  • Blake and Mike is back again (finally) at DIYHEMI, sorry it took so long guys! But we have a legit air conditioned office in our shop now!
    Anyways, we are working on Project Pink Punisher and installing a new Milodon mid sump oil pan on the 6.1L Hemi swap Barracuda (Cuda). It was a pain to install because at first we reused the old windage tray, which wasn't the problem. The biggest problem is that because the Milodon is a stamped steel pan, it is not as rigid and so your sealing is not very even across the seal area. We basically did not put a full bead around the whole gasket and both sides and it leaked. We then changed it to a FelPro gasket we got at O'reilly and it worked beautifully with the full bead of RTV. We are pushing through on this hemi swap! We will keep sending you guys content on this project. Hemi Swap the World! #HSTW
    Thanks guys for watching
    If you want to help support us more! Please check out what hemi parts we have available in our store! We are continuing to add products to our hemi swap product list. Our new QUICKHEMI harness is now in stock for a full plug and play standalone harness that plugs into the factory PCM/ECM and the existing engine harness. Yes our harness saves you a good bit of money because we still utilize the existing engine harness that will usually come with your junkyard swap hemi.

    Would you know what oil pan I would need for a gen 2 ram?

    Hey Blake, I don't think the Main bolts are torque to yield according to Chrysler, they are torque to angle, but don't necessarily hit the yield point. Head bolts are torque to angle as well and not yield, the rod bolts are torque to yield though. That being said, it's pretty cheap insurance to get new bolts, better to err on the side of safety so good advice.

    • @SUBLIMEparts
      @SUBLIMEparts  3 роки тому +2

      Yeah I’ve heard that as well. I’ve heard both torque to yield and not, so I always err on the side of caution and treat as torque to yield. They look like a chromoly based bolt, but I have no way of verifying. At $25 ish dollars for all bolts, it’s cheap insurance like you said.
      I’m kind of weird like that. If I cannot find a solid source of information, I assume the worst case scenario 🤷🏻‍♂️

    That 90° is very specific. You need an actual torque angle gauge or a couple companies make digital torque wrenches with the angle feature. I have the snap on version and it's awesome.

      Blake’s 90 and torque arm are above any calibrated instrument 🙏😆

      I got lucky, a lady was selling a snap on torque angle gauge for 50$ on Craigslist.
      I will be done with it mid August and will be happy to pass it along

    ARP main bolts are hard to come by over the past several months - I tried to buy them with no luck. Last I heard it was October before they might have them again

    I’m swapping my pan for a Milodon mid sump on my 2021 6.4 Hemi. Any idea where I can get main bolts and studs? ARP is sold out until November. Any other manufacturers make good aftermarket bolts?

    Would there be enough room, to run in every main cap? Right now arp only has main cap oil studs and not other studs, have a engine waiting on just studs and would like to be able to get it done?
