Apologies for the lack of uploads over the last week or so, I was away in Italy - video coming soon! Anyway, hope you enjoy this video of Matt’s 300bhp straight-piped Mini JCW!
As a F56 JCW owner myself this isn’t straight piped. It’s got no backbox but it definitely has the cat and the resonator still in! If it was a de res it would be popping and banging all day long 😂
Just what I was thinking
I've got a straight piped F56, and you're right, this is not where near straight piped.
Mine even shoots flames with the JCW Pro exhaust and de-cat...
What’s the best exhaust setup in your eyes? Remus, Scorpion, Mini Pro? AC Schnitzer?
@@benrutherford5544 jcw pro is great but very costly
Must admit the build quality is exquisite 👌👌
They’re awesome little cars!
Just bought this exact car in black! Absolutely love it. 👌
Yay! I really enjoy these types of videos! Keep it up! 😁💫
Thanks buddy!
Hi all
Great to see this. I am about to remap 1 my JCW 2026 Manual. I am expecting the same performance as this feature, but must admit I am worried of killing my engine. I was told I won’t need to install or change anything as my car can handle the remap 1.
Any advice appreciated
Oh, those red grille inserts at the bottom look quite nice, I must say. I'll add this to mine. Kinda dumb to take the sunroof though.
OH THE LEG SLAPS!!!
You should have had a test drive at least. Good video. I have one in manual with the Pro exhaust and similar spec list and it's awesome fun. I'm about to get an evolve remap to 290bhp and 360ftlb. Can't wait. Big tip for the owner is get a set of Michelin PS4 tyres in 215 40 18. Will make a huge difference to comfort and grip. And I always run my car in the soft suspension mode for compliance. Thanks for sharing.
We put some PS4s on ours, a little run around it’s transformed the car though we went 205, the 10mm different wasn’t a worth the extra cost.
Hi
Please name the artist and song played from 1:19 - 1:40
No pops and bangs like others have said my Cooper S F56 with just a resonator delete pops more mine also pops sometimes Mid mode now after fitting the Forge hard pipe and airbox a 2015 S.
Click like every time you hear the coins jingle when that guys slaps his thigh every time he speaks.....
I own both these cars and the JCW is a more enjoyable drive plus I prefer the gear changes in the JCW over the R as it feels more responsive IMO
It's because the 6 speed automatic in the Mini is a single clutch and has more feel while changing gears when you compare it to a R that has a double clutch gearbox
Must be a mistake about the exhaust. I run a decat F56 Cooper S with the normal jcw catback exhaust and it's much louder than this one :/
Christian Smorag I agree, I ran a miltek decat with the pro exhaust so when valves open that is a straight through, way louder than this
He should put the Union Jack taillights in. They’re like 300 pounds off of Alibaba.
Genuine ones from German suppliers don’t cost 300£ 😉
@@robo6548 :o even better!
Why?
@@jixuscrixus1967 Personal preference, I think it goes really well with the LCI model.
@@petervanzadegem3047 maybe it’s an English/Unionist thing. I don’t remember any such paraphernalia on the original mini.
Hi
I have a JCW 2016 Manual. I am so happy to see this video as I am contemplating a stage 1 remap. I have been told by a reputable garage I will get the same as your car and no need for any additional upgrades( filter, coolers etc)
I guess I am still worried I will kill the engine. Is there anything I need to be prepared for?
Did you get a stage 1?
@@ronniepickering2335 hi Ronnie I did. Not sure the actual BHP and torque, but it is so much more responsive.
Hi, can I ask how has the car run since? Had any issues with it? Thanks
@@epicell1711 runs smoothly with no issues.
Wouldn’t be without it
Wallop first for the first time.. great vid luke
Thanks Chris!
@@hampshirephoto no prob mate great vid. I'm just not sure if I missed the draggy time or if u never did it
who mapped stage 1?
Hi there. Can you please tell me who did the remap? The transmission was remap too? Best Regards.
TheBnelo hello, local independent company, transmission isn’t remapped i looked into it but can’t find much info on remapped f56 JCW’s let alone the auto model. I’m fairly certain though that given this is only the six speed torque converter there isn’t a map ability? personally though it’s only possible on the newer 8 speed DCT autos, i may be incorrect there and if you find out otherwise please let me know as that’s something i’d love to do! that said gearbox handles the extra load absolutely fine, smooth linear power delivery.
cheers
@@mattdoughty8477 Hi Matt. First of all Thank You Very Much for your reply. I heard that there are those who do it in Lisbon or Porto, Portugal.
