I like how Wrestlemania 21 came out a whole year before the PPV even happened as well so we didn't even have the stage from Wrestlemania 21 in the game. It was just a Wrestlemania XX stage with the logo taped over it.
I remember WrestleMania 2000 on N64 doing something similar. The game came out before the show it was named after so they used the WrestleMania 15 stage. All they did was replace XV with 2000, replace the ring aprons, and change the name bars slightly.
Fun fact. in WWF Raw, when you create a wrestler, the weapons in the game scale with the size of your wrestlers hands.....it's amazing giving your wrestler giant hands and then you pick up a chair and it is GIGANTIC.

Me and my bro loved No Mercy, Day of Reckoning, Shit your mouth and Here comes the pain. They were actually fun.
One of my absolute fondest, GREATEST gaming memories is just a mere few seconds back in 2005. My best friend was an Xbox guy, and I was a GameCube guy. We were playing WrestleMania 21 on his Xbox in his dorm room at college. If you played WrestleMania 21, you know the commentary comes on while the match is still loading. I am Bret, he is HBK. During the loading screen, JR says "We are coming to you live from Calgary, Alberta, Canada". As soon as the match loads, you hear "Yee Haw!!" from the crowd. We were rolling on the floor laughing so hard. To this day, if either one of us says "We are coming to you live from Calgary, Alberta, Canada" the other one immediately says "Yee Haw!!". We also made several great memories with Raw 2's Season Mode trying to drop a box on Hogan (it was always Hogan) and we would always laugh if it would take him out, or miss, and he looks around all confused. Great times.
I'm sorta disappointed you didn't catch that you can have a custom tron on Raw 2. You can also customize Rey to look more like the one in the trailer. I had all three of these games and actually had the launch version of WrestleMania 21 since I pre-ordered it from blockbuster when I was a kid. On top of that I didn't have internet so I didn't play with the patch until about 16 years later when showing it to a friend. If I can remember correctly you have to create a wrestler before you can start the career mode. You didn't miss much. The only interesting things on career mode is the arenas and legends. For the arenas they had the Civic Center, Boiler Room which was just a ring in a boiler room looking area but I always liked the indy like hs gym.
My friend hyped up the Raw games back in the day and I never got into them. I ended up playing WM21 throughout my time with my Xbox and yes it sucks but it's nostalgic for me and I need to find a copy lol.
Back in 2006 they had a mod for the PC Verizon of this game called total edition, it updated the raw stage, and all the wrestlers, I didn't know this was WWF RAW, and I was high upset the game was bare dry, I thought I t was a old WWF game from 1999, but I did learn how to mod (changing entrance videos and music) the create an entrance is the most in depth part of this game
16:34 I only ever had 2 games (well games series I should say) on the PC, Command & Conquer and Sim City. I can imagine a wrestling game on the PC must of been quite tricky to play.
If you ever think that xbox gamers got the short end of the stick, Just remember that PC gamers were stuck with WWF Raw as the only wrestling game till WWE 2k15. Yes, for 13 fkn years PC never got a wwe game.
Ian is it possible for you to create a history of WWF/E Gameboy titles. Most of the Gameboy WWF/E games were awesome. WWF War Zone had the Raw Is War Arena has It's only arena in the game
You could use the Xbox hard drive to upload music to the console and use that music as entrance music for you CAC...that was my favorite feature of Wrestlemania 21. Thats it.
Wait, hold up. In Wrestlemania 21, there are rope breaks in the Hell in the Cell? Was that the default setting? I know that is such a small detail, but it stopped me in my tracks XD.
Raw 2 was flawed but to this day it still has the best create an entrance on any WWE game ever, I'd spend more time creating than playing. The fact you could use your own songs and time when pyro comes off was brilliant. WM21 I've never been so disappointed it was awful in every aspect.
