- Arizona small business owners are now required to file more information with the federal government, courtesy of the Corporate Transparency Act. Many business owners operate under LLCs for a multitude of reasons. Some owners leave their personal identities out of their companies to limit the risks and liabilities, while others simply prefer the privacy that LLCs offer. The Corporate Transparency Act, which went into effect earlier this year, now requires the owners of these entities to report basic ownership information to the federal government.

Does this include an Air BnB host? It should….and they should be taxed as an hotel with a bed tax for each person staying……. Az is losing tax money due to Air BnB……hotels and other services such as restaurants are losing to Air BnB. Make the hosts just as accountable as the businesses are. No accountability for the air BnB hosts. To the tax base of our state and the neighborhoods they disrupt and the houses they keep actual families from being able to live in long term…either from renting or buying. Air BnB Is killing the American dream of home ownership and are not held accountable either…more importantly they do not hold hosts responsible. Disgusting business that should be controlled more or forc3d to pay what communities as a whole lose while hosts are absent and are not held accountable. Tax em!

I know many businesses that refuse to identify who the actual ownership is because they're afraid of lawsuits. I didn't know who my landlord was for months and the place I'd leave my check with every month wouldn't tell me, they'd say the maintenance man was the landlord to protect the actual owners who are wealthy heirs. I had to find out through the secretary of state and researching where the tax payments were coming from.
