I heard that as a way of dismissing the huge importance Stephanopoulos was putting on it, and moving on to other things. Biden is a big part of brokering for peace in the Middle East and for arms to Ukraine from a hostile Congress, plus he has to deal with SC fallout, among other things. Maybe the debate is less important to him than those things. Which certainly prove his mental competence, as does a FULL physical he had, and revealed the details of, in February. (Not the "cognitive test" Trump had, which is the kind of test you use when someone seems off.) Maybe Biden actually thinks the work he does is more important than being a demagogue, which he isn't. Do you think he has his priorities straight?

How important is being smooth speaker compared to actually passing historic legislation? When was the last time we had even the basic prevention of not letting DV committers have guns? When was the last time we had good manufacturing jobs starting up in the US, jobs which also make us less dependent on foreign powers and transportation problems? When was the last time we had our crumbling infrastructure addressed (the 1960s). Student debt relief. Union support, so ordinary people don't have to work 2 jobs just to get by. Reducing. insulin prices so that people don't have to dangerously halve their doses because they can't afford more.
You're comparing all that, and more, to 90 minutes on a stage with purposely-done bad lighting, bad camera angles, and low mic volume, plus a bad cold? Really?

The clearest parts are when he calls for someone to be killed, because he gets off on that. Whereas, if you read the transcripts of the debate, you'll find that Biden actually had some coherent things to say. And didn't lie every time he opened his mouth, as Trump does.
