Fish sauce should be poured on the rice and mix it up. Leave some to dip. You will feel wonderfully different than not mixing fish sauce with the rice. It’s like a link that connect every items on the dish. It makes the dish become a symphony of taste. And it is the way the locals eat.
Thanks for the tips! We will definitely do that next time 😇
CƠM TÂM HAS MANY VARIOUS PRICES EVERY PLACE ....FROM THE POOR PEOPLE TO RICH ONE CAN BUY IT AND ENJOY...THE SECOND STORE IS FAMOUS SO ITS PRICE IS ALSO DIFERENT ....BUT ALL THEY ARE OK...IT 'S A POPULAR DISH IN VIETNAM .
when you eat. You should combine it with Vietnamese dipping sauce. This combination will taste better. Wishing you both a happy and fun trip to Vietnam
Great idea!! Thanks for the tip!
Just came across your vlog while randomly searching for vietnam, must say your video quality and content is really good
Glad you enjoy it!
I really enjoyed your videos in Vietnam. Thanks for sharing. Can't wait to see more.. I would choose the $1 ComTam..lol. They are both good, just the quantity different.
Glad you like them! Haha, we actually enjoyed also both! It's more the case that the Michelin one is more like a festive dish 🤗
Cơm tấm cần sự kết hợp với nước mắm, muốn ngon hơn bạn phải rưới thêm nước mắm lên cơm
Our bad! We thought it serves as a side sauce! Thanks for this advice!
@@JayandKarolinanext time put some fish sauce to your taste for more flavorful.
The block that you were having in 4:58 is usually made of egg, glass noodle, wood ear mushroom and minced pork.
🤭 We've googled it afterwards so we knew for the second Com Tam what that Meatloaf is made out of! Thanks!!!
Vietnamese dishes must have dipping sauce included. You should dip it, otherwise it will be very bland.
You're right! The fish sauce was given on side but we didn't want to pour any of the other sauces to really detect the tastes right 🤗
@@JayandKarolina Fish sauce does not take away the flavor of the dish, but makes the dish even more flavorful
That looks delicious😊😊❤
That's great bro keep the Vietnam content coming!
More to come! Thanks 😍
You're actually supposed to pour the sweet fish sauce over your Com Tam.
Oh, really? We thought that you can use it as a side sauce 😅 Do all the people do that??? Let us know!
@@JayandKarolina Yep, everyone pours the sauce over rice since that's how it should be eaten. The same thing goes for dishes like Bun Thit Nuong and Banh Cuon. You want to be very generous with the sauce (this is diluted and sweetened fish sauce, not straight-up fish sauce if you are worried about it being too salty).
yes u pour a little but not all of it it depends on preference and your taste
Hai bạn quá tuyệt vời chúc những ngày ở Việt Nam thật hạnh phúc vui vẻ nha ♥️
It melts our hearts! CẢM ƠN! 😍
We really enjoyed your video! But whenever you could, tip them a little. The waiters live on the tips. Keep on the great work.😂
Thank you! Will do next time for sure!
Not in Vietnam my friend, waiters live on the tips but in Vietnam they don't need that. If they say the food is $1 then you'll pay exactly $1, no need to pay extra for tax or tips.
@@dzikanlancer5694 In Vietnam, tipping in regular family-owned- restaurants is not required if you pay money directly to the owners. Service people who work there already have their salaries, but they got paid very little. So whenever' s possible, like the food is good, or they gave good services... some tips would be greatly appreciated. That's how I did when I was there. You just don't have to tip every time though.
Also in VN, when you go to an upscale restaurant or any fine dining restaurants , then tipping culture of at least 10- 15 % is just like tipping in the US.
Watching your video makes me crave broken rice and miss home so much. Wishing you both good health!
So good 😋 Com Tam was our favourite dish in the South 🇻🇳
Thank you for your share with us! And I think you guys really love the food and enjoy your meals at việt nam too! Have a good day day to your guys. Gods bless your guys too!!
