    As a retired MD, I encourage seed snacks , Watermelon, Squash, pumpkin. They are rich in protein, minerals vitamins and a good source of Selenium and many other trace elements. Now I just learned the important use of deworming my animals, Chickens and ND goats --- Pumpkin seeds!!! Thank you very much. I'll look in the AM and see if the Haloween Pumpkin hasn't gone bad as yet.

    Food grade Diatomaceous earth is even better than pumpkin seeds as the seeds may not completely kill the parasites but the D. earth does. Also good for flees if applied directly to the fur and skin of the pet.

    Just make sure they're organic. Grow your own if you have the space.
    When you 're preparing them, you'll notice the seed has a very thin clear layer on the outside. Preserve this because its good for some arthritis. I've been preparing PS for our dogs the past 5 years as a dewormer. Works for them too! No harsh chemicals needed if the immune is kept strong

    Hi Blake,
    If people use the seeds for deworming, do they eat the whole seed or do they shell it and eat the insides? Love your pumpkin videos!

    • @daddykirbs
      @daddykirbs  9 років тому +11

      +lovepeace Everything I've found suggest eating the entire seed for the maximum effect. Once ground up they can be added to hot cereals and smoothies :)

    • @daddykirbs
      @daddykirbs  9 років тому +14

      +lovepeace There is a thin layer membrane between the seed and the shell that contains a lot of important minerals. This is mostly lost when the seed is shelled.

    Since I don't have access to pumpkins (I'm disabled and home bound), I ordered ground pumpkin seeds (don't have a grinder) online. The vet was given a stool sample and still after 2 weeks doesn't know what is causing our 10 month old puppy to have so much diarrhea. I'm afraid of giving her the poisons they give at the vet, so I hope that this will help her. I wish you had told us about how much per pound and how long we should feed this to her in order to kill the hookworm, or giardia that the vet suspects her to have. I think we need a new vet...but the only other one in our area is not good at all and is also expensive...We simply cannot afford to keep taking her to the vet and getting no answers or treatment and are afraid for her. Not to mention my husband is up every hour cleaning up her loose stools on our floor. Not helping with potty training needless to say. I pray this works. I also have some organic plain pureed pumpkin in a can that I will add. I've been putting ACV in her drinking water already and a probiotic in her food. TY if you read this on this very old video!

      I did this for my cat, Parasites can be a big factor in weight loss for any age cat. I give my cats, Black Walnut Hull tincture 1-2 DROPS per meal for one week then none the following week. DO THIS for a month. Then ONLY 2 TIMES A WEEK to maintain. Also add cooked plain pumpkin/carrots, raw pumpkin seeds, probiotics, plain organic kefir, plain whole fat organic yogurt, organic unsalted butter, liver, sardines in water, organic coconut oil, (organic flaxseed meal or psyllium husks powder, or organic oatmeal mixed in water) wild caught salmon with bones in water, chicken THIGH/LEGS no white meat, high fat ground beef 73% Lean, keep it natural, organic and healthy food. If you would not give your cat a donut to eat, THEN WHY ARE YOU EATING IT?

    That's really neat. I have been researching the Worm Seed plant. I am trying to see if drying the leaves and crushing them and putting those over animal's food to rid them of round and tape worms. I watched a video from Costa Rica where a guy grows herbs and one of his visitors ate a leaf of a Worm Seed plant and he passed a 5" worm. So the leaves are edible, but I can't find anything other than the use of the seeds which are used to make oil. Great video!

    Do I have to add pumpkin puree with the crushed pumpkin seeds to the dog food or can I just add the crushed pumpkin seeds?

      Saint Papal Paws my cats get organic free range meat w organ meat, bone and marrow. I add a little pumpkin and it’s made a big difference with the hair balls and digestion in general. The pumpkin seeds are a great little addition .. I’d say it’s only about 3 to 5% added to their meat. ✨😻

    I rescued a dog who had Giardia. I don’t know how long she’s had it for. But I gave her pumpkin seeds and it Clear the diarrhea the next day. But I can tell that she already is still there by the smell. Any advice on how to fully get rid of giardia?

    Thankyou for that information, would they be ok to give to a kitten? Best wishes from England.

    Dissed by a turtle, story of my life. I guess you could sprinkle these on salads? I give my coffee grinder a good workout too. I grind oatmeal to use in skin soothing baths instead of buying expensive aveeno.

      +Cheeto Fingers I see no reason why they wouldn't work on a salad. There's a lot of nutrition there that most people toss in the trash.

    Maybe a stupid question but does it have to be that type of pumpkin? Those are hard to find after Halloween

    Need to be unsalted?
    If salted, it won’t work as dewormer?
