    Their live shows are insane too- everyone in costumes, confetti cannons, dancing. People are dressed in the most fun and elaborate costumes imaginable, this video is only a hint at what you’ll see live

    Kevin knows how to make happy/danceable music with lyrics full of anxiety & sadness.
    "Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer?" has been playing nonstop through my iPod since it came out. It always makes me feel a bit good when I'm in a crisis & my mood don't want to be a friend.

    The lyrics are freaking amazing for those of us with messed up moods. My own inner cosmology has become too dense to nagivate is some poetry. Loved this song when i first heard it a decade ago and it still speaks to me up to now.

    first heard of montreal while on a train ride in europe. someone had them blaring through headphones so their friends could all hear. the song was a shin's cover, "know your onion!," which i recognized and then inquired as to who the band was. special moment for me that no one probably cares about, but if someone has that shins cover i'd really like to know.
