I didn't think Yamamoto could get better than Footsteps of Doom and Night of the End, but he proved me wrong brutally with this one. Yamamoto and Sawano are the legends that AoT deserves!!
Yeah they are both truly legends. This is by far the best ost from Kohta Yamamoto imo

Ladies and gentlemen, Eren Yeager. One of the best-written characters in fiction, a truly haunting representation of the quote "He who fights monsters should be careful he himself doesn't become a monster."

why is no one talking about 2:28? It’s sending chills down my spine, these screeching violins and slow drums that sound like a marching titan along with apocalyptic view of incinerated, trampled flat area that just 10 minutes ago was a city street full of panicking, already doomed for a horrible death people.
Violins is what really sell this whole thing. they sound hellish, I can’t imagine anything but raging flames while listening to this.
I literally love how well violins portray emotions in aot soundstracks. Like the theme that plays when the female titan is chasing down Eren is terrifying because of the violins

4:50 the violin or whatever string instrument this is gives me chills and I love it

Masterfull playing of the cello. They’re always on point. They played cello in Guilty Hero too. It’s amazing to me.
This soundtrack combined with the absolute apocalypse displayed on the screen drived me crazy, so fucking haunting

I’d argue it’s not even the worst way to die in this show. I bet getting devoured is still the most terrifying and excruciating death experience.
@@woodchayn I can still to this day hear Miche Zacharius’ screams as he is going to be devoured by the titans the beast was controlling. Rather be stomped really.
@@vinniefabian6816 he still had to see his brothers head crushed in right in front of him, while holding onto the money he felt he needed to bring with him because his brother lsot his hand for it and has been beaten up many times.

Yamamoto is really a great composer, the minor second horn bits at 2:07 really sell the fucked up nature of the scene for me, im glad they went that direction for the soundtrack rather than the “sad” feel a lot of fans wanted for the scene

I agree he really understands composition and such. But his melodies are sadly nowhere near as good as Hiroyuki Sawano's melodies.
@@Zejoant hard disagree, sawano wouldnt work for the majority of the scenes in the final season because he usually goes for more bombastic or fantastical compositions, instead of subdued, cinematic and atmospheric ones.

This beginning really set the tone for the episode.
Ashes on Fire, this, Footsteps of Doom and the list goes on! Yamamoto did some amazing job and was a great choice for S4's apocalyptic theme
2:06 this part is absolutly terrifying, we could almost hear through it the footsteps of the titans heavily crushing the ground and everything that is there, men, women, children, animals, without the slightest thought or state of mind.The scene of Ramzi death will always haunt me.
Like i watched the Special now like 20 times and searched for this theme - now that i found it i still get an emotional breakdown while listening because i get literall flashs before my eyes from the scene while this plays

The fact that eren felt like he had no choice but to begin the rumbling is insane, he was so disappointed to see how the rest of the world saw his people and him that he wanted revenge, all that hatred and anger from the rest of the world is what led him to begin this…
Part 4 will start with rambling too and they're more brutal
