I have been working whith plastic windos as my first job now for half year my boss told me that next week im going to make aluminium bifold because guy who usually makes aluminum products went for vacation. And on top of that its bifold that meets another bifold in a middle and locks it self in to eachother (good luck me )
its weird to me how little the jamb fits into the aluminium slot n held by just staples...been in some situations when jamb needs resizing... have to pull jamb out... then we just silicone n nail thru aluminium to hold jamb... the rules on fixing of doors n windows are pretty intense... but seeing how the aluminium is held (with double glazing in it) to jamb by a couple of staples is just crazy... just dont make sense...what if it breaks away from jamb because the jamb has to be screwed with thousands of screws..

here in scotland we use cleets and shims. before we put glue inside the sashes then we clean it all off

All the connections are glued with 2part glue. Or at least they suppose to be. Tested myself, wont fall apart.
