Cool. You mentioned 07’ and up, I have an 08, no switches or blanks in my particular vehicle, the center console has nothing. The only place this may work would be to pop out the dash light dimmer roll-ey switch or the blinking security light insert. The link shows they are 26 bucks now. Your video drove a 100 percent price increase!! Welcome to the yt hall of fame sir
I could not find FOR THE LIFE OF ME where the other plug goes. The instructions on Amazon are trash. The most simple and straight forward installation I've found. Thank you! And one hand is rather impressive.
Great video. I installed mine in about 15 minutes. I did have to break off one of the locking tabs to get it to fit in the hole. It's way too tight otherwise. Question for you. I have a useless aux/usb plug in my Corolla on the left side. I'd like to replace that with another one of these USB plugs. Can I piggy back on the other plug the same way it plugs into the lighter plug? I'd really love to have 4 USB ports.
Is it able to remove the original USB port and place this new USB port on the right slot(not using the left and middle slot but just replace the original one instead)? My Corolla doesn't have extra slots because the left and the middle slot are already be used for the power buttons of the heated seats....I'm interested in this USB port with qc3.0, just want to know if it's still fit my vehicle.
Absolutely. The original AUZ/USB port is useless because it doesn't have enough power for even my GPS. Just unplug it and pop it out then put this in the same slot.
Could this be used to replace the stock USB? I was thinking of using this in a Scion FRS and the cig ligter ports are spread apart. Could I just use the grey wire from that into this new charger port?
My Corolla has controls for heated seats in the panels you're looking at. But I have a blank panel between this area and the steering wheel. Could this item be fitted there with the wiring long enough to reach to the cigarette lighter ?
Hi, great video! I manage to get one of these but typically it doesn't fit and has the L shape connector as you mentioned. How would you recommend to hard wire it? Tap into the fuse box with a piggy back wire or connect directly to the existing LShape connections? Or better still perhaps a new video showing how it's done 😄. I'm kidding but your help would be most appreciated 👍
@@Donnythelatemodeltech Cheers for that mate, I'll give that a goo this weekend 👍 Just one last question if I may, the cable on my Toyota is Black and White, would you know which is positive/negative?
I think I've figured it out. After a bit of research I've found that the wire that connects to the centre of the cigerette lighter is positive, which happens to be black making the black &white negative. I just temporarily hooked the wires accordingly and the usb socket lit up! You'd think the colour coding would be standardised or at least to manufacturer. Cheers anyway for your help 👍
@@Donnythelatemodeltech correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t believe the cigarette lighter will still function after this as it won’t be receiving power.
@@johnbod The cigarette lighter is reconnected in series after the charging port. However, I've noticed that the the cigarette lighter does not output nearly the same power--things I've used to charge through the cigarette lighter no longer charges.
The lighter is plugged back in and there is a leaf coming off the lighter for the USB. My lighter plug works just fine after this. I have a multi port charger plugged in and all is well.
The the specific dual port USB used in the video will not work for Galaxy S21 fast charge or super fast charge. I installed it but still got regular charge. Although I believe this is only the case with Galaxy S21 phones. It should do fast charge with all others.
🤣 One-handed installation boss man! Camera in one hand, legendary motion with the other. 😎

Lol, I have a 2017 Corolla and actually the factory one is 1 amp, even worse. Great video, can't wait to do this

I hope you are getting a fat commission check. Amazon bumped the price from $13 to $30!
Thank you boss do you know if they have that option but for type C android based?

I have the same question. I assume that you can just unplug the original port with USB and AUX, take it out, and just put this one instead

you make me feel like a dual aux port
Total props to the install with one hand! If that's not an indicator of how something is really easy to install, I don't know what is!
🙂
Thanks brother, this helped a lot!
Can I use this with the iPhone lightening charging cable. That has a much smaller USB Piotr p
I have a L shaped plug and don’t want to hardwire.... is there any other option or product I could use instead?

Pretty cool I need one for my Highlander!
Is there a way to not connect the blue light to power wire to keep the light off but the unit still works?
Hi Donny, how if I wanted to install two dual usb ports into the existing empty slots in my corolla? How's the wiring going to be? Thanks.
Your going to need to hardwire it , I had to wire my tundra like this

I CAN use This product to upgrade the multimedia USB port and work in a Corolla 2020?
Do they make a pass tru like this to power other devices?
Can I add two of these to my Corolla with no problem

Can you replace the OEM inset? I don't have any extra ones/space so I was thinking of replacing it with the OEM one.?
Yes, pop out the useless OEM AUX/USB plug and put this one in that slot.
@@davidkrump9446what happens to the music? The oem usb connected to the radio so you could charge and play your music at the same time

ou are correct. It's not a 45W charger but it charges my S23 (which draws 25W) just fine. Just not super-fast charging.
