@@PCBuilderChannel Just finished building my racing sim PC. With a TUF B650 pluss, 32GB 6000 CL30 RAM, 2TB kingston KC3000, Corsair RM750x, ryzen 5 7600 and rx6950XT. Will upgrade that one over the new year with a Asus TUF rx8800XT and ryzen 7 7800X3D (from my main gaming rig) and some new fans. And get a 9800X3D for my main rig.
My main gaming PC runs a 7900XTX, and backed up by a 6800XT. No issues in BG3 and FF14. No plans to upgrade unless the RX 8800XT offers such great value that I can't pass it up (and scalpers don't snag them all).
I held onto my money when all the scalpers were doing their thing and got my Galax 4090 SG within 6 months and only paid $1599 on amazon for it. I will ALWAYS wait and NEVER pay a scalper. If everyone would do as I do, the scalper problem would go away. I love it when the scalpers get caught with an abundance of stock and no one will pay their price. Makes me feel all warm inside...
i bought my 4090 on launch for cheaper than they are now, 2 years later. The goal is to grab them on launch day, waiting doesnt seem like a good idea because the stock will disappear
@@EGH666 just gotta put in the work. Took me a few months of grinding but i finally managed to grab my 3080FE @ MSRP (699) and my Gigabyte o/c 4090 for 1699 (100 over the FE MSRP)
@@dolpoof2335 they misjudged with the ps5 pro. GPU demand is a different ball game. If you want one, use a chrome browser extension to alert you when a sites page changes and somethings in stock. Worked for me with Xbox on release
We learned our lesson from COVID, DO NOT BUY from SCALPERS. No BULLCRAP panic buying / Rushing. RTX will come out and AMD will come out next year, most of us are stuck in AM4 or intel 12th gen, so getting a BRAND NEW CARD from 2025 will have Bottle neck, chill down
But did we really learn it? I know I would never throw money at a scalper and I'm gonna buy strictly from a good store but I'm pretty sure scalpers will again ruin the launch and stupid people will pay them.
Scalpers sort of provide a little value. When theres a shortage of a product the scalpers essentially ensure its always available just at a higher price. If nobody was reselling these low stock items when they sold out you wouldnt be able to get it till restock. They ensure its still available for those who dont mind paying more
Really disapointing that not only was b580 sold out, the amazon "Intel Authorized Distributor" is selling it for around $550-600cad($400usd-ish). At that price, you may as well just get a 7700 XT or pay a bit more for a 7800 XT
@@PCBuilderChannel It is planned there is no way they do not know what the demand is after all these years! They are the scalpers. They can stop it if they want. It makes them even more trash of companies.
I say 2 per customer. If I were to want to be able to buy one for my wife and I both then I am stuck. Personally, I wouldn't buy one and definitely not two, but I can see the need for it.
I mean they're scalping b580s lol, a low end card that is only worth buying due to its value....I refuse to believe people are paying scalpers for a gpu that is only viable due to its price...if you are paying 400 dollars for a b580 go buy a 7700 xt....lol but ya amd won't be safe from scalpers, consumers are completely illogical...
Scalpers will go for whatever they think they can. I agree with @karzen1492 has it right, people are being illogical by not looking at alternatives. For many (most?) they won't even look at AMD cards. At launch, I received, for the time, an amazing loss leader deal on the 9800XT. I'm set for years. I'm just not going to worry about one generation better.
@karzen1492 They're not actually. It's just a few stragglers that got listed. There is genuinely short supply of these cards due to demand from people instead of resellers like the 9800x3D (It's literally nonsensical to scalp a budget card lol). They're going to have weekly restocks though which should be nice for people building soon.
@@Dempig then ill just keep playing the games i have. Hogwarts, Forza, FFXIV, all look great and im not going to suffer buying a new gpu every year because devs refuse to optimize the games. its not a matter of hardware and we need to start holding the game studios accountable.
@@Dempig 7900xt is my top card and a great card IMO, and also IMO people should stop gaf about games that won't run on anything but a 4090. F that S. There's only so much entertainment value a person can get out of a piece of equipment, and at least for me there's no new game, let alone library of games, that makes me think I need to spend $1,500 or more for a single component to run and then hope it'll continue to run the next set of games or won't end up with a melted connector, etc... I think companies are going to have to start doing something about making games that run well on reasonable equipment if they want to continue being successful.
