I own it, and I actually enjoy it quite a bit. The players at its BR usually underestimate its guns and high speed performance, so it can be quite fun to fly.
Gaijin just put too much weight on fire power when making brs. Those ‘sad’ planes are staying there just because of the guns they have, and planes like yak9u are still sitting at 4.0.
They put too much weight on firepower in prop BRs and too little in top tier which is incredibly annoying.
and J-21 got it´s b.r. increased...
rather than fire power it's gauge; because Russia has mediocre armament, and except mig props and subsonic jets with that brutal performance, most planes are badly placed like the yak 3P at 5.0 having worse flight model than the earlier yak 3 or the yak 9UT which is noticeably worse than the yak 9u, but is 5.7 because of a 45mm gun

I've had a couple 7 kill games in this thing, it's probably one of my Top 5 favorite planes. The main thing is patience, and to use the fact that most people underestimate you to lull them into a false sense of security, and then slap them in the ass with 6x151 Stealth's when they turn their backs on you. Of course, anyone with a brain won't fall for it, but a lot of Ally pilots, well, yeah...
Any time someone says "allied pilot" in a sentence such as yours..I assume they're horrible in US planes.
Its almost an admission they themselves are making.
In essence,when they try to do the ignorant things in US planes they do with Ger,JP or Ru but cant get away with it.

I actually had fun playing the Ouragan, the thing is: Putting french songs while playing french makes the engine and guns more powerful by at least 30% ( And i have scientific proof but it's secret ). That why your Narval sucks, its not motivated enough.
I was gonna say he should fly it backwards but the engine/prop is already on the wrong side.
Just play the mystere 2a if you want to fly that 7.7 dung

@@sargesacker2599 nah i usually get missiled within the first 3 mins. crashing is bad for RP gains when you gotta wait for crew lock, I'd rather just miss my bombs than to go down with them
You are wrong. This plane is the best for grinding and has no competition around there. Guns at 300 and use them properly and you will love it

I personally have grown to love this plane. Use it as a supporting energy fighter. Also, it's not great at climbing traditionally, pretty abysmal actually, *however*, it can climb quite well if you understand the unique application of its mechanics. Gaining speed in a straight and climbing aggressively in bursts has, at least for me, anecdotally proven to be much more effective, and that unique elevator positing and design allows you to pull negative G quite sharply which is great for leveling out fast after the aggressive climb
it's a really good aircraft.

I would suggest try it again. But don’t use it stupidly trying to play mister Zero. It’s for grind. You are almost the first fronting Ju288. Take down few of em and go grind points you will hit almost every second game 60-100k and 10k points. I personally use 300m guns and stealth belt
i think this planes schtick really is ground rb because of the bombs and cannons for strafing definitely not a dogfighter

One of my favorite props irl and in the game is the Narval i really like this plane and imo its a nice plane i do pretty well on it
Seems like the more beautiful a piston plane is the worse it performs... except the Ta-152 H, the 109 K4, the La9, the MiG225, the Spitfire Mk24, the LF M9 the F4U-4B, and the f8f, those are gorgeous and absolute beasts
I have very fond memories clapping this thing on release while flying the D-13. I feel sorry for French pilots because it seems they are in the same bad spot as they were a few years ago.
I should have rewatched this video before buying. It handles like a boat, and accelerates like a base model Corolla.
The only 3 uses for this plane is Ju288C killing for sl, boom and zoom after side climbing when the Ju288Cs are dead, and ground attack.
the 1000lb bombs will finish off a base, the cannons are great and the WEP lasts much longer.
the only plane I've ever reversed is the Ta152, but even then I had to go to the edge of the map and dive under him to get the energy to reverse it and he very nearly got away.
This plane's climb rate was so bad the first two prototypes could not take off without extensive modifications to the airframe.
It just makes my day when you post a ~20min vid
It feels better seeing that I am not the only one that struggles in the S.O.8000. Once you get out of that mode of "must take the head on", I think that this type of plane starts to make less sense.

does ripping your flaps affect the planes performance at all besides not being able to use the flaps? like you lose lift or something?
I think you lose lift, I've noticed that ripping only one flap causes the plane to handle weird

I really like this plane and i'm doing really good with it. Just remember you can outrun anyone outdive anyone you have no compression at all and your negative elevator is super strong. I usually only fear 190s and 152s because they dont compress as much as 109s
sure if you just ignore the part where stuff like most american planes especially outdo you at youre own strengths, (running diving and high speed authority as you mentioned), so no, you can *not* outdo "anyone" in those

So8000 narval basically struggles to climb and do its own job, bad turboprop. Sad.
Defyn, what BR would you put this thing at?
I would say 4.7 at most because this thing is just a boat with 6 20s and because the other plane that gets 6 MG-151s (the A-5/U12) is 4.7 but can take those gun pods off and become a better A-5.
Looking forward to the LA-9 video. It's a plane i loved in AB, but found it very underwhelming in RB. Just can't compete at altitude, and I've never been very good at just staying at ~3k dodging and reversing 3 people at a time.
In that first fight I (N_Lanternshark) survived a head on with DEFYN in my stock j2m. Then I noticed he was heading back towards base w/ 3 of my teammates above him and we were getting a nice ticket lead so I went and hit some soft ground for EZ RP.
I don't approve of this behavior. Always kill enemy fighters first or die trying, especially if one is DEFYN. =)
Fortunately my P47 temmate knew what he was doing and sealed the deal.

