excellent review, loved the comparisons with the other different headsets too.

Had my hopes up... To me it is crazy that No manufacturer "checks all the boxes" when it comes to VR head sets. There seems to always be some compromise in the quality or desired characteristics. I suppose that may come down to price point thing and production economics. I have had really high hopes for VR and 3D experiences for decades now. Maybe things like the Quest 3 will ignite the passion for better experiences from a larger audience that will ultimately want a more enhanced experience. Who knows, maybe someday. Thanks for sharing.

Yea if they could mix the comfort of this with the display and lenses of the quest 3 it would be an absolute winner for me.

      Disappointment here too.
I'm not a VR guy, but as I watched the video, I thought I finally found a headset to try.
For me the problems are the lenses (sweet spot), which seem to be well below what is currently done (especially when we think of pimax) and the ipd setting.
I agree on this point, why not have this manual setting??!!
Concerning the sound... I will never understand that manufacturers want to integrate it into the headset, while the majority would prefer to use the headphones they already have.
All of these elements combined make the helmet cheaper, lighter and more efficient.

Can you make a comparison between this headset and the PSVR2, which is now PC compatible?

I am someone who has a psvr2 (and quest 3), I'm considering this simply for the weight. this is like half the weight of my psvr2 with globular cluster

Display port already makes it better then any stand alone . An not having stupid large speakers I need to remove so I can use my headphones .

Hey! Nice review! I also received a review unit but something is strange here ... I kinda see the edges of the screen like a blue frame around my viewport. Did you notice anything like that, too? I don't wear glasses or contacts. Wonder if my headset is faulty somehow.

Hello mate, No I didn't notice any blue frame but its possible something I missed. I'll need to break them out and have another look.

Biggest issue is fresnal lenses reverb g2 used them yeah it was great when you were in the sweet spot but it’s so small. I went to a q3 and no turning back. I wish q3 offered DP but the pancake lenses make up for it 1000000% the whole screen is the sweet spot.

I have a quest 3 which I wanted to use for DCS. But the visual clarity is absolutely below all standards. I tried a lot in the settings even with the openxr tool and the oculus debug tool. But whatever I try it looks bad in terms of clarity and especially when looking to other objects in the distance. In the distance objects look fuzzy and low resolution. At the moment I am done with the quest 3 and most likely will sell it and never buy a stand alone again. I will probably buy a pc VR headset. A display cable is always better then the link cable with the quest 3. The quest 3 is my first vr headset and I find it a waste of money when using it on a computer

@@gutierrezriveracaleb1038 Some people manage to get it looking quite good. I do not know how they did it. I managed to get it to work in DCS but got headages every time I used it. To keep the visualas good as possible I had to put it against my face quite hard. Think that is where the came from. To be fair, I do think if you want to use it purely for PCVR you are better of just buying a PCVR headset that works with a display cable. The quest can do stuff on the pc but you do notice the compression.

So far no other VR game has topped Half-Life:Aylx, for a PCVR. And looks like microsoft doesn't want to support the VR platform anymore.

Do not buy this VR headset!!!!! it is literally just a quest 2 without any of the standalone features FOR $600!!!! You can literally get a quest 3 and a nice head strap for that price!! You cannot just replace an IPD slider with software that’s just not how that works if your eyes don’t line up with the lenses, the image is going to look like garbage!!

    • @g-locmedia
      @g-locmedia  5 місяців тому

The ipd slider is an old way of doing it. Yea it's like a quest 2.5 kinda.

@@g-locmedia no like a VR headset kind of needs a IPD slider for it to work with the most amount of people. If I’m paying $600 for a VR headset. I would expect at least pancake lenses and individual displays. this headset is worth maybe $200 at best

@@g-locmedia there’s no way software can replace the physical movement of the lens. Explain to me how software will allow somebody with a 70 mm IPD use the same headset as someone with a 52 mm IPD without moving the lenses. It’s just not possible. That’s like claiming you can change the physical size of an iPhone screen using software.

Plus Meta Quest sold at a loss that's why the price is extremely cheap.
DPVR comes with decent enough strap, have display port connection and is lighter than Quest 2 which is pretty good deal