The answer is always yes, I feel like the masses are never going to get another new gpu at launch for msrp. A few people will get lucky but scalpers are going to ruin every launch for the foreseeable future
@ there’s no reason for them to stop it. They get sold out instantly, they make their money. By stopping it and slowing down sales to a more human rate, they make their profits slower
@@jmangames5562 How would they? No really, what magic would they use to say "no, you have money and you want to buy our cards, we won't let you 'cause you're a scalper"? It's why scalpers have always existed. Limit to one per credit card? Gift credit cards can be bought and then what? Limit retailers to sell only one per customer? They won't accept that, it's money, they're not going to turn down money. There's no technical solution. There just isn't. It'll stop when scalping stops making scalpers money.
Don't fall for the FOMO. don't rush to upgrade. AAA Games come out unoptimized these days. Don't play games on Ultra settings, you won't notice the difference during gameplay. Upscaling is not the solution. RTX is a gimmick. check out your backlog. Try playing less demanding AA and indie games that still look amazing without making you feel like you need the lastest GPUs to brute force the unoptimized bloat. check out games from few years back and realize how little progress has been made in graphical fidelity compared to how much the demand for more proccessing power grew.
Definitely go back and play some old games! Playing through Lords of Shadows for the first time and it didnt cost $70 like a newer game would. Got a key for $8
I have a card from 8 years ago, grabbed up a b580. I agree with all the sentiments but I need a change in order to play the games I want and at the performance I want.
@@SnakeEyes111 Of course if you haven't upgraded for so long you should upgrade there is no question about it, i was talking from a perspective of people who own mid- to high end current or last gen cards and have reasonable expectations from what they own.
This is why whne new tech is released, i assume that the real release date is 6 to 8 months after launch. Ussually in that time frame the supply issues settle, the bugs are exposed and patched, and things like bios have been updated. Its a lot less painful that way. I did this with the 7800x3d launch, the 5800x3d launch, the 3080 launch, the 4080 luanch, the 4080 delay got me a 4080 super instead. With 5000 series, i will likely either skip this gen or save for 5090.
Now that 5090 having 32gb of VRAM is all but confirmed, I'm predicting the price to be between 1999 - 2499... and I'm honestly leaning more towards 2499.
Imo, screw NVIDIA, need more people to stop buying their stuff. They need to lose market share. AMD cards will play everything just fine. Even Intel now can.
@@StickyPlasters AMD only competes when you put in the same category as Veganism. Nooooooooooooo!!!!!1 Don't you want the latest technology, to see the light reflecting off surfaces, to see your reflection in the mirrors, SMOKING HOT 12VHPWR?!?!?1 Isn't this what gamers love? I mean nvidia only owns +80% of the market...
I bought my last GPU, the RTX 3080, during the crazy launch period during the pandemic. It took a few weeks, but I managed to snag one using some chrome extensions (forget the name) to monitor newegg and some other sites for diffs on specific searches when looking for them to come in stock. Got real lucky and when the "alarm" went off, managed to purchase one. A few seconds after they were already out of stock. Crazy times. I hope it's not that wild again.
I got my 3080 in a Sky Tech prebuilt for msrp that January rather than fight all that crap. Still going fine, decent specs to start, upgraded a few things over time. Most of the builders then had wait times too...up to 3 months after you ordered. Never heard of Sky Tech but they had stock on hand, I called to make sure. Shipped same day, no tax, free shipping. Came in perfect and has had zero problems. Even with me digging around in it.
@yourhandlehere1 not a bad approach. I enjoy building my PCs though so tend to go that route instead. For me even though the 3080 is still a decent GPU, I am doing things that still bring it to it's knees and will actually benefit from upgrading. I think most people wouldn't need to though.
I'm waiting to see the reviews for 8800 XT and 5080 next month, whichever one has a better price to performance in Stable Diffusion, and if it still plays games in 4K fine, that's the one I'm getting. Thumbs up!
8800xt will for sure be too weak for 4k, and FSR looks horrible even at 4k. Not even the 7900xtx is good enough for 4k and the 8800xt will be weaker than the 7900xtx in raster.
I still think it's gross the top of the line AMD this time can't even have 20 GB. of V-RAM. I'm not complaining about the lower core count but capping the ENTIRE release lineup at 16 GB. at most is absolutely ridiculous. It is like AMD progressed on V-RAM, understanding the need for extra in the 7000 series then regressed back to the 6000 series where 16 GB. was more then enough. They need to have that extra RAM from 20 to 24 GB to futureproof like was the intent with the 6000 series at the time.