Rip when u grinded with that plane lol tbh u do regret getting it but whatever it was good for getting me into tier 5 and getting lions back when I got it. My opinion, get to the Etendard and put a Talisman on it and any high tier grind will be a breeze. That plane is phenomenal
Also rip to anyone who grinds the Mirage and doesn't have a few thousand eagles to spend on mods because that plane is pain unless it's upgraded and has the Magics.
Just run a day of air arcade assault and you can grind out a few early mods without the pain of an ass whooping.

so8000 is really good, first time i'm not ok with one of your videos. tips, try to play it against 7.0 jets. if you have good aim you will revers them all.

What Br. should this plane be?
I own it and feel that it is some kind niche military project that at first sounds impressive and then turn out to be rather flawed... Like the overheating Wyvern S4...--> maybe Br. 5.0ish?
Also the cockpit looks like an ground attack plane(excellent ground visibility, divebombing assist,...).
Whenever people say that a certain plane isn't good at a certain Br. , some make the "git gud" claim. --> you can still be success full with a certain planes if you follow the rules of the plane. I am not against that, but with that argument one could claim that it would be ok to put an I-153 against super props since it can outturn them and still gun them down.
If I understand correctly, this plane shares a variation of the Ta-152H1 engine
I liked this plane when I first got it but I played REALLY passive. Use it rarely in Ground RB now.

This thing is not designed to go up against a fighter. If you do you have to have more energy than them.
What it is however is a very effective JU288 killer.
I'd say NC 900 would be be the best french premium right now if it were available.
After Fw 190A massive engine buff not so long ago it's actually decent.

Sorry I'm not DEFYN but to answer your question I'd say every plane flies different. Even when your in a variant of the same plane it will fly different....a bf109f4 and a bf109f2 flies different...yeah they have similar characteristics boom n zoom energy retention climb rate but the finer details matter....like in a bf109f2 you may climb at 20° and in the f4 you could get away w 30° climb....id say fly the plane you want but get good at what that plane does...when you switch planes you have to switch up the style just a little bit....like I recently got the ITPM1 from the warbond shop, I flew it exactly how I fly my bf109f4 and I went 10-0 on almost every match after the first couple matches....but I could tell I couldn't climb as fast and therefore when I did climb I was slower than usual, so I had to drop the nose to gain speed quicker than I would have w the bf109...just little tweaks is all it takes sometimes...but you not gonna fly a p51 the same way you do a bf109....so switching planes would mean switching styles and if your always switching your not concentrating on the planes strengths....find the plane you want to fly and learn it I've looked up hours of how to fly a bf109 a p63 a p51 a ki a zero because I like those particular planes....
I personally stayed w 1 plane till I got good w it n once I knew more about lift drag fighter maneuvers speed energy flaps throttle control angle of attack, then I went to other planes to see what their strengths are....
Fly the plane you like first, then fly your opponent’s plane that kills you the most.
I’m a level 100 with an ungodly amount of games, and I’ve not played a single plane over 200 games because it just gets boring to me. If you want to get good fast you should stick to one plane, but it’ll get really repetitive and kind of frustrating. If you play a ton of different planes over time you’ll get better, but it will take longer.

Wow! I must say that was completely unexpected. I absolutely disagree with this video. In my opinion Narval is absolute THE best 5.7 plane. The guns AND the keyboard controls of this thing is AMAZING. If you keep your speed above 430 you cannot lose any head on. You have controls to make even spitfires and zeroes unable to dodge you. Also you have AMAZING dive performace, absolutely no compression - this means you easily make planes overshot with downward spiral. I get constant 5-7 kill games in this thing. My best purchase ever.

@@DEFYN Haha no xD I really like the thing. Americans are always taking headons with you and Germany has lots of Ju288 which you annihilate easily. You airspawn then put 10 degree climb at the left or right enemy base. Then you make lots of headons because people for some reason like to go against 6x20mm. If you are diving on someone then he is dead. Your dive maneuverability is just insane. Your job is kinda like on jets, destroying as many people as fast as possible. Then run away. I always play it when I have more than 100% SL booster. Moneymaker. Either way maybe this plane just fits my playstyle. Love your videos Defyn.

The C3 is just really heavy and fat. It has fantastic guns but it doesn't climb that well, its MER is nowhere close to the H1, and it doesn't pull. The BR is just for the firepower and top speed. You can definitely make it work against people who aren't paying attention or who have a massive energy disadvantage but in a fair fight the H1 is a hugely better choice nearly every time.

