    Very nice video, lovely way of presenting the material. I would have liked to see a table of the 5 or six uses of each perhaps at the end of the video, it will make it easier to learn after the fact. Thanks

    Thank you! I’m trying to learn Spanish using a service, and I felt like they slowly introduce examples of each, but not all the uses at once. I feel like this is something I need to practice everyday until it’s second nature.

    Thanks for the video - really helpful.
    One thing that continually defeats my understanding though - the word Ser is never used! Unless I have missed its usage - it makes no sense to me!
    Where does Ser come in please?

      Ella quiere ser una enferma.
      she wants to be (ser) a nurse.
      Quiero ser un actor.
      I want to be an actor.
      él quiere ser alto
      he wants to be tall.

    Pregunta! Why do we use "son" when telling time? In your example, you said "it is 6 pm". Why would we use the "they" conjugation for that?

    • @amens_diary.

      Time in Spanish is usually told in plural form e.g ''Son las cuatros de la tarde'' or ''son las diez de la mañana'' and 'son' appropriately with plural forms.
      The exception to this time rule is 1o'clock."Es la una"
      I AM a spanish Learner myself though but I hope this helps.

      Because it's like saying, "It's 9 hours and a half" for 9:30. It helps to conceptualize it as the amount of hours. ¿Que hora es?/Which hour is it? Es la una/It's the one hour. ¿Qué horas son?/Which hours are they? Son las dos/They are the two hours, etc. How many eggs in the basket of time? Does this make sense?

    • @mwenengofero
      @mwenengofero 5 місяців тому

      It's the same as in French. You tell the time by counting the hours from the beginning of the day. Hence plural.

    Why is it 'eres casado o soltero?' using ser to ask the question but the answer comes as 'estoy casado' using estar? Tia

    • @Charlotte_Cinnamon
      @Charlotte_Cinnamon 6 днів тому +1

      También se puede responder "soy casado" "soy soltero" quizá porque es tanto una situación temporal como permanente

    Thanks for the video, great job! One question that I have is: why do we say “tu eres un hombre” for “you are a man”? I feel that that is more of a permanent description and should be used with the verb “ser”?? I am learning Spanish and don’t know a lot yet.. thanks for your help!! 😊

    Excelente! Me encantó, pero no usaría "pissed" para decir "enojada." Es jerga y suena un poco grosero. No combina mucho con el estilo profesional del resto del video. Queda más suave decir, "angry," o "mad."

    Spanish is a bueatiful language but so tricky.
    Why do you pronounce está enojada and está enferma (á e) differently.
    está enojada you separate the 2 vowels (á e).
    está enferma you run the vowels together (á e).