@@NetflixForeign You forget that AMD isn't going to be making (this is what I've heard) high end GPU's this round. So, 16 gb for a solid mid-level card is normal.
Hey Jason. Your channel helped with my recent build. Can you talk a little about physical card size? Cards today are massive, often taking up 3-4 slots and sometimes 340mm long. I have an mATX and a case with 320mm clearance (DeepCool CH370). What are my best options to upgrade my trusty 1660 Super in the sub $500 range? Will a long card harm the airflow on my two 140mm intake fans? Thanks.
Its definitely something to check these days! My advice is you will want to just check the dimensions of all the cards you are considering to make sure they will fit the way you want them too. With a little clearance it should affect your fans
I just bought a Ryzen 7 7700. Like most people, my PC isn't just for gaming, and I also use it as my primary work tool. Seemed like the rational choice for me, both price and performance-wise.
@@PCBuilderChannel A 6750 XT. Far from ideal, I know, but GPU prices over here (I moved to Brazil a while back) are insane, and I don't expect it to get any better with the launch of the RTX 5000's and RX 8000's. It was the only decent GPU I could find at a sane price, and it's more than enough for the type of games I play (CRPG's and Elite Dangerous mostly). I was gunning for an RX 7800 XT or a 7900 GRE, but they're just too expensive. I could afford them, just couldn't justify the price to myself.
I'd just like to add that what I really like about your channel is that you focus on the users' actual needs. Everybody likes news about the newest shiny toys, don't get me wrong, but finding a hardware channel that actually gives sensible advice is a rare find these days.
@@jomorim im in the same boat, was going for a 4070 super or 7900 gre but just couldn’t justify the inflated prices and went with a 6750xt, so far it’s been serving me flawlessly I must say.
Do you think it's likely that new mITX motherboards will release soon? The GPU and the motherboard are the two final pieces I need for my build, but all of the current mITX boards seem to have some deal breaking flaw.
Jason, i could really use your help. I am waiting for a cpu for my parents, i am trying to test their board with my rm850x psu (going in my build not theirs) so i know it is good. The board wont power on (no ram no cpu for a few days) i just want to see signs of life. The psu works when i jump the appropriate pins and all rails have correct power. Do i have to have a cpu in the board to get the board to power on and get fan spin?
question for ya. I just bought a 4090 msi gaming trio. Should i wait for the restock or is there another amd version? Im just trying to get the best performance for gaming.
I’m building a pc for the first time because I want to play cyberpunk with path tracing. Should I want for the 5000 series or stick with the 4070 ti super
Just subbed. At 6:31 you mention dumping in your 5-6 year old gaming pc. I have a 4080 currently that I have sold for a fair price to a person renting from me if I want to go 5090. Also, 13600k at 5.2 all core 24/7. and 64 gigs ram. New pc or should I keep everything but the GPU? I play at 5120x1440.
Would a 7800x3d be a good card to match with a 5090 at higher resolutions? At 4k with a 4090 the 9800x3d is only a few percentage points faster than the 7800x3d. And I’ve seen people pair a 5800x3d with a 4090 and get good results at 4k
Well the sad part for the 9800x3d are the regular sellers (Best Buy & Others) in not limiting sales to one each to allow greater access. But I get it. They just care about selling stock on hand and could care less if Scalpers suck up all the inventory. So meanwhile I will just have to wait because I'm just not going to overpay.
Question: Im getting a 4070 ti super pre built here in the coming weeks, it it best just to wait for the 5000 series and or is the 4070 pre built will go down in price? Thanks!
Microcenter locations seem to be getting regular shipments of the 9800x3d. The Philly location had 25+ that sold out slowly over the weekend, and they just got a new shipment of 25+ today. You can only buy in person and you cannot have one held for you. I gambled on a hour and a half trip through Friday rush hour traffic and got one. They didn't sell completely out until Monday morning.
been doing research for my first ever pc build after having this prebuild for 7+ years and i just wanted to say that this channel is a gem and deserves a lot more attention! great quality videos with content that is targeted to what people need to hear :) keep up the great work and youve earned a new subscriber!
