I'd say they should add AP Arabic/Hindi since they're really popular languages. Or different levels for AP Bio/Chem/Environmental Science. They already have AP Physics 1,2,and C, and AP Calc AB/BC, as well as AP PreCalc, they can also add AP Bio/Chem/ES 1 and AP Bio/Chem/ES 2. And since they have PreCalc already, I feel like they might add more "pre" AP classes. What I'm expecting is AP PreStats, PreBio, PreChem, PreES, etc

AP Bio, Chem, and ES all mimic intro classes in college, any lower is just a harder high school class. The problem arises with the fact that PreCalc is more a high school course than a college course. Just take AP Calc AB or BC and you will not have to worry.
For my school, most students take alg 2 Freshman year. Next year they will take AP Precalc and then go into IB Math (AA or AI). Those who take IB AA HL take the AP Calc BC test at the end of their junior year
Ap precalc will help you prepare for ap calc ab or bc in terms of workload. I don't know about other schools, but at my school even after the exam we're still working and there's a pre-unit for calc bc. It's a nice gpa boost as well
In many cases, when that happens, there are ways to take the next course anyway, you can take it independent study. You can often take it at a nearby high school if that’s available but in any case, I would contact the college board and they can give you options sometimes you can get someone from a community college to help you with it, etc. I know didn’t serve even gone through homeschool for some courses and taking it that way and that goes for any number of AP courses including calculus, especially if there is if the AP course that they were interested in was not offered at their school.

I've been taking AP Precalc this year, and I think that the material itself is mostly fine? Yeah some things don't fit in my head well, but those are manageable. I guess the hardest part of the course is polar functions? I guess? The material CAN smack you hard if you hadn't taken an Algebra II class or learned some equivalent. At my school, some kids are attempting jumping into AP Precalc without even fully learning what sine is. They're screwed. I think it'll depend on the teacher. I have the AP test in three days, wish me luck.

dude I just took the 1st AP Precalc AP exam (I am a freshman) and it was actually SO LIGHT. The only reason I took it, was cause they let me skip algebra 2 cause it was a combined course.
I’m not going to be able to do as many AP classes because the program I’m in gives me the opportunity to go up to Calc 2 in HS and they don’t do AP level courses. I think it’s dumb chasing a gpa like that, I firmly believe having good grades is necessary, but it’s more important what you do outside of school

My school does not offer AP pre-calculus or other common AP classes such as physics c, human geography, and European history.

Precalc is not an AP Level Course because Precalc is not a college level course. (Instead of lowering our standards, we should raise them to be at least somewhat on par with international standards, Algebra II or just Algebra I + another math is not enough, honestly it should Alg II + another math like stats or precalc or a computer science class)
Its a new course, and most AP teachers pull resources from other teachers online, like in AP World you can find your LEQ prompts by google search. However, since there is no resources since the classes are so new, teachers are having to make everything by themselves.

That sounds awful. There's so much bs you don't learn in precalc that you learn for the first time in AB that just can't be crammed in with BC. BC should be an entirely separate course for a reason. You shouldn't be learning integrals for the first time at the same time you're learning trig sub or DE at the same time you're learning logistic growth. If I were you I'd petition you're school bc there's almost no way for most average students to be able to learn all of that in a year.
I disagree with the existence of Ap pre calc. Very few colleges actually accept it for a math credit. Even more important is that it only has 3 units that are tested. This is a full year class by the way. I think the college board should’ve made Ap Trig or Ap linear Algebra first.

essentially, it's classes that are offered at some schools that are college level courses. the classes are made by a company called college board (who are awful for a lot of reasons) at the end of the year you take an AP test which is graded on a scale of 1-5. a score of 3 or higher is passing and most colleges will offer college credit if you pass the exam. it's mostly an American thing, so that might be why you haven't heard of it
I think you should take AP Precalc the year prior, it puts you on the same level. BC pre calc isnt an easy class, so if you don’t do well in pre calc id say take AB Calc
Or if you are really good at math, you can be like me and self study it over the summer, which ended up me starting to actually study a week before the pretest. I passed it tho :)

In general, if you get a 4 or 5 on the AP test, AP is better. If you get a 3, AP is likely better. If you get a 1 or 2, DE is better.