I will ask the seller of the Mini. I want a remap to the 8 speed auto transmission, even though the gearbox is excellent! Best Regards and have a great Christmas! ;o)
Was this on the standard run flats? If so how did they fair putting the power down?
Matthew Pugh took it off run flats mainly due to road noise and firmness. To be honest it does feel like a different car to drive, in terms of putting power down it handled it well on both but with regards to cornering the grip and ride quality is not a lot better
@@mattdoughty8477 I see you went Dunlops. Try the Michelin PS4. you'll be pleasantly surprised by the extra grip.
I like the wheels
Where are your tyre stickers gone from the R?
Well spotted! More news soon
Aaaaaaand when are you gonna APR map it. Did my 7.5 gti and unreal.
🤩😋👀
if that guy slaps his leg one more time lol
Honestly I couldn’t concentrate on anything else doing my head in !!
Are the John Cooper farts loud? I've never asked him :D
My fiesta ST is more than likely going to get replaced by one of these (has to have the seats and either or of the H&K or JCW PRO exhaust) or a Clubman Cooper S with a high spec 😂
I’m doing the same thing next year 😂 it must have the sports seats, HUD and the H&K speakers. I’ll buy the exhaust separately if needs be.
In the new Mini JCW Four wheel drive 2.0 turbo in this car is perfect id imagine a lot off fun but as a 2019 BMW m140i owner in the new m135i it's just not up there.
Man them new mini 300bhp ones are bigggggggg ££££££ but could be a great investment in future
@@chriscringle9263 agreed 38k for a Mini I presume thats with all the toys.
Saying that spec up the new BMW m135i to a good standard it'll come in at 42k....same engine etc just different body, almost makes sense when compared
@@markrhoden68 I know mate it's just crazy. My dad was an engineer for ford motor company for over 30 years till he retired. I remember getting my first fast car lol it was brand new W reg ford fiesta zetec s in ford racing blue loved it. Retail was £11k or there about. With discounts etc I paid £8k. And that was brand new and I got a tank of petrol lol. To think kids like I was then getting the equivalent all be it a lot quicker now!!!! A fiesta ST is I think £24k.... crazy
Luke u seen the new one with 306bhp think it's limited run of 1500 units.... Nearly 38k 🦄🦄🦄🦄
3000 units 👍
@@rare6499 ah good shout mate.. they should do it for 19k seeing as they are makeing double my figure!!! 😂😂
chris cringle 🤣 19 grand where do I sign. The GP1 was something like 24k when it released in 2006 and I remember everyone at the time saying how could a MINI be worth that. And those only had 2000 and each was numbered AND built by Bertone!
Seems quiet considering its straight piped!
My thoughts too, sounds like it still has a cat and centre silencer.
It won't be straight piped it will have a resonator delete this kid chats shit and should stick to taking photos of stuff
Swear ive just found this exact car on auto trader
Is that your younger Brother!
Peter benn pan i’m not his brother! and believe it or not i’m actually 4 years older!
@@mattdoughty8477 who did the Stage 1 for you? I'm looking to get mine done in the New Year and was stuck between Loehen and Evolve. Your input would be appreciated.
Richie Hello, It was actually a local independent company i used, i did loads of research into them before hand and the reviews were fantastic, came with a mechanical warranty too. With regards to Lohen and Evolve it’s entirely down to you. I looked into both and Evolve seem to delve mostly into the manual models where as it appears that Lohen have a broader market so would potentially sway towards them, dependant on your transmission type. Either way i can’t recommend it enough, the cars are a hoot to drive at standard out out but trust me once you’ve had it tuned you’ll wonder why they don’t just produce them like it from factory! Mines been tuned just shy of two years now and it still to this day genuinely surprises me and my passengers with how quick it is!
@@mattdoughty8477 many thanks for the reply, much appreciated. Mine is actually a manual and I am thinking more along the lines of Evolve and doing it myself at home, although the engine warranty you got gives some peace of mind. The Stage 1 certainly gives it a nice boost judging by yours, a little bit more research and I'll get my hand in my pocket. Cheers
The Proclaimers! I would drive 500 miles....
"My Golf R" are more the "big guns*... 🤔 Isn't your golf a budget audi? Golf R is little league compared to RS3 & A45.
Ha ha
The F56 is good but the front overhang still bothers me. Design wise it isn’t as perfect as the R53/6 were, but they are still fun and you can get some good power out of them.
That's why my Mini has the Kw Clubsport upgrade. It's on rails tbh. Stock is just the "perfect" combination between sport and comfort
...if it was awd, maybe.
Is the first guy wearing those fake glasses and big nose u get from a joke shop ? 😁
Head to head videos were much better
To answer your title, no sir. That would be the GTI or R.
This is quicker than the GTI