Honestly I don’t know why these companies doesn’t do something similar to preorders or just a put you in a line when you make in order. Like, you might have to wait for the next restock but I feel if you put in an order they could easily track when you made it and who you were ahead of and behind of and just give you your product based on that. Like it might take a few months for it to get to you as they restock, but it should be pretty easy for them to get it to you.
With that one its tricky. I think if you want Nvidia over AMD it would make sense. It will be a long time before the equivalent rtx 5000 cards would be available. But if you are willing to consider a RX 8000 there might be better price to performance options for you soon. So really up to you!
I have that cpu and it bottlenecks my 3080 ti all the time in certain games. Depends what you're playing or doing. It's a good cpu but not future proof at all
Amd builds (cpu and gpu) are really good for other operating systems (notably nobara when it comes to gaming). In my case, the 7900xt with 7800x3d are insane for modding and additional textures in certain titles. And with civ7 (one of my anticipated games) having denuvo, maybe it’s better to get a high-performance card with more vram than needed.

9800x3d are ALWAYS in stock at Micro Centers. They have them every week. I drove 3 hours to get mine but my nearest was pretty far but worth the drive. Got it same day not waiting for Amazon to restock
I randomly checked amazon for the 9800x3d yesterday, saw it was in stock. Bought it and went back to see how many were left, it was gone 💀. So lucky I caught it
Love the update on Mr. Bear! He moves great for a middle-aged cat who once had a broken leg. Glad you have an environment where he can go outside and behave like a cat, and still be safe.
If we would go after the spec leaks, the 5090 is double the raw power of 5080 and double the vram. They literally can put the 90 class at double the price and still be a better deal due to the bandwith and other specs over the 80 class
Dude, love your no nonsense total transparency. You don't prefer one brand over another, and you present the facts as they are and what goes best together. Happy Holidays and New Year! Look forward to the 5000 series debacle coming up! 🙂
My 6800xt is more than powerful enough for what I play at 1440p besides VR. My FOMO wants a card with 4090 performance but the gap between the 5090 and the rest is really turning me off. I hope it's still a halo card but the rest of the stack has the gaming performance with the AI and professional work station premium cut out but i'm high as a kite on hopium right now...
I'm glad he set expectations on what's to possibly if not definite for somethings to come. Great video! All my components are getting upgrades outside of the Motherboard. I'll end up upgrading my CPU, RAM & PSU while/if GPU availability is an issue.

I went with 32Gb of 6000 Corsair Vengeance CL30 it's cheap and runs well, MB I got was AsRock b650 Steel Legend which does the job, I'm waiting to see if the 5080 is worth a look as I'm wanting to upgrade from a 3080
What I suspect Nvidia will do on the 5060 base is release at 8GB for now and at a later date when 3GB memory chips become available release a 12GB version by swapping the 2GB chips for 3GB chips instead. In part because the 128 bit bus will still be viable. In my case it will not matter. I am not buying any GPU with the PCI2 5.x plug until some revisions have taken place. There is simply too much power being pushed through wires that are all small in diameter (gauge) to handle the power being pushed at them.
Doing my first PC build. I’ve been ordering all the parts but am holding out on the GPU to be my last purchase hoping to get my hands on a 5090 at launch. I decided to go with the Ryzen 9 7950x 16 core 32 thread unlocked desktop processor. I’m hoping that’ll be sufficient enough over not getting the 9800x3D
I was huge fan of Intel since before 2000, but fact is i have still same MB with AMD since last purchase like 5 years ago and i have upgraded 3 CPU's......its just crazy better experience. And PC is actually still very good. The only bad thig is i had to stick to my original CPU in drawer just in case my Bios got corrupted, but with new MB where you can flash bios without CPU directly from USB....i cant see myself going back to intel. I'm just now buying new PC for Budget of 3000-4000k EUR (9800x3d is around 850 EURos in my country) and i could get cheaper Intel PC, but i just don't trust them anymore.
Just built my first gaming pc! I'm coming from a Precision 3640 which had a i7-13700 and an RTX T400, and while it was fine for low res gaming on my 4k monitor, it couldn't play Jedi Survivor and other games at all. I ended up going with a 9800x3d over the 7700x since I was by my state's Microcenter for a day when it was in stock and I'll be needing some of its better multi-threading performance. I got the Sapphire Nitro+ 7800xt to pair with it. Since my 4k monitor is locked at 60fps, it'll do me well for awhile, and I can downgrade the graphics quality for several years before needing to upgrade my gpu. My little brother is very jealous since he's the one who got me into gaming in the first place and he's rocking my old college XPS 15 9570. I hope to help him build his first pc when he goes off to college in the future.
