My sister used to make this in the 80s and she made it 2 a week every week. Only she would use a different can of Campbell cream of ... soup each time. Sometimes she used cream of mushroom, sometimes cream of broccoli, or cream of celery, and occasionally the cheese soup. Also, add a cup of frozen peas or chopped broccoli. Making this tomorrow for old time sake.
I made this and it was delicious with some modifications. I seasoned my chicken with Sazon, garlic powder, onion powder and black pepper. I used cream of chicken instead of cream of mushroom. I also added a package of Liptons dry onion soup mix.. So easy and even my picky daughter loved it.
I always use chicken thighs, and I add fresh mushrooms and garlic powder. Sometimes I will even add fresh broccoli to it also. It's a big hit in my household. My son LOVES this dish and asks for it every winter.
I do this but with boneless pork chops. I brown them a few minutes first, also I add half a diced onion and half a diced bell pepper to the mix. Mmmmmm.
I used to make this every few weeks for me and my mom. I'd use Garlic salt in the soup, rice and water mixture and season the chicken. Hindsight, I wouldn't season the chicken anymore, just the rice mixture.
I literally had one chicken breast left in my freezer & I'm hungry but depressed and have very low motivation to cook. I searched up one pot cream of mushroom and chicken. I saw alot of versions before I found this simple recipe. Exactly what I needed. I seasoned my chicken with complete seasoning, dried oregano, sazon, black pepper, garlic, onion and ginger powder. I used jasmine rice. My side is frozen green beans that I tossed in the leftover seasoning from the chicken. Perfect meal for a sad, struggling mama
I hope everything is going better for you now. A warm meal does help. Take good care of yourself, mama. We always take care of everyone else, don’t we?
use cream of chicken and thighs instead, cut the thighs into strips and brown with a bit of butter on high heat before following the rest of the instructions, YUM.
Mom would use cream of mushroom, celery and chicken. Of course more rice and you could use more chicken but our favorite part was the rice. This a comfort meal for me especially since mom passed.
This seems similar to the chicken & rice casserole my mother-in-law made back in the 1980s. My husband doesn't trust the doneness of chicken prepared this way, though; would it also work with leftover cooked chicken or canned chicken?
Never seen this before listen people use two bags of onion soup mix to gamble mushroom soup‘s fill them with milk putting stir dump in the onion soup mix stir put in your chicken after putting in the pan and then sprinkle what you got left your onion soup mix packet on the top put in the oven for 4 to 5 hours you’ll have a great chicken and rice sometimes you put onions in it that sounds crazy because you put onion soup but sometimes we put onions in it to an extra mushrooms
My parents been making this for years and I’ve been making it since they passed away you can’t make this in 15 minutes people it takes way longer 5 hours at 350° in the oven ridiculous and they called to 15 minute recipe

Is it just me or does this just taste better when you use bone in chicken?
I think so. I'm a thigh man myself :)

Well done, and exactly how I remember.
Making this now :)
Made it today. Very easy and delicious. Next time I would add a little more water though because all the rice was not fully cooked.
Yaaas I making this
Great. Now I'm hungry again.
😂😂😂
Cream of Celery in place of cream of mushroom is also good too. Also I always thought this called for a packet of French Onion Soup mix as well.

Heck Yeah!!!!
Pretty healthy
Umm umm good
Can you use minute rice for this?
I want to try this with pork chops
I do chicken legs and thighs and add chopped onions ...
I still make this when I'm drunk. Except i use way more seasonings.
Is there really no salt added in recipe?

PS I’m pretty sure this is the way it was written in the original cookbook
4 go 5 hours? I don't see the need to slow cook.
Lol you need to learn to use periods
What's the deal with them oranges lol how about a scoop of ice cream instead 😀
I used to make this for the cast and crew when shooting my porno movies. Ron Jeremy's favorite

Again, I dont get your comment
😒
OMG yawn. So boring
It's a recipe video, not a thriller bro. LOL
lol, that made me laugh
It's a recipe with Campbell's soup lol were you expecting layered, nuanced flavors? !
Worst video ever
tried it yesterday, it was disgusting
That is so rude maybe you didn't follow the correct directions . I don't understand why people have to hurt peoples feeling . It's heart breaking.
You probably fucked it up
