- Tonight for the first time, the six bands come together, as rehearsals begin for the most important gig of their lives. Can these former chart toppers rediscover their inner popstars - in tune, in step - and in time? With only two weeks of rehearsals and the stress of juggling their personal lives, the pressure is truly on - and the bands are feeling it. The bands are starting to realise that it's not just a matter of polishing up old harmonies and dusting off routines from the height of their fame. They have to be current and relevant, to find their place in this very different pop world where the demands are higher and the scrutiny far more rigid than it was back in their day.
For some, 'new' is great, an exciting challenge - an opportunity to turn up the performance levels and own the stage. For others it's exhausting and draining, a struggle to keep up with the pace.
One of the UK's top choreographers Paul Domaine and vocal coach extraordinaire Yvie Burnett are pushing them way beyond their limits as they all strive to achieve more than they could possibly have imaged in the little time available to prepare for the show.
And Five are rehearsing as a four-piece as they are still searching for a replacement for J.
With frayed nerves, unrequited love, rubber catsuits and back stage confessions there's as much going on around as well as in the pressure cooker atmosphere of the bootcamp.
Finally with only a handful of rehearsals under their belts, all the bands face their toughest critics -- the other bands - as they perform for each other in a unique and mesmerising rehearsal that is explosive, emotional and simply breathtakingly exciting.

So interesting that Liberty X, the band who formed themselves after 'failing' on PopStars, are the only band who still get along and don't hate each other/have mental health issues. Says a lot really.

Absolutely agree! Even Michelle, who has dealt with serious health and emotional issues, is such a strong girl and a lovely mother. The whole band are just overall lovely people with great attitudes. My favorite group from this show. :)
I never heard their Music since I live in Canada but they were the luckiest because hey got a second chance. I remember watching POPSTARS US and some of the Girls who weren't chosen found a life outside and are happy. One is an Actress, one became an Optometrist, one Found Jesus and is now Singing Gospel with her Husband in his Church in Atlanta, GA. Taryn Mannning tried out before playing Pensatucky on Orange Is The New Black.
Liberty X seem like nice, adjusted people. It's good that they get along and have lives post-stardom.
They in many ways were the luckiest. They were the most successful in terms of not being chosen for a Group alot of folks would have given anything to achieve what they did. Also to know that their success superceded Hear'Say's was quite a coup. It kind of parallels The Backstreet Boys/N'Sync.

I fuckin love Liberty X! What a bunch of decent, elegant, lovely human beings. No drama/jealousy/ego issues with eachother whatsoever. Their music was fantastic and quite underrated. Best pop band for me. 👍👍

This is so amazing seeing them being real and working on their issues. People sometimes forget that these stars are PEOPLE and not just the stars they are known to be.
Sean blames everything on everyone else instead of moving on with his life. I don't know what he does for a living but its obvious hes not really doing much and he's just wallowing in misery. Same with Scott, hes a house husband (which is tough) but I feel like instead of getting a qualification in something he'd rather stay at home because again everything's everyone else's fault that he had a breakdown and j was supposed to look after him. So now he doesn't want to do anything.

Sean clearly has his issues but even back in the 90s he always looked like the boy band boy who didn't look like he was meant to be there.... Just walked in has a complain a dance a complain n walked out....
You know what would have been "Sick". If Liberty X met "Hear'Say" and talked about how it felt for them to see "Rejects & Flopstars" do bigger and them. Was that hard to deal with.
It is difficult to like Kerry and Sean...... or Edele for that matter. But absolutely loving the Lib X guys.

Liz has to be the most insecure person on this entire show. She's SO panicked about Tash and Kerry being friends that you can constantly see her trying to wedge Kerry out.

I think Sean was essentially reliving the whole experience which was traumatic for him but in the end it was healing. He was essentially still a child when Five became big (which would've also been a very defining time in his life) so I think his behaviour is/was understandable.

This was The Second Time a UK Boy Band "Covered" an American R & B Song. Take That covered "It Only Takes A Minute" and 911 "Covered" "More Than A Woman" from Saturday Night Fever. I heard the guys were furious when their version wasn't used in The Dance Contest Sequence.

aww...sean was having conflicting issues with himself. i can understand that, he was too young when five shot to fame. and to be told by jay the music they're doing is cheesy, i feel sorry for him. he seems genuine to want to sort it out though. what i dont quite understand is WHY he decided to do the show and to be in the band all over again.

If Jay didn't want to do it, it's not surprising For example, when Dallas celebrated it's 40th Anniversary in April Patrick Duffy (Bobby Ewing), Steve Kanaly (Ray Krebb) Linda Gray (Sue Ellen Ewing) and Charlene Tilton (Lucy Anne Ewing Cooper Cooper Ewing) did interviews but not Victoria Principal. Also to this day The Six Brady Kids don't do Interviews. Maureen McCormick (Marcia) said she and Eve Plumb (Jan) had a Lesbian Relationship but Eve says it's not true. When the Show Celebrated it's 45th Anniversary the Two weren't on The Today Show (A Popular Morning Show).

These guys were so much more "professional" than A Show on The US Network called BET The Encore which consists of Ladies from 1990's Girlbands many of which were R & B like Danity Kane, Blacque, 702 (which is a Las Vegas Area Code) who carry on like they are still Superstars. Such sad sick diva behavior.

What I love about seeing this Documentary is that you see "Talent" not Color. Sadly enough in The UK Liberty X wouldn't have made it in The US. Because they are interracial some Magazines wouldn't take them in their Magazines.

Even though I was clearly uploading it first, she threw a hissy fit when it became clear that her vids were getting fewer views than mine. Then she pretended to be the copyright holder and nearly got my channel shut down.
So I retaliated by reporting her for fraud and UA-cam terminated her channel instead.
