    Love that sound on “You Know You’re Right.” I heard that supposedly a Boss HM-3 Hyper Metal was used on the recording as Kurt didn’t bring any of his equipment and that pedal was what Earnie Bailey had.

    Wow great! Those are just the mods I wanted to do to my Bullet mustang. Do you have a link for the bridge and pickguard? You also had to drill new holes for the pickguard right?

    Awesome tone man. Especially Drain You reminds me of the BBC sessions which is probably my favorite version of the song. I think I'll probably also do this with my Squier Mustang. How do I go about routing the body?

    I love how all of us Nirvana nerds play Lithium as accurately as possible. I never see people play the power chord with 2 fingers, never hear that high note backstroke when plucking the power chords, never hear the start of the song with an e minor chord, any of that.

    Is there a forum post where you explained or learned about how to install the bridge without drilling the spring cavity? I have a spare mustang bridge but don't understand how you attached the cigar to the bridge or body without the included posts. Or did you use other screws? Thanks.

    I'm planning on adding a tremolo to my sonic mustang, how did you attach the cigar tube to the tail plate without routing the body/drilling holes for the posts? did you cut the posts?

    awesome mod! i'm looking forward to do this to my own mustang bullet but I have one question, how does it fit the 'cigar' on the body if you only drilled the screw holes??

      The springs were removed, and the cigar tube posts are going straight down into holes I drilled for them

    Would routing out the spots for the springs in the trem pose any issue or risks?

      The body is very thin, so be careful not to route too deep. I'm sure it's possible, I think I've seen someone else do it before. I decided to just take out the springs. I prefer locked trems and flipped cigar tubes on Mustangs.

    I need to finish my mustang lol.
    Mine has been an unfinished project since 2017..
    I ended up waiting for the right deals and eventually got a half painted squier VM Mustang body (no wiring) and squier jaguar neck that had cracked finish all for almost pocket money.
    I dread the refinishing process so it just sits :(

    Is the surf green that close to sonic blue or is it just a lighting thing? I want to buy a Squier Mustang to modify for my Nirvana tribute band, but I'm torn between hunting down a Surf Green Bullet 'Stang or trading in for a Squier Sonic Mustang in California Blue.

    How exactly did you put on the bridge/trem? I hear the bullet mustang body is too skinny for those which is why I hesitate putting one on mine

      he just drilled holes on it, didnt deal with the springs

    Cobain aside, I actually prefer the regular switch and bridge on my Bullet Stang. I owned a couple of mustangs, and I always hated the mustang bridges and switched.

      This was my first build ever and I was on a very strict budget, so I just used the cheapest trem unit available on Amazon.

      @@jq.guitars I saw that bullet mustang has 20 radius, but those trem unit ha 7 or 9.

      @robertobasp5767 Bullet mustang has a 12" radius, like the tune o matic bridge I put on it. The trem unit itself won't matter, just use a TOM

    How did you flip the tailpiece? I've been looking but I can't find anything showing it without the posts for the springs so I would have to drill holes into the body. Just hoping for some help if you can provide

      @@davisjpunk okay so you have to find screws with the same threads with a larger head and use those instead, you will have to drill a bit so they fit comfortably but it's better than going all the way through the body

      i’ve played these guitars many times before, and as far as i’m concerned there’s no neck dive. i’d probably upgrade the tuners though, just because they’re cheap squier tuners

      Body has to be routed to fit them, then put the switches in the pickguard and wire them up

    this is so stupid just to modify for the look. for NIRVANA tones youe dont will use the trem the neck pu and the selectror switch or the phase stuff totally bullshit. waste of money. good stuff for learning to set up but totally pointless, just put a jb or a superdist on the bridge maybe gotoh tuners and thats it. and ripping of kurts gear like crazy is one of the most anti Kurt thing you can do man. you need personality with your gear to. dont offens . i dream it own all the stuff you have but for the money you can spend much smarter to, kurt was a cheap as your gear is like glam metal bullshit collecting expensive stuff like crazy. dont offens im a subscriber, really like your channel and thx for posting that kind of stuff, really informative. and learn some info about Nirvana thx to your vids so keep it real, cheers.

      You may have missed the point, but it was to closely replace a $2000 Fender as cheaply as possible. This build was only $300 versus the $2000+ KC stangs are going for now. As for the phase switching and trem, those are vintage mustang specs, not just a Cobain thing. I own more unique gear than I do Cobain gear, but my content is specialized on Cobain stuff because of all the mystery that surrounds it.
