- My Godox V1S stopped working with my Sony A7IV and I couldn't figure out why. I even when back to the camera store, and magic, they got it to work and I looked like an idiot. I got back home and it still didn't work with my camera. If your flash isn't firing, try turning off silent mode. I have mine on the function menu, but on the A74 it's under the camera screen #7. On the A73 it's under camera 2 screen 4 of 9.
Other things to check are live view mode and image preview.

this just HELPED me, flash was only going off in AUTO and No other mode. I tried EVERYTHING, but something told me to google my issue precisely which led me to this video. flash is working again, thank you!

@@AdventureMuse the silent mode don’t give you stripes on the images? I always forgot that, think have to use a high speed shutter.

An issue I came across was not pushing the flags in far enough to hear a click and would randomly stop working in the middle of shoots but thank God figured it out

I had the same issue and this fix did not work for me. The camera went to Silent Mode and the Flash did not fire repeatedly. I then changed the Setting for Shutter Type = Mechancal instead of Electronic and everything worked as normal.

I have similar issue i think with my V860iii and a6400.. sometimes it said that accessories not supported.. it's kinda annoying when you're in an event..
That’s the camera. Sometimes the contact gets wet or dusty on the camera. Make sure you use a hot shoe cover when your not using it
Mine still doesn't work. It has a habit of suddenly stopping while a shoot is in progress
That is the worst! Can you take it back to the store you bought it from? Has it been leas than a year?

Many times it suddenly stops working in the middle of a shoot. And i can't figure out why. Then all it does is make the beep sound when you attempt to make it fire
Take it back. That shouldn’t be happening. Problem is they have been out of stock at my local camera store. Hopefully they are in stock where you bought it.

I find it really infuriating that equipment that is supposed to be professionnal quality is so annoyingly complicated to set up. Every damn time I need my flash in a hurry, I find myself struggle for 10 minutes to find out why it’s not firing...
Eventually I just ended up dedicating an entire preset just so when I need to shoot with flash I don’t have to go throught this BS...

To just work. I have a canon friend who has this flash for Canon and doesn’t seem to have the same issues.. so maybe it is Sony?

So, every time it happens you just turn off your camera and open it again? right? I experience that while I'm at a wedding. 😢 helpless even my co-photog didn't know what to do. Thank you for this! next time I know what to do if it happens. ❤
It's really frustrating. The turn off the camera and back on works most of the time, if that doesn't, remove the flash and reset it. Make sure you have the metal foot/shoe. The plastic one had all the issues with Sony. The Sony hot shoe I guess is different than most camera.

Solução: pressionei por 5 segundos o botão circular bem no centro e apareceu alguns números. Fiz um disparo funcionou, pressionei de novo para voltar ao normal e refiz o teste de disparo voltando ao normal o flash.

Unfortunately Sony’s hot shoe design and the flash companies having to make different hot shoe connections cause a lot of problems. Too much plastic, weak connection points, poor fitting and exposed wires lead to misfires, shut downs and broken parts. I would never trust it in a paid shoot.
Agreed... But Godox updated the hot shoe to metal. I had upgraded my flash and now I don't have issues. (for now)
@@AdventureMuse Im glad you havent had any issues. IMO Sony has a weakness with their multi interface shoe design and also the contacts. They are more prone to connection problems with the 24 tiny wires being fragile. Canon, which I shoot, is going to be implementing a multi interface shoe and I trust it will be more robust than Sony's. Not trying to bash Sony, just giving my opinion. Glad yours is working well! Yes, I’d recommend it. I love this flash and now that I understand the function I haven’t had any issues. You’ll probably have the same “issues” with non Sony flashes

Photographing an event tonight and it wasn’t firing. A another photographer said to take it off the camera and re install it. Surprisingly, that worked.

Hi , thanks for your great videos,- can you connect external flashes via cable in this camera? I've been having a lot of issues with this camera and the hotshoes. I sent it to Sony / buying the multiple part involve fort this hot shoes/ changing all godox flashes for the new metal hot shoes and at the end this camera is really unreliable for photography. hotshoes becomes loose frequently and do not recognize flashes when turning the camera up and down. the only way is to connect external flashes via cable to it. I don't know how to do it since it doesn't have a sync port. any help will be appreciated.Thanks
You should be able to. I haven’t tried, I’ve only used speed lites on and off the camera .

Hi, why do I have the image on my camera with this flash shows yellow light, but when I take a photo, it turns out very cold! When I set auto white balance, everything is fine, but when I set the mode M, and manually set the white balance, I have to color the image in yellow light that the photo would be warm! What is this nonsense?)))
What are you setting your white balance at?
@@AdventureMuse On any , 4200 , 5500 and up , but still the picture is white and cold from the flash ! Until I see the image in a yellow tint! But the image in the monitor also then turns yellow ! What is this nonsense??

I’ve the Sony a7iv and the same flash. The light come from the flash but it’s not affecting the photo so it’s looking like no flash
Try taking the flash on and off the camera. Also do you have a plastic shoe, or metal? if it's out of warranty or you can't return it, you can replace it yourself. They have made a slight improvement to it with a metal shoe.

I have the same issue. But turning it on and off won't have any effect. I own lots of Godox products and when I use it in combination with a trigger it works fine as a camera off flash. But on the sony hotshoe it won't. I tried on my rIII and RV. Do you have any more ideas what to do?
Silent mode can’t be on, and if that doesn’t work, try taking it on and off the camera. It could be a bad shoe, is yours plastic? They started replacing them with a metal version that works better. If it’s out of warranty you can replace it yourself- there are instructions online. It’s more an issue with Sony than Goddx. They have a funny shoe connection- good luck
Thanks, I found the issue, You have to push the flash really hard till the maximum to make it work into the sony hotshoe. With the godox x pro trigger it isn't necessary, but with this flash it is. But I have a big issue with the intensity of TTL and the WB of the V1 connected to my A7RV. It is changing all the time. Horrible results. I can only use manual mode and this is critical for events and parties.

Hey! Are you having issues with sliding this in and out in the hot shoot? Mine got stuck and the bottom of my godox broke off.
Oh no! That didn't happen to me, but the have replaced the plastic shoe with metal in newer flashes, and if yours is out of warranty you can buy the replacement for cheap. So sorry to hear.

I had the same issue on Sunday. I ended
Up taking it off the camera’s hot shoe and putting it back on and it worked the rest of the night. I’ve actually read it’s Sony’s tech that is the problem- I use to have issues with my non native canon flash on the Sony hotshoe, but thought it was the flash, now I’m starting to wonder. I hope you had a back up.
@@AdventureMuse I just updated the body to 1.05 and then 1.11 and still have the same problem. However, after the update, when bursting images the flash triggers on the second exposure, and if I keep spraying it will trigger every time the flashes are ready. So If I hold down the shutter and spray it does trigger the flashes every couple of seconds.

Ugh, sorry. FlashQ triggers are still around, and they are cheap. I use to use them all the time with two speed lights and my Sony A7r3

They can but you need a trigger. I’ve used flashQ cheap and small, but maybe a little buggy

I don't, but I'm guessing it should. It has a flash shoe, but not sure about the shutter. That's mainly a cinema camera, with a super 35 stills.

I have a Sony A7III but overheard that the TTL on godox speedlite doesn’t seem to work that well with Sony Alpha camera’s. What’s your experience with this topic? Because I really want to buy one, but most of the times I’m shooting events in TTL.
I use it in TTL all the time, but don’t use my A7iii much with it- I’ll do a few tests today any post back.
