    This was the absolute clearest demonstration of making one of these wallets I have seen yet! Excellent tutorial! By the way, I love your accent and that what I call a snap you call a popper! And the pokey tool! 😂 Why can’t we Americans come up with fun words like that?

      They are definitely not called poppers. You would never be able to find them in the store.. don’t know why they don’t call it by the proper name Kam Snaps

      @@dcwatashiKam Snaps are a brand name so if they aren't branded it would be wrong to use that name. Mine are not branded so to me they're called poppers. That's what they're called in UK.

    • @dcwatashi
      @dcwatashi 7 місяців тому

      @@user-bn8tr1pi7n I guess it depends on who you’re buying them from because I’ve seen other videos from people in the UK and they call them. Kam snaps or just snaps.
      And this is off-topic but when you’re putting your comment in it says @user… name but when I get my notification sent to my email address it actually lists your name so bizarre. I think everyone should be in control of their privacy but I guess UA-cam doesn’t care.

    Thanks for the tutorial. I have had to take the poppers off. I use a wood burning tool and melt the center of the popper. It easily comes apart and doesn't damage the material. You could use a soldering iron too. I have read, where people use wire cutters. But, I find melting it is easier and faster.

    Hi, wanted to know if your piece has interfacing. Just to clear my doubt, when you showed how to interface to the fabric, you showed a gap of 1/2” on all sides, but in your main fabric it looked as if the interfacing was full? Please clarify.Otherwise all clear

    Sam I can't believe I didn't know you had a video out for this. I've literally just done more or less the same one from Sew Very Easy, the only difference is she rounds the flap and has 3 pockets but I actually prefer yours without the curve. Did you get the idea from her and change it? Great tutorial ❤

      @SewLetsSparkleWithSam  Рік тому +2

      Hi there, I based the sizes on the gift cards that I had at the time and the 4” one was perfect for the smallest one I had, obviously the great thing about the pattern is it can be easily adapted to be useful for individual projects. Happy Sewing

    The only problem is you have two raw edges at the bottom of both of those pockets

    • @SewLetsSparkleWithSam
      @SewLetsSparkleWithSam  9 місяців тому +1

      Yes, this can be resolved by either topstitching all the way around at the end, if you are a confident sewer or a bit of folding and fabric glue. For me, I find it tucks in quite nicely and doesn’t bother me.

    • @dcwatashi
      @dcwatashi 9 місяців тому

      @@SewLetsSparkleWithSam I am making these as gifts so I don’t really want to have those raw edges.
      What I did was use my 1/4 inch wonder tape and folded the ends up so I didn’t have any raw seams another tutorial actually after the first flip she sewed 1/8 of an inch seam just to prevent it from fraying
      Your tutorial was much easier to follow and now my neighbor wants to teach, Actually, my neighbor wants me to teach her how to do this. I’m going to make the pockets a little bit bigger than 2 1/2. I’m guessing you were doing this for credit cards?
      Oh yes topstitching all the way around would be a better idea lol because then you don’t have the excess thickness of folding the fabric up. And I have a Juki TL 18 so it can do it. Thank you so much for that idea I was topstitching the flap, but not the sides.
      I’m making them long enough or wide enough I should say to fit a cell phone because believe it or not the kitchen staff at my mothers care home they all have either iPhones or the Samsung phones

    • @dcwatashi
      @dcwatashi 6 місяців тому

      So it is me again. Now I want to make one that has three pockets so I’ve studied your tutorial and a few others and it looks like the first two lines equal one pocket the next two lines equal the second pocket so I am guessing that I would need to draw 2 more lines a quarter of an inch smaller than the 3rd and 4th line
      So ie:
      2.5 2.5
      2.25 2.25
      2.0 2.0
      But I would probably start off at 3 inches , then 2.75 and the last two lines would be 2.5 inches
      Sort of working this out as I am typing this 😂😂🙃🤪
      Now I have to figure out how much longer I need for the fabric
