I love it! Rounded legs are so difficult to paint without brush strokes and the way you did it is genius! Thanks so much for sharing
wow!! i love the wooly tool to blend and create clouds!! and i use a few brushes to create a wood look with paint. guess i have to try this now!!! love watching you!!!!❤
Yes that's is actually why I got the wooly in the first place to blend. I've seen Christina over on The Reclaimed Heirloom blend that way and wanted to try but this came in the line up first 😆 the blending is coming...one day. Seriously there is so much to try! Glad you liked the vid and want to give it a try!! 🥰

Sarah this is beautiful! Love the color you chose, and it definitely looks like fabric. A tip if you do it like this again with darker paint - add a base paint tinted to about 1/3 saturation of your weave color. Then mix 2 glazes - the first about a 2:1 glaze to paint, this is your horizontal pull, the second at about a 4:1 glaze to paint. Only pull through once vertically. That will help all layers to show. Hi Sarah, Thanks for this bonus video. I'm so glad you tried this technique. I have a dresser I've been thinking of doing this exact technique to. Now that I've seen you do it, I'm most definitely going to do as well. I was wondering about the cream colour and thought maybe it's just me that I couldn't see it once you got the piece completed. I had not seen anyone put one coat of paint on and brush it, then put another coat of paint on and brush it. I've always seen others put the paint on and brush both directions. That white wax put this piece over the top in my opinion. It turned out amazing and you should be very proud how well it turned out. Thanks again and enjoy the rest of your day. See ya on Saturday. 😊
You are so right JoAnn. The two layers covered the cream and gold right up. I think I like this double layer technique for good thick texture but bc of that thickness I had to add the wax so you could see the texture 😆. I think I'll be trying again but with 1 layer to see which way I like best. I'm so glad to hear that you are going to give this technique a try...let me know how it goes for you if you do the one layer, I'd be curious to know. See you Saturday 🥰
@@VintageAndPainted I'll definitely let you know how my piece turns out. I'm in Canada, so been waiting for our weather to warm up so I can get back out in the garage to work. Hopefully within the next week. Thanks again sweet lady! 🥰❤
"This could roll--or it could go completely pear-shaped"!!! 😂😂😂 Never heard that one. 😁👍 [That low to the ground style is going to save the effort it takes to dust or sweep under it.]
Yay bonus video! I can’t say I love this technique but the video was fun, and the table is very pretty as it turned out. The table is unique, I’ve never seen this style before. And those thick drawer sides! Well-made piece. Question - have you ever chalk painted over a table with a leather inlay? I haven’t searched UA-cam yet but I will. This curb find table had pink fluffy fabric over the leather 🤦♀️ Perfect shirt you’re wearing. Today my coffee needed coffee so off to the corner I went for a flat white ☕️ See ya Saturday Sarah!
thank you Brenda 😍 it really is a well made piece for sure. I think putting legs on the bottom would have looked funny! Funny you should ask that. I have a coffee table and 2 end tables with leather in lays. Sadly the inlays are badly damages so when I do get to them I think I will have to remove rather than repair or paint. But chalk paint is supposed to be able to go over textile like leather. I know that the DIY Clay Paint can go over textile, I've seen the owner Debi paint fabric. More often than not my coffee needs coffee 🤣 I could use a flat white!!! See you Saturday x
@@VintageAndPainted Appreciate your input Re the leather. I’ll have to examine it more closely before I attempt anything. Pulling off the leather may help get the pink fuzz off. Lol it’s crazy
It’s gorgeous, Sarah!! I want to try this technique (I watched Crys’Dawna do a couple of pieces recently with the Zinzer brush made for smoothing wallpaper). Looks so fun and easy to do. Thx for the bonus video!💜

I love that finish. It's a pity the gold was lost but if you're going to try the one coat method next time you might have better luck with the gold showing through. I loved the top coated finish but it ended up being a genius idea to a add the white wax.
What a great texture. It looks lovely finished. By the way - you tell everyone you are an Aussie, by proud we say "Mum" not "Mom". The Americans will just have to deal, just like we do with their pronunciations.
I have used DB gilding waxes, Annie Sloan white/dark wax, DIY Paint clear wax & Krylon Clear & Antiquing wax (although theirs is more like a gel stain/glaze). I have to say out of those that I have used I like Annie Sloan the best. I do also love DIY wax...it is natural and smells amazing. So I guess to answer your question I do like Annie Sloan & DIY

