Great post, always enjoy seeing your posts, big fan. I too enjoy the outdoors, not very far from me i go out on the Llangynidr moors, and the Beacons. Love going off out there. Yes like Peak District in your post, gets very cold, windy. My dog hates it, so usually he sits in top of my bergan..lol he is a pug, not a huge dog. Anyways thanks for your post.👏👏
Greetings from Alberta Canada. Love your channel. I wish more people actually relaxed and made a pot of tea. The time “lost” is worth the relaxation and the view.
Weather was a bit moist Tom, but always preferred being out in interesting weather unless I'm shooting, good video as always, have a good, happy Christmas mate and all the best for next year.
My old army mate from London and myself are supposed to be meeting half way,I live up north and are meeting in the Peak District in the spring. I now know whereabouts in the area, that looks perfect. Where was the nearest village. Also nice msr kettle is that the new 1400. Great timing for my planning and video.
Top video mate, loved the bit about The Dambusters.I was brought up a bit further north in the Yorkshire Pennines. Used to 'leyk out on t'moors' quite a lot as a young 'un. We learned early on to not push it when the weather was crap (which was most of the time lol). Keeping off ridge lines and the moor tops when it was really wet and windy was sometimes learned the hard way, but home and a hot brew was never too far away.
Great wee recce. When you were preparing your AdventureFoods dinner and brewing up your tea at the same time a thought occurred to me, specifically what to do if you accidentally bought the wrong AdventureFoods pouch or prepared it badly. Basically, their Hotpot is pure bogging by the way -- either you put too little water into it, so that it's really dried and nasty mashed potato; or you put too much water into it, so that it becomes a creamy soup and can't be eaten out the pouch. So when I saw you making your flask of tea it made me think that you could actually turn the watery hotpot into a flask and have a soup to sup on during the tab. Just a thought. P.S. good call about the puffy jackets.
Wouldn’t you know it, I typed this channel in the search bar, and you just uploaded some good stuff. Again, thank you for the hard work and content. To me walking, navigating carefully, comms, and staying hidden is a lot cooler than guntube stuff… Gung Ho
A great area to walk in. As always you make good points about weather and it’s changeable nature. I bet the puffer jacket brigade were in jeans too..??!! 🤦🏻♂️ People in the wrong kit for the environment is all too common and just preparing for dramas if the weather takes a turn for the worst.
Very nice scenery where you’re at! I just picked up a butane burner. They look very handy. I’ve used an Esbit alcohol stove, but it sure takes a while to get water boiling.
I’m not stoping anyone but I have a question for you. Do you hike/track in cold weather? Butane doesn’t work that well below 0c. You can keep the cartridge in your jacket to keep it warm but something to think about.
@ Interesting. Yes I do a fair bit of cold weather hiking down to -20 C. I’ve no experience with butane in cold temperatures so I will do some research. Thanks.
Propane is better than butane in cold weather, most canisters are a mix. As long as the canister is above 0*C it should work, keeping it in your jacket can help but your burner will work better with a regulator to keep pressure even or a pre heat tube (a metal tube which passes through the flame which pre heats the gas before it hits the burner) usually on a remote canister type stove where you can invert the gas canister which also helps.
Great video Tom. Thanks for sharing. The scenery is awesome.
Just came back from a camp(Netherlands)Nice and fresh love the sound of rain on the tarp.Happy days
Awesome video again Tom as always, brings back lots of memories. Take care pal see you soon.

My daughter was up Mam Tor same time. To reach the trig point you had to engage 4 limb drive. Lol

It’s mainly propane a winter mix minus 6 no problem can go even lower with few tips

@@slippery999 I got a burner that sits remote from the canister. It also comes with an attachment to use the small propane bottles.
Amazing scenery mate. I bet that was cold!
@@everydayprepper a bit!
What kind tea do you recommend for a brew kit, mate? Earl grey? English breakfast? Green tea?
I use 3-in-1 coffees to cut down on rubbish.