Ciao Jay thanks so much for the video 😊
Ciao Kurolina you are amazing girl ❤❤❤
Nice
That choco shake at the end looks so unique!
Right! 😍🍫
It is a Vietnamese egg roll dish made from pork - eggs - mushrooms and sometimes vermicelli (a form of Vietnamese noodles )
We're enjoying watching your videos. We've liked both your chirpy natures and we've appreciated how you've used phrases of the language of which ever country you've been in. We hope you don't mind us asking a couple of questions that we will find useful for our future travels...........which type of credit/cash card do you use for getting cash from atms and which type of travel insurance do you use ? We look forward to your future videos.
Thank you so much! We try to show our true selves on the camera even if it's not always easy!
We really like Starling because it has the best exchange rates and support when you're on the go 🙌 And we both went for this long-term insurance for backpackers/travellers: www.truetraveller.com It covers all SE Asian countries and works out cheaper compared to other insurance companies!
Thank you so much for this information - so veryhelpful. We wish you joy on your continuing adventures and we'll certainly enjoy watching them. @@JayandKarolina
Great job bros ❤🎉😮
🥳🫡
You both should try a different version of Cơm Tấm called cơm tấm Long Xuyên (Long Xuyên city version of cơm tấm). One well known place of cơm tấm Long Xuyên in Saigon (Hochiminh City) is Cơm Tấm Cây Điệp at 58D Cao Thắng street, P.5, Q.3, HCM city or you can go to Long Xuyên Quán too. Hope you really enjoy your visit in Vietnam.
Sounds great ✌️ Thanks for the recommendation!
Looking forward to try that next week pls advice us where we can go ctrett food cheap and good. Tn
In Saigon you’ll find lots of amazing options wherever you go!
The less expensive the food is the better it is I noticed that in Vietnam. Also if it gets too hot and you need to escape from the heat head out to Da Lat
So true!
Đất nuoc Việt Nam xinh đẹp.an toàn va món ăn ngon
At the 1st Cơm Tấm Store If you continue go straight down that street cross to the bridge, turn left in the 1st corner you will see the God Pagoda (Chùa Ngọc Hoàng) that the place Mr Presidnet of USA Obama visited before. Or go straight down to final of that street (not turn left) you will see Bánh Cuốn Tây Hồ (Streamed rice roll) that is good restaurant that you could try 😊
In my opinion the best Com tam is Tuyết Cây Gỏ at district 6, HCM city;Im Vietnam
Need to check it out then 😎
@@JayandKarolina you search Com tam Tuyet Cay go from youtube, You'll see it😋
Thank you for sharing this video with us 😂😊❤nine 👍
Thanks for watching! Not to spoil, we love eating so it was just a pleasure to try both 😍
Cơm Tấm Nguyễn Văn Cừ (7-10$)
I'm sure you will like it

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
70 ngàn for 2 plates can’t beat that price!
Thank you! We’ve loving the foods 😍
I think you should go to Nha Trang and enjoy seafood there

The green vegetable is a pickled green mustard
Bạn ăn rồi nghiền đó,nghiền rồi khó cai lắm 😮định cư VN thôi.
Ok
I would absolutely go with one that was only one dollar US. Excellent all around
Both were super delicious and very fresh 😍❤️

Com Tam is a specialty dish in Vietnam.
Do you think Com Tam $5 or $1 is better?
The one you call meatloaf is ground pork, clear noodles, wooden mushrooms and eggs
👍👍👍
The meatloaf has pork, clear noodle aka bean thread, onion , ear wood mushrooms, eggs.
Sounds great!
She is Polish and he is English
$1 or $5 = Broken rice =very cheap in Saigon city Vietnam
$1 = 24,000 đồng, so the 1st com tâm was 75,000 Vietnamese đồng must equal around $3 or more for a dish of cơm tấm there.
2 dish=3usd ,1dish=1,5 usd
Exactly!
😋🥩
Ok....
