    I just started eating a raw food diet coming from a whole food plant based diet. What you're is saying is true in my experience. I chose grains and beans over vegetables any time. I'd incorporate vegetables into all my meals. After eating grains and beans, I'd get high energy, bloat and fart a lot, and feel full for hours. I had a hard time with self control eating those foods because they were so good tasting and they gave me a brain buzz or dopamine high if that makes sense. After quitting those and eating raw food, my seborrheic dermatitis, considered an incurable disease, is going away without the drugs I used to take.

    I always like these videos you do (even though I still eat those foods) because I like the principles behind it. 'eat what's right for you', remember it's a personal choice and we don't have to think in terms of "I can't", but "I choose", and 'don't eat what doesn't work for you' Also I like learning about how people react to different foods, and what they've done that has been a good thing for their own bodies. And ooooh!! I'm a huge fan of mamey sapote! Your description of the flavor is spot on! Thank you for another great video, Lissa!!! 💚

    • @lizard1971
      @lizard1971 4 роки тому +1

      @@noellewisdomimagez3263 yes, dehydration is still considered raw, and letting something soak, it's still raw also. There are certain things I cook. Chickpeas (from dry) quinoa, and I do eat bulgar wheat. I soak it and make tabouli salad. That is the only wheat product I eat. I'm more 'high raw' than 100% raw. What keeps me from all raw is sprouting. It seems to take forever!

    This is so inspiring, I am so glad I came across this video! Over the years I have taken dairy and grains out of my diet because of migraines, and I was thinking of giving up meat also, but I wasn't sure if it would be possible because of restrictions in my diet. It pains me to eat meat when I see research on how the fishing and meat industry is cruel to animals and is ruining our planet. But maybe I can transition meat out of my diet if I eat enough raw foods. I'm hoping I will have more energy with this change in my diet. Thank you!

    You can juice potatoes in order to get the nutrients from them. There are more nutrients in raw potato juice than in a cooked potato. Raw potato juice is also good for patting on the skin to heal skin conditions. Some starch comes into the juice when a potato is juiced. But this is not cooked starch so it does not have the same fattening effect. Basically the uncooked starch just passes through without really getting digested. I’ve juiced potatoes with other vegetable juices to make it more palatable. Have had no ill effects.

    • @RawFoodRomance
      @RawFoodRomance  4 роки тому +2

      Omg now that you mention it, I hated that so much too!!! If you do cooked cruciferous veggies, chop them well and let them sit for 45 mins before cooking. Heat destroys the enzyme that creates sulphoraphane but after 45 mins, sulphoraphane is created (the reaction between the precursor and enzymes takes about that long after any chopping, chewing or blending. The processing is what activates the reaction) then it’s ok to cook it. Which is so much more time, I just eat them raw or marinated ❤️🥦 and I eat a lot of them too!

I will be getting a full panel in the future just to make sure I’m still on point. I’ll never eat fish or animals even if my levels are lower. I know how to get nutrition from my raw choices so I wouldn’t resort to going against my ethics. Sunflower microgreens are my top source of iron if you’re curious. 1 cup has 6mg and that’s just one little thing I eat all day. I average 20+ gm iron a day from non heme sources as heme sources from animals is not uptake regulated in the body the same. I’ll pass on that form any day!

    I eat lightly fried potatoes along with a small vegetable salad of carrots, onions, bell peppers. I find it to be a nice balance between raw and cooked. The oil basically gets neutralised by the raw vegetables which act like an astringent to the fat in the body. I think both Ayurveda and TCM agree that we need both fried foods and raw foods to be optimal.

      I personally prefer fruit, vegetables, greens, roots, sprouts and herbs in their raw form. I don’t use grains personally and I don’t cook anything. “Better” is relative. Better than what?! Grains are better than junk food if a person needs healthier options, but perhaps fruit would be better suited but it depends on a persons goals, desires and finances/availability.

    I guess it's ok to change bit by bit. It's a stairway like path.
    Only a few people do or can do the hard over night all in one change.
    It means mostly to change even friends and a whole lifestyle, because it's easier to live with people that want the same and have the same frequenzy or at least like and respect what you do and love to try it too. Maybe just have problems with the diciplin.
    If they only respect it, it's often not satisfying for all. Because it feels more like a false or not fitting arrangement.

    Hi, hon'. I'm with you. :) I'm vegan, but I try to avoid grains. Haven't give up beans or legumes, yet. I've tried going raw and it's hard for me due to budget and practicality issues..but I love my smoothies and salads..but yes, gluten and grains, soooooo addictive! I sometimes go and try to have potatoes and rice, and it just lays in my stomach.. :*( ..or I can't stop eating. I also just feel that it's empty calories compared to fruit and vegetables..more energy-dense than nutrient dense. I know that as a vegan I'd be an outlier not eating grains, but I don't care. You know your body better than anyone else, and besides..taking out the grains makes your meals look more colorful! :D Maybe one day I can be completely raw..but right now I'm trying for High Raw, which is better than nothing. Thanks for the video, hon'. :)

But we need to realize that its important to stop while eating, think about it at that moment and try to control ourselves. We dont need to cut off these foods. To mindfully personally grow, is to mindfully incorporate them all and let them be our teachers🙏 by trying to eliminate calling of our taste buds...