@@PCBuilderChannel Thanks! All your charts and comparisons made it really easy to decide what would work best for me and what was optional to go for if I had the money.
China isn't a major market anymore. It was before Pooh bear took power. Most people in China are having a real hard time just making rent or feeding themselves. They don't have the money for ultra expensive video cards.
The 7600x3d has also turned up in Denmark now. I'm considering upgrading, but the cost of a platform upgrade would roughly be 3 times the cost of a 5700x3d. Would be a significant upgrade as well and a platform with an upgrade potential, but for now I guess I'll stick with my 5600x. Im frugal and indecisive as always 😅 Happy Holidays from Denmark
Honestly, if 5080 is 16GB, it's a no-go in my book. At the very least 20GB. Fuck "bandwidth" or whatever other BS they feed to the fanboys to cope. How much they give for VRAM is in my opinion a good gauge on how keen they are on improving their product, especially for the non-90s, and so far NVIDIA is doing shit. Heck, those chips doesn't even cost that much and both AMD and NVIDIA is unwilling to add more. Fuck them. Also not being able to export to China shouldn't mean fuck other markets and underperform. If that logic goes then there's no point in making 5090 or it would be a 4090 with different name on it. If you make a good product, it will sell fine even without export. Just sell 5070 to China if 5080 is no bueno. Export control is no excuse for slapping on the 5080 name onto a 4085 and then proceeding to price gouge everyone like crazy.
I disagree with your take on system integrators. They are skilled professionals who know exactly how to market 8GB of VRAM to uninformed customers at marked-up prices, even though it's not enough for most 2025 games.
It seems like nvidia is trying to create a gap between the 5080 and 5090 with the cut down. So they can force people to get a higher class card if they want something. On another note, if we said forget china on getting them gpus, they could do the same to us put of spite and we wouldn't have anything. The 5090 is talking about going for $2000 that's massively more than the 4090. Like $400 msrp difference
Not to mention by gimping the lower tiers, they are basically building in planned obsolescence, and forcing people to upgrade sooner rather than later. Most of the people buying 40/5090's because 'they are the fastest and they're not poor' are probably going to upgrade anyway as soon something faster and shiner comes along, even if it cost $3k, $4k or even $5k.
My local stores here in Australia vet their online sales to reduce the impact of bots. They obviously can't determine if a purchase is going to a scalper but I'm pretty confident in being able to lodge an order for a 5090 the moment they go live at my preferred store and get one in reasonable time.
Thanks for the PROMO code. Just finishing the build and installing Windows today! The new PC is going to really help with remote work and the occasional game. I got everything on sale and prices have gone up SIGNIFICANTLY since I ordered parts. I'll be glad to donate my old machine and start working with the new. Thanks for all you do!
You said in your video that you would never recommend for anyone to build a 9800x3d with a 4070. My current plan is to get a 9800x3d with most likely a 8800xt or 4070 ti super - reason being that I only play 1080p, maybe 1440p in the future and have no interest in 4k. I also dont play AAA games and care only about hitting my 240fps in every game i play, no matter what graphic setting/frame generation setup I have to use for it. My goal is to simply be able to play ARPGs like diablo 4 and path of exile 2 at a stable 240fps at 1080p with high settings or maybe esports games at 480fps 1440p in the future. For my use case - do you still think this build makes no sense or would it add up for this situation?
So many people complain about not being able to get the 9800x3d. I used the hot stock app on my phone (did not purchase a subscription) and I got notified when it went into stock across multiple retailers. I setup my accounts before hand. I was able to secure two 9800X3Ds within two weeks of it being released (1 from Amazon and 1 from Newegg). Built a new pc around it. Glad I decided to do a 9800x3d/4080 super build with the specs of the 5080 coming at 16gb of vram.
