I love that this shows what sexual harrasment in the workplace can look like and why the victims don't come forward, but from a perspective some men can understand.
There are multiple sexual harassment scandals in Capitol Building, women and pages have and are assaulted by Senators & Representatives but this tends to be brushed under the carpet.
@@elftax Yes, but I'm not just talking about political. This is representative of any office setting and how a man can be abused there and be afraid to come forward
I thought it showed that sexual harassment can happen to men as well as women, as seen when Jonah discovers that the women who were victimized by Teddy all look like him.
I witnessed a similar thing back in the day at one of my first jobs. This older woman was FAR TOO FRIENDLY with one of my coworkers groins…who was a teenager like me. You could tell it legitimately messed with him. He didn’t joke about it like we joked about other stuff. This, of course, was back in the 90s when you were considered gay for complaining about such things.
Why is this sad subject so dam funny? It shouldnt, with all the locker room tomfoolery it can be shocking, but it sure brings a smile to my face. All the nicknames for Jonah made me shed a few tears.
Those little plastic bottles are so stupid 🤣 The whole hearing is hilarious. Laughed out loud all the way thorough. This awesome edit goes out with a refreshingly serious scene.
This is played for laughs for most of it, but the Teddy-Jonah dynamic, especially the talk Teddy gives in the beginning about Jonah not going through him before meeting Doyle, is not very far off from intra-administration power plays in the actual US government. Veep is probably one of the best modern representations of the US government, from the stubbornness and temper of the officials and aides to the trouble of most politicians being out of their depth when dealing with voters, even though everything in the show is played for laughs.
Locker room BS or no, the instant that hand went toward my groin, I would have dropped him, knowing full well how perilous that may be legally. Even if it wasn't sexual, its *intimidation*, pure and simple. I love the fact that the writers on this show declare very few things off limits, and Jonah is an easy target but I still winced a lot more than I laughed every time Teddy appeared in the frame - a truly odious creation.
Wonder what Teddy "did" in the bathroom with the sixteen year old selling coke? You know that would've put him over the top, make him go Kevin Spacey on the kid.
A climax to Hollywood films which started with child abuse ; where children / teenagers talked to police forces or teachers or attorneys or psychologists that daddy thouched them in their private parts. not everybody in the first place - what means the international audience - understanding what kind of language use / practice starts with "Amelia" the teenager...but now. we understand. a bit more. scary all that talk / chat movies with good 'looking' or rather nice dressed people in general..
they literally had an entire bit where selina's boob got groped by the husband of finland's prime minister before this and made several jokes about it and they've made several sexual harrassment aimed at women jokes one example is amy in season 5 episode 7 saying following the release of the top 50 hottest staffers male staffers/congressmen always try to look down her blouse
Everyone who makes these comments I assume has a fantasy of being a rapist or is one. LMAO did you even watch the show ? Selena got molested by the prime ministers husband. And it wasn't just a tap or cup he full on grabbed it and massaged it. So your creepy ass comment is invalid and stupid.
“A number of tall women were molested and Mr. Ryan was one of them.” 😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂
I love how genuinely disturbed and almost worried Dan seemed to be right when he figured it out. Great moment.
..."you were firing me?"
@@skygriffin1317 what the hell was that??
The details that made the show so dynamic.
@@skygriffin1317 and then proceeds to still fire him 🤣
Lmao right bro
Even Roger Furlong was disturbed... 😂😂
Hell even Dan was like wtf lmao
"Oh you guys are serious?" The look on his face. LMAO!!
The way Richard looks so little on the couch and then starts noticing they all look like Jonah. Too funny
Until Jonah said "Jesus fuckin christ, you all look like me" I was on the hook...That was such a perfect joke setup!
Lol I can’t with Dan taking away the bottle so Jonah has to answer😂😂😂
😂😂😂

@@canaisyoung3601 It shows that too.

I love how Dan gets worried about him.
"Well, we got nothing out of that but a funny story."
"I understand you've been twirling Jonah's balls like they're some kind of exotic stress reducer." 😂
and by up I mean all the way up
Dan's face when he sees whats happening is hilarious.
“I hate Kent. I’m gonna wipe that neutral expression off his face”
Lol. I can not.
I love Kent.
Dan’s reaction kills me every time
"...and that goes double for fondling Jonah!" Another classic...

The power of excellent writing.
Kinda interesting how even Roger was shocked about Teddy harassing Jonah that he flipped from joking to being semi serious
omg veep is so witty i love this show
To make such a disturbing subject so hilarious is Absofuckinglutely BRILLIANT! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
“Splett?”
“SpleTT.”
“Uh. SpleTT.”
That first joke still blows my mind...
Unimaginable filth!!!! 😂😂😂😂
"Just keep telling people you're chemically castrated. Literally no one checks."
Those little plastic bottles are so stupid 🤣

Yep..I really believe you're an insider. Excuse my eye rolling.
Well... that was already sort of obvious.
"No! My spheres were always clothed." LOL
Richard's face when Jonah is explaining his harassment. 😄
Ben’s I-need-a-shirt-this-isn’t-die-hard will always get me.
Furlong raises his hand lmao
"I am sorry ma'am, a number of tall women were molested and Mr. Ryan was one of them."
Jonah: Hey Katherine.
Katherine: hmm
Jonah: About earlier...the molesting.
Katherine: What?
Jonah: Hmmm?
Kathernine: Wait...what?
Jonah: Hey! Look, there's your mum.
Dead.
Jonah is the kind of guy to accidentally set set himself on fire and then get mad at you for trying to put him out 😆🤣😁
"Uhhhhh just processing that" 🤣
J&T's line is some of the deepest shit in Veep. Great cut.
This is the best explanation for men of how sexual harassment at work happens.
“Like an Xbox” nice save Richard
Richard sitting down at 8:09 is hilarious
In the previous season, the lady senator asked about the "Jonad Files" - that's why the ball jokes are so funny.
"Tap, ttttap, tap, tap"

probably the funniest arc in the entire series
Ok...
We got nothing out of that but a funny story.
“I was touched... who touched you??” Bahaha
"Tap t t tap tap tap"
Now you know why he's named PAT-TON Oswald.
Tap da da tap tap tap... Lmao
...and i'm here taking notes lol
Omg watch Leon’s moms reaction it’s perfect. Like any eavesdropper ever lmao.
Tap ti ti tap tap tap
Tap tatatap tap tap!
around the spheres
Tap ta-ta-ta-ta-tap!
11:56
Richard remaining lovable, regardless of context lol
Can't believe what Selina did.
Around the spheres…
No WHERE did this happen in the work place?
Or tea? 🤣🤣🤣
So good 😂😂😂
Ted makes it up to about Jonah's belly button and yet Jonah still manages to get intimidated. . .
Pretty sure Matt Gaetz is the actual manifestation of Jonah Ryan.
Teddy can't hurt you now.
Wonder what Teddy "did" in the bathroom with the sixteen year old selling coke? You know that would've put him over the top, make him go Kevin Spacey on the kid.
Funny you should mention him, since this show did air around the same time as the American Netflix version of House of Cards.
Funny shit till ol boy said, " jokes not a joke unless everyone can laugh at it". That was some tomfoolery.
I'm the a team lmao
6:47 LMAO!!
Oddly, no one believes this isn't actually Lawton Oswalt .... allegedly
Furlong at 7:10 lol

It's funny cause the show would've been canceled if it attempted to make the same joke but with a woman as the victim.
Probably not, they treated it as horrible as it is, and you can imagine another modern show could easily have the same message

go back to your mom's basement
selina literally got her boob grabbed by the finland prime minister in season 2 so i dont know what you’re talking about
