    How do you know, just by looking at that fuse diagram, which one of those fuses are connected to the "Key in the ACC position" AND ARE SPARE/UNUSED FUSES? Because it might say ACC (like the one you chose), but it could be connected to some other circuit and may be powering some other ACC device. Another way of asking this is, so just because it says ACC, does that mean it's 100% an unused / spare fuse?

    • @LiL13izzy7
      @LiL13izzy7  Рік тому

      There are several ways I learned about which fuses are "always on," and which ones will turn on when the key is in the ACC position: One is just to google it - (your car make/model/year hot fuse locations). The other is through trial and error - I could jump onto a circuit via any given fuse (via add-a-circuit like I described in the video), turn the key, and see if your accessory turns on in various key positions. You can also use a multimeter to see if there is current running through the fuse, but that is a more involved process.
      If there is a fuse present , it is usually powering something, and would not be considered unused, kind of like a household outlet in your home with a power cord plugged into it.

      Having to ask this question is dumb.

    Can I use a new 5A fuse for USB and leave old 7,5A fuse or do they both have to be 7,5A?

      They don't have to match, but I'd never use anything higher than the original amperage fuse.

    how do you know which right fuse rating is to be use with your usb charger?

    • @LiL13izzy7
      @LiL13izzy7  3 роки тому +1

      I check the total max output listed for the USB. This figure is usually listed in the info section on the page where you buy it. I also make sure only to plug it into a fuse location that is rated for similar amperage.

    No offense man but that's a horrible spot for a USB port, let me explain... Most people keep thier phones(and other devices that they charge)either in the center console or the passenger seat, those USB wires will be laid out either across the driver's legs or lap while being used.

    • @LiL13izzy7

      I have my phone mount in the AC vent directly above that USB port, on the left side of the steering wheel, so I'm my case, it is the perfect spot for me. Not everybody mounts their phone or devices in the same spot. I use my phone as a gps map device, so having it in that spot is in my line of sight, and keeps my short charging wire out of my lap. I'm my case, placing my phone in the center console is useless and dangerous, because looking down at a map while driving is wreckless. This is my car, and I've set it up the way it's best for me, not for most people.

    what if i want to add another usb port? should i tap into another 7.5 fuse or should i make it a series or parallel connection? thanks!

      If you’re trying to charge many things at once then you should tap into another fuse. If you just want more options of where to plug something in then you can do the series connection. If you have many things charging at once, it has the possibility to create to much of a pull and pop the fuse.