Those Nvidia 3000 series 8GB priced 1/3 of original MSRP @ eBay... Its value depreciates much faster than my car....It seems gamer has problems running Indian Jones with 8GB. My last Indian Jones (MS Dos) runs on VGA card with 1mb of 512kb ^_^
I got the 4070 Ti Super in January 2024, thanks to Jason's advice. I was wondering if I should trade the 4070TiS for a 5080 early next year, but after watching this video it seems like the 5080 isn't looking too hot
I was able to grab a 9800X3D on day of release by being early. Newegg had release starting at 9 am EST, I was logged in and refreshing at 8:15 and sale went live early at 8:30 instead of 9:00. If the AIB Partners have boards ready at launch then I'll be trying for a 5090, otherwise I'll wait til they're available.
Great video Jason and after joining the member portion 14 months ago I've never looked back. Best $$ I have spent in a long time. Yes VRAM VRAM I am now an AMD GPU guy because of Vram and you. I don't need the fancy stuff Nvidea offers in their cards. I am not a gamer but I am looking for performance w/o it costing the proverbial arm and a leg. About to build a PC but was not impressed with what was available- Intel has issues and AMD 7900 was about the best I could find without a super hot CPU. Do you think I am better off waiting for next gen. sometime in 2025? I heard there are some cool AI CPU's coming out as well and also better graphics cards. I feel like today's tech is not a big improvement over the last few years- not next gen yet. In some ways, went backwards, but prices went up. I would welcome your thoughts. I need a PC for some video and multi track music editing as well as basic productivity. I don't game much but I do want to run Cyberpunk 2077- the HD version looks sick.
Jason, I’ve got a 5800x3d with a 6950XT. I’m happy and grateful for it/with it but it’s hard to ignore the newest stuff. I know this is largely debated topic but should I upgrade to AM5 soon? I worry that the transition to AM5 will be harder as time goes on due to my current setup value steadily decreasing as AM5 keeps developing (I like to sell my used parts to upgrade).
The 5800X3D is still super strong. Unless you are unhappy with your current performance I'd stay put personally. You could upgrade your GPU if you like! Or add more SSD storage or Ram if you are feeling the urge to upgrade (:
I have a country cousin who bought a 4090 off of a guy who got it at launch. Charged him $1,900. He handed over the cash then punched him in the nose. Thanked him and walked away. True story. Not even close to exaggerating. I don’t condone violence, but I’ll say this: Scalpers beware. 😂😂😂

But did we really learn it? I know I would never throw money at a scalper and I'm gonna buy strictly from a good store but I'm pretty sure scalpers will again ruin the launch and stupid people will pay them.
Must note for anyone looking to buy. Checking price to performance is best thing 🙏
Scalpers sort of provide a little value. When theres a shortage of a product the scalpers essentially ensure its always available just at a higher price. If nobody was reselling these low stock items when they sold out you wouldnt be able to get it till restock. They ensure its still available for those who dont mind paying more

This is why whne new tech is released, i assume that the real release date is 6 to 8 months after launch. With 5000 series, i will likely either skip this gen or save for 5090.
Yeah that's a good way to think about it
Now that 5090 having 32gb of VRAM is all but confirmed, I'm predicting the price to be between 1999 - 2499... and I'm honestly leaning more towards 2499.
In europe we were paying €2000 plus for the 4090

What will ruin the launch will be the lack of VRAM.

I'm sure they'll both do that just fine. What will be cheaper? Go that route.
Yes! Sounds like a plan

Either would be fine! The 9800X3D is about a 10% boost from the 7800X3D
What do you all think of upgrading to a 4070? (I'm currently running a Ryzen 5600 with an rx 6600)

@ but the cpu is fine right
I have that cpu and it bottlenecks my 3080 ti all the time in certain games.

Will the 5000 series processor feature TSMC 3nm chip?
Doing my first PC build. I’ve been ordering all the parts but am holding out on the GPU to be my last purchase hoping to get my hands on a 5090 at launch. I decided to go with the Ryzen 9 7950x 16 core 32 thread unlocked desktop processor. I’m hoping that’ll be sufficient enough over not getting the 9800x3D
What significant GPU upgrade would you make if you saved the 300$ on the CPU and went with what GPU? Instead of a 4070.
never heard of needing a bios update to use a gpu before
isn't pci like usb? you just connect and they tell what is being connected?
Is the 7800x3d worth the price for $460ish usd? Should I wait for the price to dropped a little bit?
Im mostly annoyed how this wont affect gpu prices and make older gpus cheeper.
I skied today at - 15C. We really do live in different climate. But I can't imagine anything else then a white Christmas with lot of snow and cold! 🎄🎅
Congrats on your build!