I am loving the superman collection its awesome my favourite WWE games were the smackdown vs raw games like SD vs raw 07. 09 2010 and 2011 i played 2k17 but didn't like how the controls were
The first RAW on the XBOX was actually playable compared to that crap called Wrestlemania 21. The latter had potential because everything was decent, BUT the gameplay itself.
they needed to make Raw 3, out of so many films that have failed as well as tv shows, they still make a follow up. Mortal Kombat has had many weak games, but they still made them. so, not making Raw 3 was the BIGGEST mistake, out of these 3, Raw 2 is THE BEST. it;s a good game, Raw has an awesome create a feature, but controls, how the wrestlers are, bad, 2, fixed a lot, missed out a few things, and WM 21, wtf
I actually prefer the smokey atmosphere the Raw games had, I'll give them credit for that, because I thought their arenas looked more realistic; actually prefer WWE 2K with that older, slightly hazey filter, i.e. SummerSlam 88, Smackdown 2002, Raw 2005, SummerSlam 2006/2008, WCW Nitro, WCW Halloween Havoc 1997, and WrestleMania 22 are my favorite arena in WWE 2K, for that precise reason. However, Raw for the Xbox looked great for it's time, and still visually kinda holds up today, but the animations looked so stiff and robotic, that really removed the fun and excitement it could have had, in my opinion... I like the idea of more functional equipment boxes and stage area... WWE 2K feels so bare, it's confusing why they don't bring some of those ideas back, i.e. pulling weapons out of equipment boxes - that's actually pretty clever, in my opinion..
when i saw that freez after the pin fall on wm21 i thought for a second is the disc scratched nah thanks for letting me know about these issues before i spent money on that glitch fest of a game and i thought 2k20 was the worst
The first Raw was basically unplayable, but the fact you could rip music from your CD collection for your CAW entrance was amazing at the time

I am loving the superman collection its awesome my favourite WWE games were the smackdown vs raw games like SD vs raw 07. 09 2010 and 2011 i played 2k17 but didn't like how the controls were
Crazy that same Jeff hardy model was cut from HCTP also
I also wanna know who voiced that RVD line now too.. damn it
Raw 2 was my favorite, especially the rumble
I had XBOX. If you ever wondered who was HYPED for all three Legends of Wrestling games? It was XBOX wrestling fans.
did he ever review the ultimate muslce game that came out on gamecube?
Of course we remember how well it went when Nintendo and WWE came back together for 2K18 lol.
The last WWE game to be on the switch was 2K Battlegrounds. What a disappointment.
Hey Tazz, what's your prediction for this match? Sota! Is Michael Cole's best call ever
The first RAW on the XBOX was actually playable compared to that crap called Wrestlemania 21. The latter had potential because everything was decent, BUT the gameplay itself.
I had all the consoles all the wrestling games
what a time
they needed to make Raw 3, out of so many films that have failed as well as tv shows, they still make a follow up. Mortal Kombat has had many weak games, but they still made them. so, not making Raw 3 was the BIGGEST mistake, out of these 3, Raw 2 is THE BEST. it;s a good game, Raw has an awesome create a feature, but controls, how the wrestlers are, bad, 2, fixed a lot, missed out a few things, and WM 21, wtf
i heard that wwf raw 2 lets you go outside the ring during the royal rumble. Ive watched vids looks cool.
I have seen RAW 2 & WM 21 in school as friends borrow pretty they popular
Will you please do a series on the wwe games for the 360/PS3 😊
i wish they was making wrestling games now
I actually prefer the smokey atmosphere the Raw games had, I'll give them credit for that, because I thought their arenas looked more realistic; actually prefer WWE 2K with that older, slightly hazey filter, i.e.
WWE 2K feels so bare, it's confusing why they don't bring some of those ideas back, i.e. pulling weapons out of equipment boxes - that's actually pretty clever, in my opinion..
remember raw andd raw 2 as kids playing all the time on xbox
when i saw that freez after the pin fall on wm21 i thought for a second is the disc scratched nah thanks for letting me know about these issues before i spent money on that glitch fest of a game and i thought 2k20 was the worst
Surprised you didn't mention how in the RAW & Raw 2 games the wrestlers walked line they had a load in their pants.
You can see it in every second of gameplay, hahaha.
Create your character, than you have the option for career mode on 21
The woman commentator from raw 2 is Geoff's wife, hes in accounting.
