    I did this for my qualifying race and destroyed this kid on the home stretch. I later saw him at an ice cream place afterwards and told him he had a good race. Then the same thing happened next year and it was kinda awkward.

    Don't forget the indoor 400m as a tactical race, that one can get real crazy sometimes! Wish I'd known this when I used to race it, might've helped me win a few more races

    Be honest with us Nick, you could have done a time trial race in that 100m with Nick 😅 but it was a lot more exciting for us to watch as a sit-and-kick.

    At the level that I am(Middle School), most of the kids don't really understand the concept of a tactical race, everything is a time trial, which is a shame because I am a sit and kicker

    And if you are against the class of the field (for example on a 1500m race), its better to stay with him and try to survive? Or its better to just be conservative and focus on a second or third position?

    You are so right about the shoes, got my shorter race PBs with a particular pair of shoes. Not comfortable over 10k but for shorter distances shoes, shoes, shoes

    As an 8/15 runner the the one time I won a race was when I wasn’t feeling good going into the race so I sat off my teammate in like 5th or 6th and kicked for the finish and literally passed the last guy with like 10m to go

    The Centrowitz position in 2016 was the lead. A gutsy race to win wire to wire. We are not all Pre so good advice.

    Hai Nick..... Greeting from Singapore! I've subscribe to your you tube channel. I have seen most of your videos, especially the recap videos and your races with your subscribers. Wish I can be there to witnessed it though. I loved athletics events on any competitions. Yours are my favourite. I am not build for any sports except for playing badminton as I am a fat.....he he lol😇😇😄😄. I did tried rumgum products which is easily available in my country through online shop. It taste good and it did perk up my energy while I played badminton. I loved the bubblegum and cinnamon flavour. My friends enjoyed it too. God bless to you and your family👋👋👐👐

    I have never run track before and i joined the team this year. I have run cross country for 3 years. My coach entered me in the two mile meet, does anyone have any advice on how to tackle that distance in track? It seems like a lot and I'm worried i will be too worn out to kick at the end

    100 meters is not a good race to sit and kick on. At least where you’re racing fast. It’s a 100% effort all the way to.
    The 200 meters does have a little bit of tactics, though it’s still 97-98% full speed at the first 100m.
    The 400m is very much a strategic race.

    What if the leaders personal best is a whole minute faster than urs? Then how would we be able to win. Especially in the 3200.

      In that situation if you wanna win/place you're probably just gonna have to try and stick with the lead pack for as long as possible. If you haven't died out by like the 6th lap then you should just try and gut it out the last 800 and try and outkick in the last 200/100m

      In that case you would need to snap their knee caps before the race