@@PCBuilderChannel Thanks! All your charts and comparisons made it really easy to decide what would work best for me and what was optional to go for if I had the money.
Awesome vid as usual. Thanks for responding to my question :)
China isn't a major market anymore. It was before Pooh bear took power. Most people in China are having a real hard time just making rent or feeding themselves. They don't have the money for ultra expensive video cards.
Lol....not what trade numbers say...
Im frugal and indecisive as always 😅
Happy Holidays from Denmark
Interesting! Yes too many options are a pain (;
Happy Holidays!!! Best wishes to you and yours!
Bet 5080 SUPER in 2026 will have 24GB VRAM. Wait 1 year if you can. If you can't, buy the 24GB 4090 or go AMD instead.
Yup thats going to be a 1200$ card. A sub 400$ rx6800 comes with that much vram
Agreed
@@vangelis7 1399 for the gimped 5080 aka a slower 4090 with not enough vram is my guess.
you sound like a rap video every other word is fuck and shit.
I disagree with your take on system integrators. They are skilled professionals who know exactly how to market 8GB of VRAM to uninformed customers at marked-up prices, even though it's not enough for most 2025 games.
you´re my new "Tech Deals". Big compliment.
i'll wait for the 8800XT :D
That's awesome! Congrats on your build! Show off a build pic if you like on twitter/threads/bluesky at pcbuilderjason. So glad we could help!!
My last Indian Jones (MS Dos) runs on VGA card with 1mb of 512kb ^_^
idk if i should upgrade or not currently running a rx 6750 xt and a ryzen 7 7700x
I got the 4070 Ti Super in January 2024, thanks to Jason's advice. I was wondering if I should trade the 4070TiS for a 5080 early next year, but after watching this video it seems like the 5080 isn't looking too hot
That's a nice card you've got there! Yes hold onto it until we know more about the new cards. Very likely you're all good
Welcome to Nola man glad you like it here
Thank you!
Do I need the 50 series? When can I still play any game on the 4070 ti super in ultra?
"need" no, absolutely not
At least wait for actual reviews lol! Why is there so much FOMO???
Great video Jason and after joining the member portion 14 months ago I've never looked back. Best $$ I have spent in a long time. Yes VRAM VRAM I am now an AMD GPU guy because of Vram and you. I don't need the fancy stuff Nvidea offers in their cards. I am not a gamer but I am looking for performance w/o it costing the proverbial arm and a leg. I will wait till next year to build a new computer cuz mine is approaching covered wagon status. 🙄 Thank you for all that you and Sarah do for us it isn't easy I know.
Thank you Rand! I really appreciate this and all your support of the channel. Excited for your build next year! See you at the livestream today? If not no worries it will be VOD of course. Happy Holidays!!
Yes waiting now for today’s Q&A
Please when when you do the B580, Please compare with the Rx 6700 (none of the major reviewers do, only the 6700xt sometimes, i think theres about a 10% difference?), i'm wondering if it might be worth upgrading (from what i've seen, with the 6700xt it depends on the game...
I want to see if the connector can handle the wattage.
@ thank you for the advice! Keep up the great videos!
As always, a great assessment and commentary on the current (and near future) hot topics. Thanks Jason! 👍🏻
Thank you for the awesome feedback! So glad you enjoyed (:
I have a country cousin who bought a 4090 off of a guy who got it at launch. Charged him $1,900. He handed over the cash then punched him in the nose. Thanked him and walked away. True story. Not even close to exaggerating. I don’t condone violence, but I’ll say this: Scalpers beware. 😂😂😂
That’s assault, brotha
Not all hero's wear capes
Bruh, $1900 isnt even that much of a scalp why did he hit that mf for that.
If it was an AIB card, thats what they charge anyway 😂
@@dauntae24 Where I come from if you mess with someone’s hunting dog, they bury you in the hill behind behind their house and the local sheriff won’t say much about it. 🤷♂️ Edit: Actually I think that’s battery. But I’m no lawyer.
@@ilbro7874 I asked the same question! 😂
Thank you for the update and the history of Mr Bear. We love to see him in your videos. We demand more Mr. Bear!!!
After watching a ton of your videos I ended up going with a 7800x3d and 4080 Super. My plan is to build a second system Black Friday '25 with a 5090 and 9800x3d if it makes sense cost/availability wise.
Appreciate the great videos!
