Great DIY on a Recirculating Livewell!!
Great info, I'll have to try this. Awesome tan lol glad you got one lmao, we're having a snow storm right now
Awesome video man I will have to try building one
Velcrow on the box for the battery
Good vid, looks like I need to do some work on my bait bucket.
Cool! Good video bro!
Nice👍🎣🎣🎣
Can't wait to hit the salt this year!!!
Like the video bro! Keep it up.
“This is the best. I don’t know what he did or why he did this and I need to fix it but it’s the best.”
In that setup you would be better off with an aerator system, because the bolts you have on the bottom inside will kill your baits quickly moving around inside of that bucket!
Rock salt and ice with bubbler is the easiest way to keep Shad, about a hand full per five gallons
how long does the battery last?
Good idea
The Attwood T500 Tsunami isn't a bilge. It's a live well pump. It's rated at 500 gph outflow.
But that's the problem it's a bargain live well pump. Maybe $30-$40 max although they claim it's made well.
Think of it like this. 500 gph is less than 9 gallons a minute, or roughly 1/10th of a gallon a second. Doesn't matter much what you do its not going to create a decent current in a bucket or a livewell. You could narrow the output, I still don't think it's gonna give you the results you're looking for on a 5 gallon bucket. It will keep them alive, better than just an air stone would but not by that much since it takes almost a minute to move all 5 gallons from the bottom of the bucket to the top as it all passes through the pump, which is a long time if you think about it.
A Tsunami T1200 would 2-1/2 times your current flow, and not crazy expensive either and probably get you where you want to be with it.
Couple ideas:
Another thing you can do is gator clip the terminal wires then use a long 12v lighter plug so you don't gotta run the battery to and from fishing and can run off the car battery on the alternator.
Can also get a cheap 110-12vdc converter plug from grainger or somewhere else so you can run it off a socket and keep bait overnight for the next day.
I modified the nozzle and it seemed to have some current flowing. I'll have to test it out next time I use live bait.
Also I just remembered that when I used the t500 on my last kayak live well, which I believe was bigger, the pilchards I caught were really healthy all day. So the water pump definetly does a really good job.
Anyone who owns aquariums would know this system is no more or less effective than an airstone. You are simply circulating the same oxygen depleted water at a higher rate which may actually stress the fish inside.
nice tan line! mine is worse lol😂😂😂😂
you dont need a 12 volt a 6 will do fine
Must be a saleman.
This was terrible 😂