Useless as it’s used absolutely in a wrong way. This is not a Zero or a pure fighter. From the perspective of this topic which is : grind for Mirage” is the best ever option and it’s a fastest way. I respect your topics as you are very skilled in dog fights. But! This is not the case mate! It just needs to be used differently. This is NOT a fighter and if you use it as a mixed attacker and fighter you grind a lot I mean a lot of points and silver lions as well. I am a very average player somewhere around 3 considering your score is 10 and manage to get over all boring ranks 4to6 most boring being 5. And I done it very quickly with a premium account. Remember that you will need a lot of silver lions to buy all the crap before the Mirage. Definitely must have.
A concept that everyone seems to think, they all play attack aircraft as pure fighters than they usually complain that it's not good while keep trying to play it as such.
As usual incorrect usage will always result in lesser performance or simply failure.
Same goes in NF for things like motor torpedo boats people think the weapons meant for AA are for anti-surface warfare an so complain when those poxy 7.7 mm MG's are terrible against other boat, similar with ASW ships too.

If Gaijin also decided to make rank 4 Hispano have the same belts as AN/M2 (/3) which they did in real life, a SO8000 with four Hispano at 5.0 would wreck, a spitfire mk9 would wreck, and the spitfire mk24 would have chances sniping jets from 2km away as they zoom out. But Gaijin prefers to keep shit as it was so that America doesn't cry Russian bias or britbong dong.

Never had a problem with it in the G variant. I just rush in, head on as many people as possible and zoom back out

Idk dude, i did actually enjoy a8. Literally researched whole american tech tree back in 2016 thanks to it. Sure it dumps a lot of speed, but cannons are melting everything on sight.

Me too. I got a random talisman on the thing, and then it became my favourite plane. I'm at 3.5:1 against griffons, p47's and the like, so it can't be all bad, cos I ain't that good. Without the airspawn it'd be proper phucked though.

Use talisman on F6F-5 or P-63 and you're good to go.
or for some reason you need to grind SL in frence nation.. use P40 this thing do everything well in every game mode and it's dirt cheap as well.
i don't recommend yak3 but yak 9T atleast yak 9T are good in ground RB
3:50 where's the aileron of the left wing? Did it rip with the flap?
They are not ailerons, the narval uses these weird air brake flaps on top and on the bottom of the wing they are a lot of little sticks that are close from each other and they deploy whenever you roll (look closely at the right wing 7:36)

the vautour is a good plane for grinding since you are always at the enemy base before they can get you. just dont turn while beeing faster than 800 kph lol

you can't, the av-8a will get you before you make it and they also have an airspawn now

@@Lxcx333 there are two thing wrong with what you just said. your first point was that you can make it to the bases before the enemy team can get to you and this is the opposite of what you said. the second thing wrong is that sideclimbing won't put you away from av-8's who can still cimb up to you in less than 20 seconds with their insane climb rate
I just played the bearcat at rank 4 and the f-84 at rank 5, almost everything else sucks.

@@ClockPerfection Uhh I put some of mine on my channel, I use Narval often for events and it works like a treat. BTW after watching this vid my friend and I took out our Narvals and...yeah..I got 4, he got 3, pretty much wiped out the entire enemy team. Could have gotten yet another ace but he needed fighters for his warbonds so I let him have the Ta152 so he could finish his dailies as I was already done with mine. I'll be putting it up on my channel in a day or two, lovely match.
@@TheHangarHobbit High kill games don't mean anything. A Corsair can get an ace in top tier, doesn't make it viable does it? Sad reality of the narval is that all other 5.7s outperform it at every relevant metric. My PR for the narval is 7... i still know its dog .

Lvl100 don't mean anything (i have seen lvl 70 with 50 days cause they are free to play and lvl 100 with 2 days because they just play premiums) 2014 kinda mean something. But i have seen people with 40+days of fighter (i am at 27) being very very bad so some people just never learn (not saying you are in this case).
If i said that it's because often you have lvl 12 explaining "how you should play" ^^
truth has to be told... letting AI kill enemies is just a strategy, same when someone is just starting from AF and gets rammed. If i cant have fun anymore, I will at least try to win the game, no matter how. They can let me land or at least reset the chase as much as I can avoid flying near AF... And nobody would reset chase for no reason

Every single time you lose to a more skilled player there is something you can take into your next battle. It's called good sportsmanship and it seems to be a trait that is sorely lacking in the online community.

I would say u are the salty person if u cant accept other strategies than a fair fight. And its strategy as long as u planned to do this. Otherwise fighting b&z is just an "option" as well. And usually options are a part of strategy.
Using game mechanics to give urself advantage is okay and whole stuff saying its not enjoyable is stupid. Maybe for you its not. But for some it is. It is as much as watching ur enemies crash or shoot eachother which is pure luck and 0 skill and yet someone can enjoy this
For sure 5 enemies chasing 1 plane is more enjoyable than making them die on ur AF lol