It is "DROP DEAD GORGEOUS", but looks hard to do!!!!
Ahhh thank you 🥰 it wasn’t too bad just involved and had to wait for layers to dry. It’s super forgiving which is good for me 🤣
"This could roll--or it could go completely pear-shaped"!!! 😂😂😂
Never heard that one. 😁👍
[That low to the ground style is going to save the effort it takes to dust or sweep under it.]
Hahaha 💯 must have been designed by someone who is not a fan of cleaning 🤣
I love it
Thanks Leesa
Yay bonus video! I can’t say I love this technique but the video was fun, and the table is very pretty as it turned out. The table is unique, I’ve never seen this style before. And those thick drawer sides! Well-made piece.
Question - have you ever chalk painted over a table with a leather inlay? I haven’t searched UA-cam yet but I will. This curb find table had pink fluffy fabric over the leather 🤦♀️
Perfect shirt you’re wearing. Today my coffee needed coffee so off to the corner I went for a flat white ☕️
See ya Saturday Sarah!
thank you Brenda 😍 it really is a well made piece for sure.
I think I saw that one too, it looked kind of like denim. I want to try this technique!
Thank you Ashley! That’s so cool I’m a fan of all Crys’Dawna work! Glad you liked the video 🥰
It’s a lot of fun and I bet you’d put a funky twist on it! I’d love to see that video 🥰
@@VintageAndPainted Good Morning, Sarah! I love to watch Crys’Dawna work too. She’s created so many beautiful pieces over the years and I’ve learned so much from her. Here’s the video she did a couple of weeks ago using this technique. Have a wonderful day!🥰💜ua-cam.com/video/qKIdlmba-Wc/v-deo.html
I love that finish. It's a pity the gold was lost but if you're going to try the one coat method next time you might have better luck with the gold showing through. I loved the top coated finish but it ended up being a genius idea to a add the white wax.
😊 thanks Deb! I was sad to loose the gold as well…it looked good in my head 🤣 but as you say maybe one coat would be better!
Oh i love this little table. So wish u were closer, i'd buy it! Would this technique would look good on a wardrobe?
Ooo you know Helen I bet it would look good. Glad you liked the vid 🥰
🐼 Big Bear Hugs from a 68 yr old grandma in Kirby, Texas, USA 🐼 ❤ 🎀
🤗🤗😍
Do you think another type of finish would have worked better other than General finishes so you would have to use wax?
Sorry Nicole I am not sure I understand the question
thought I could hear something, it was you yelling about a bonus vid. great energy, thanks for being awesome
Hahaha Neal! I laughed so hard…thank you for that! You have my kinda humor 🤣
Beautiful dear 🌹
Thank you 😊
Looks gr8…I guess if u wanted to bring out some gold accents u could substitute the white wax with gold wax…what do u think?
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Ooo you know that sounds fun! It would be a very glam piece for sure!
My goodness, I would definitely be keeping that 💙
Love it. If you could post it to 🇦🇺 that would be appreciated 🤣🤣
Hahaha that’s awesome Jane 🥰 I’ll bring it in my suit case at Christmas 🤣
What a great texture. It looks lovely finished. By the way - you tell everyone you are an Aussie, by proud we say "Mum" not "Mom". The Americans will just have to deal, just like we do with their pronunciations.
Hehe love it Debra 🇦🇺🦘I’m definitely a proud Aussie.
Glad you liked the texture 🥰🥰
Wow! I love it! The white wax looks wonderful. I have never used it before. Do you have a preference on waxes?
I have used DB gilding waxes, Annie Sloan white/dark wax, DIY Paint clear wax & Krylon Clear & Antiquing wax (although theirs is more like a gel stain/glaze). I have to say out of those that I have used I like Annie Sloan the best. I do also love DIY wax...it is natural and smells amazing. So I guess to answer your question I do like Annie Sloan & DIY
@@VintageAndPainted Thank you so much! I'm grateful for the advice. Blessings, Kim. 🙂
Sarah you are so kind and giving and not to mention so so talented. I wish I was your neighbor. You would have to run me off. You are so generous and I know you would be a great best friend. Much 💕
And the hardware was the perfect earrings for that table.
Ah Caroline you are amazing! I’m sure I wouldn’t run you off if we were 😍
Those earrings…hardware 🤣 were so sweet!
