Greens juice is called pot liquor. Lol. I'm a license caterer, owner of a soul food truck... I'm from the deep south, born and raised. I've never seen anybody here add onions in their greens at least my family we don't. For seasons we just add minced garlic, onion power, salt, crush red pepper to taste and of course the smoked meat turkey, pork ;salt pork or ham skins). I personally love turkey tails boil it until the meat falls off the bone. Even so, my favorite greens are mustard and add one or 2 bunches of turnip just to add more flavor. I love your videos I've been a subbie for years. Keep it coming sistah!!😍
You are a God-send!!! I remember cleaning greens with my dad and siblings when I was little and my dad cooking them. When he found out about Glory greens, that’s all we have been eating for years. I always said I wanted to actually learn how to make my own so I decided to go to your page because I’ve tried a few of your recipes. The greens turned out bomb! Thanks to you, that’s the only way I’ll be eating them now!
Made my first pot of collard greens. Smoked pork has been my go to. Not anymore. These greens with the smoked turkey leg, simply delicious. They came out better than I expected ( being my first attempt at collards). I think these were the best collards I've had. Love your energy. Keep doing you Diva!
I made these yesterday for our new year dinner. I didn’t want to be “boring” using water as I was taught to do so I followed the recipe to the T.. today I asked my man to rate the greens and he said “10, the best greens ever” 😌 I’m def keeping this recipe and making it mine 🎈
So I have made this recipe 3x and every time it’s delicious! My family and friends love it❤️❤️ thanks for the video! The older video you had on greens was too complicated for me but this is just a dream ☺️
Monique, I never had collards before, but yesterday a farmer friend gave me 4 nice bunches for me to try. Naturally who do I go to to find out how best to cook them? YOU GURL!!!! I just finished them an hour ago and O-M-G!!!! They are the BEST green vegetables I ever, ever had!!! I confess, I did add a few more spices like a dash of curry, cumin & rosemary & a little bit of pure tomato juice. Thank you so very much for your videos & instructions. You deserve to be on FOOD NETWORK!!
They were the bomb girl! My daughter was so happy! Also I tried the blueberry crumb pie and "HEAVEN!" My husband is in love with your sweet potato pie I've been making for 3 years now! Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing all your wonderful secrets! Love ya ❤ ~Monica

I seen the preview of this on your website and I was like wait a minute this isnt the original video you made for Southern Collard greens. Ive been using your recipes for a long time before you blew up! Videos look professional now! I hope you kept those originals so you can look back and see how far youve come since then❤ Need that cookbook tho💯👌 cant wait til it comes out!
I always use chicken broth, never water, and the best chicken broth that you can buy is Organic Bone Broth Chicken. They have beef and vegetable as well. (Sam's Choice) You get it from Walmart. So...…….good...….
Your commentary cracks me up, I love it 😆. I actually got inspired watching this video and the one you did with turnip greens and I’m making a pot of collard greens right now. I’m so excited. I can’t wait to get the cornbread going.
Just tried this recipe out and it was awesome! I'm on a cut right now so this is a perfect low kcal dinner, with the ingredients i used (used 500 g of smoked turkey slices that I cut up) the whole meal comes to a total of 789 kcal of which 41,4 carbs 116,4 protein and just 19,2 grams of fat and that's for the whole recipe, I only had half but it was more than enough! Btw I saw your video about weight loss and counting calories it was a couple of years old but nowadays with myfitnesspal and apps of the sorts counting calories is actually pretty easy and I'll definitely be using more of your recipes during my prep!
Wish we could've met your grandma Barb because the way you throw down I know she had to be out of this world! I had a grandma Barbara too, an amazing cook and person.... so today I am making your greens but in a pressure cooker! Let's start praying now! Lol! I hope it turns out flavorful.
