No matter what happens and no matter what people say or do, Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder will always be the greatest Superman & Lois Lane duo of all time.
I bet the original Lois Lane (Noel Neill) wished she got to do flying sequences with George Reeves (as Superman) back in thier day😄..fun fact: Noel Neill did a cameo in Superman...she played the little girl's ( young Lois) mom on the train when young Clark was racing the train.
Christopher reeve and margot kidder still are and always will be the best lois and superman duo who are still flying in heaven every night and visiting superman's fortress of solitude. Lois and superman forever and christopher and margot always and forever.

@Davemillet4160 Yesss!! It's a beautiful score!!! I urge you to listen to it as they play this song and the Superman theme as the credits are rolling. 1st the Superman theme plays ( sounding majestic of course) . Then the song that Lois and Superman are flying to in this scene is played. (Incidentally, the name of thus song is called " Can You Read My Mind". It was originally performed by Maureen McGovern. ) This song plays after the Superman theme in the closing credits as the credits are rolling. It sounds beautiful and it ends on such a peaceful note. To add to it at the very end as this song is coming to a close , after the last credit is shown, there was the promise that Superman 2 was coming soon!
John Willams with this movie is like a magician really pulling rabbits out of his hat! All the music made me really feel a man can indeed fly! So can I! Only when I dream at night🙂
What sets this scene soaring (past the excellent performances and Christopher Reeve’s uncanny talent for pantomiming how a man would actually fly) is John Williams’ reiterations of the Love Theme.
Out of all the Superman played by different actors and Henry Cavil was damn good, Christopher Reeves was the only actor that made me believe he was Superman!
I remember watching this, film and there always a part of the film that stood out for me and it stuck with me right up to this day, it was just before the credits roll, he was flying above earth, he looked straight at the camera winked , smiled before moving off, I always thought he doing it to no one else but me, never forgot it
Wow, never quite realized... It's ALL in Margot Kidder's eyes. The look of sheer amazement, trembling fear, wonder, to elation and adoration. That is the "special effect" that makes this more than the latest VFX which reads as dull today. New appreciation for an almost 50 year old clip of cinema gold
Just a perfectly romantic flying scene, I especially love John Williams music....and Christopher Reeve will always be the BEST Superman....no one else will ever replace him even though they tried and failed (only my opinion)...Rest In Peace Christopher 💜and Margot : )
There is a lot of (rightful) praise of Williams big, bold hero cues for this film... but his astute perception of the emotions of a scene, and how to augment them, are on full display here. The score alone (beginning just after 0:05), even without the images, takes us through the steps of slowly reaching out to someone else, finding that they want to reach back to you, and experiencing the great joy which comes from that. He was a painter of emotion in this film.
When perfection of magic meets all ends together... Superman is more than just a hero... Lois is love described by this magnificent movie of cinema... Yes... 1978 was special after all...
Beautiful flying scene, amazing soundtrack. This scene is just pure magic it takes us all back to the essence and beautiful times of our childhood. Christopher Reeves is the best superman then, now and forever.
Unlike the movies of today the original Superman had heart, gripping story and amazing cast who acted to the best of their abilities. In decades to come it will be both remembered and loved.
@@theunknowncommenter725 Wrong. You can be open-minded but don't exaggerate. The first big screen Superman was the best by far, the last isn't even worth carrying the title.
Margot Kidder and Christopher Reeve will be the greatest relationship in a superhero movie and that is admirable! I mean, the movie took out 7 whole minutes of possible action, angst, or drama and inserted a beautiful and playful flying scene to not only grow Clark and Lois’ relationship, but to add to the level of sweetness and charm that few movies have nowadays. How did they film this - the end scene. He steps back and flies off… and goes to her room and there is Clark… no cut. It's not a green screen. Watched (or read somewhere, I can't remember) that they projected a recording of a costumed Chris from behind a screen. All to make a seamless cut and to give the illusion that he changed clothes super fast. EDIT: I think it was from a UA-cam channel called CorridorCrew. In other words, the official book claimed they did it for real. But it's obviously a rear-projection