She could share youtube on her name
Make more money since she tab along
Hahaha 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
🤪✌️
3 usd mate!
There is no michelin cơm tấm in Vietnam. Ba Ghiền was nominated only.
You should pour the fish sauce over the rice and toppings and eat them altogether . The taste will be much better .
Thanks for the tip! Next time!
Wtf....9usd. It is really expensive
Since you didn't pour fish sauce, you might as well pick the 1$ dish. You aren't getting the full taste of the dish anyway.
You're right - we won't make this mistake again!
Tôi xin chào hai bạn đã đến đất nước tôi chúc bạn vui vẻ
Here about $15 : Broken rice
Hello Can u try to visiting Philippines ❤🇵🇭 You first visit "bgc taguig" Philippines
We our planning to come to Philippines one day!
@@JayandKarolina filipino is waiting
I am Vietnamese. Everything on your plate of broken rice has no seasoning whatsoever. Fish sauce makes the dish more delicious. Vietnamese family meals often have fish sauce on the side for unseasoned dishes .
Good to know!
Rib rice is a Vietnamese dish with main ingredients from broken rice. Although there are many names in different regions.🥰
Do you think 5$ Michenlin Cơm Tấm is worth eating?
It’s pork chops
Thanks for sharing!! As we said in the video it was definitely worth its price! The ingredients were super fresh and the portion huge! We would definitely go back there next time once we’re in Saigon! 🤗
@@JayandKarolina I am very happy to enjoy it!❤
Both of you try Việt Nam seafoods
Is the best in the world
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
We will try some for sure but I’m not the biggest fan of seafood 😝
🤭🤭
Ko phải xúc xích lạt xưởng
While in Vietnam, you must try Thuốc lào 😃
My Friends
2 of you could hire Việt Nam Cookers
Open cơm tấm in your country
Both of you will be king
❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Remember only Việt Nam
Could Cook Great Cơm tấm &
Fish sauce
Maybe one day! Sounds great hahaha 🎉
We actually face it in most of the places haha I believe they don’t even think there might be people who aren’t aware how to eat particular dishes 🤪
Pork chops!not ribs
U should visit Hanoi which have best food in vn 😊
We’re going to Hanoi end of December 😍
I like Central VN food so I'd say HCM is perfect for the variety. Ha Noi... sorry but was disappointed by bun cha, bun thang, cha ca la vong, com rang... the only thing I am excited to try the next time I go back is those snails noodles
@@JayandKarolina that’s nice. U can try phở chiên phồng n phở cuốn at phở cuốn hưng bền. Chả cá lã vọng at vua chả cá. Phở thìn bờ hồ. Ngan cháy tỏi at 51 hàng lược, bún chả at bún chả trang béo an dương vương… if u want i can give u some good restaurant.
@@vivt6421oh my god i never heard same experiences like that before? Did u try all that food in good restaurants which local ppl go there? I think ur taste is so sweet that’s why u like middle food. I don’t like danang food. Bún in there so sweet like put sugar on it. I think u should watch right way how hanoian made original phở. In addition, vnese traditional food originally come from hanoi btw 😂🙄
@HienThuLorenxia central vn food is salty and spicy. Southern food is sweet. You have it mixed up. The only pho I liked in hanoi but forgot to mention is pho ga. Isn't bun cha also oddly sweet and savory? I'll give you pho, bun rieu, and banh chung, but banhmi, goi cuon are southern origin. Bun bo hue, mi quang, banh xeo (questionable) are central vn's.
Thiếu chốc rượu nhé ông anh
🤪✌️
I’ve had a diarrhea since the moment I landed here
Đồ ăn tươi ngon và an toàn.
Com tâm = broken rices
Meatloaf made by chicken eggs
Hey bro 5
Dollars Com Tam you shoud'nt post is over pricing
For the quality of it and the portion in our opinion it wasn't overpriced.
Supposed to pour some nuoc mam on the rice and chops bruh. Com Tam is a Muslim nightmare of a dish
🤔
Be careful with street foods Guys
